Easily when you considered Hennig was pretty fucked up from his injury in 1991 and Bulldog was coked out of his mind in 92.

Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect (1991) Bret Hart vs. Davey Boy Smith (1992) Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon (1995) - I personally like this better than the Mania X match. John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar (2014) Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart (1994)

Yeah, I watch every game unless I have a family gathering or other social event to attend. Usually when there isn't a game on I don't necessarily feel like digging into wrestling.

Was that Sheik/Baba match the black and white one from Detroit in 73 or the PWF Title match from 74?

Some generic music. Like something you would put on a video for someone's anniversary. It was actually really funny as it didn't fit the video at all.

The March 14, 1987 SNME. Nothing special on this show but it's a breath of fresh air when you're watching Superstars and Wrestling Challenge. The battle royal was really fun. They teased Hogan/Andre perfectly. They'd go at it a tiny bit and someone would break it up. Andre eliminates Hogan with ease to establish Hogan as an underdog. And then my favorite battle royal spot as everyone dogpiled on Andre to eliminate him. Jake/Bundy was also kind of a fun match. My wife thought the Piper tribute was hilarious as they played touching music to him acting like a complete asshole.

Trust me, having recently watched some 1989 stuff it gets a lot worse if you stick with it! The Mat Classic segments are probably the best things on the show at that point. 1988 is pretty bad but it is interesting to see the guys that stop by between WWF and WCW runs. ESPN never showed the 1989 stuff so I've never seen it. 1990 was pretty rancid.

That's the G1 though. You can go through any year and find those kinds of losses.

I have season tickets for the Columbus Blue Jackets so my watching will fall off a cliff once hockey season kicks into gear.

I haven't gotten burned out in a really long time. This sounds ridiculous but Plex has also helped a lot as I have stuff ready to go and don't have to dig through DVDs for it.

Here's where my issue comes into play. I on average have 6-8 hours a week where I have the time to watch some wrestling. I'm good at sitting down and actually watching stuff but I seem to have severe ADD with it. I'll be starting to make progress on say WWF TV and then I just start getting the urge to watch something else. So I either start bouncing around and making no progress or I get so indecisive with what to watch that I take a few weeks off. I really like sticking to one promotion at a time because I like being immersed in it but the lure of all the footage I have it always calling. My newest idea is to set landmarks in my viewing and taking breaks when I hit those. I'm thinking I'll take some time off after Mania III and catch up on New Japan and RoH. How do you guys manage that. Do you just force yourself to keep going or do you jump around?

It's also a one time purchase. All the updates are free. My only complaint is that the tag teams are all pre-made. You can't take two singles and just toss them in a team together.

I have it. It takes some getting used to but it's a good Sim of the matches and the wrestlers tend to wrestle to their style. You get some wonky results here and there but that's going to happen with any kind of Sim.

I've been waiting for this show all week. -
Often forgotten periods of a wrestlers career...
Mad Dog replied to Sidebottom's topic in Pro Wrestling
I'm watching the Iron Sheik take on Bob Backlund as Great Hussein Arab in 1979 for the WWF Title. That seems to be a period of his career that few people know about. -
The worst are the matches where they just have to slow it down to nothing. Chikara tries pushing Heidi Lovelace and the matches just suck. The guys have to slow it down to nothing for her and loon stupid and nothing in the match looks good. I also make a point of not watching anything with Candice LeRae in it.

I agree on intergender. If it's not Sara Del Ray then I'm hitting skip.

I would argue he lifted Jericho up a level or so. Same with Angle. I think his match with the Rock at Mania XV was a bit of a carry job if you look at the Rock's work around that time.

Was X-Pac ever considered cool? I thought that Road Dogg's intro was quite funny until it became old, and I was pissed off that the shitty Armstrong is the one that became a famous star. Relative to HHH and Gunn. He was kind of like the little dog from Looney Tunes that followed the big dog around.
-
HHH was never cool. Even in the 1998 DX. Road Dogg and X-Pac were cool. HHH and Gunn were not.
-
I hated Rude with DX. He just didn't fit and you can't be cool standing next to Rude.

You're right, I saw the blond wig in the background and thought it was X-Pac.
