I haven't seen the match list in a long time but I remember commenting on how awful the matches on it were.

I just wanted to add that using Nick Bockwinkel probably isn't a great example. He was probably a better worker at the age of 50 than he was at the age of 35.
-
And a lot of those guys were jumping from territory to territory so they weren't wearing out their welcome like a lot of the current older guys are. Had those guys main evented for 10-20 years in front of the same crowds they would've worn out their welcome too.

Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve
Mad Dog replied to Coffey's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
I was reading one of the Jim Cornette recaps over at TSM. I was laughing my ass off at Bill Watts kicking Buddy Landell's suitcase and Buddy screaming "Please, Bill use my head instead, Please!" -
Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve
Mad Dog replied to Coffey's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Has anyone seen the Straight Shootin' Jim Cornette and Bill Watts DVDs? I was thinking about picking those up. -
He doesn't say anything overly original but I found it interesting. Everything he says should be common sense for the WWE but it's not at all.
-
Who said he was Dave O'Neal? I know who it is and I don't think it's any secret that he's Bob Barron.
-
It might remain. They left in him throwing that cameraman across the floor at ManiaXI.
-
That might've been what they did and the recapper is just trying to further justify what they did. I can't imagine two wrestlers being that unprofessional over normal wrestling heat.

Because it's antisocial behavior and it's not acceptable. You're defending it because it's RoH. You don't swear at children EVER. You suck it up and then you deal with it like an adult would. Kids are annoying sometimes, deal with the reality that is life. Their seat was paid for just like your seat was. You're no better or worse than they are. If you have to ask them to stop doing something you say "please" and be polite as possible. As far as the kids throwing stuff it was at the end of the show. The chants at them started in the second match. The people trying to justify it are the ones who were chanting and trying to paint themselves as misunderstood victims here.

I was a fan at one point. Got sick of the tedious matches and rematches and the fanbase in general. My interest had been going downhill for a solid year or so and the CZW feud killed it for me. Reading the Bix link I believe I understand what happened. Crowd was trying to be like a RoH crowd and then got pissed off because the kids dared to boo and cheer a couple of guys throughout the night. Towards the end of the night said kids got a measure of revenge by throwing stuff on said asshat fans. On the subject anyways. I'm a regular at Blue Jackets games and there's been a lot of times where I've had really annoying kids sitting near me. Even at a couple of WCW shows back in the day. I could never imagine telling one of those kids to shut the fuck up. The parent probably would've punched me in the face and I would've deserved it. No matter how you try and justify it it's kids. They might annoy you but that's just one of those things in life where you just need to suck it up and deal with it like an adult. This is complete immaturity and jackassery on the part of the crowd.

Reading the RoHbots try and defend this just annoys me even more with them. What is it about RoH that just attracts pathetic assholes?

Nick Bockwinkel vs. Billy Robinson - UFWi Further proof that Bockwinkel is a genetic freak who doesn't feel the effects of age.

RoH and ECW mutants also dislike being near children because it's a constant reminder of the fact that they will indeed probably never have sex with a woman.

Because that's not showing how smart you are and how much YOU YOU YOU YOU really understand and how much you appreciate everything that goes on in the ring. And did I forget to mention that it doesn't show how smart YOU YOU YOU YOU really are? I did mention that right? I mean heaven forbide people go to the show and actually try to have fun.

Interesting twist on the Hogan injury story
Mad Dog replied to sek69's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Not to stick up for Hogan entirely but him walking fine doesn't mean that his knee is fine. I have bad knees and have had several injuries. Even a couple of days later I can usually walk on level ground fine because I've had the problems for so long that I've learned to cope with it. The only really telling sign is going up and down stairs or anything that would require him to bend or put a lot of weight on that knee. -
Jimmy Valiant Goes Crazy Jimmy Valiant Goes Crazy Part 2 Only in Memphis would they have their TV Title be a television set. You have to sit through a boring interview with Tommy Rich's mom in the second clip but Valiant does show up about halfway through.
-
I think the real question is will Michaels actually put someone over in that time period.

If you want to see how much Savage was roiding check out some old Memphis footage and you'll see that Leapin Lanny is actually slightly bigger.

It's semi-tempting since it's a decent enough drive. Though OVW is about the same distance in the other direction and tickets for it are cheap and the risk of being shot/robbed goes down quite a bit.

I don't see them selling this out. I'd say drawing 60,000 would be a huge win for them. They just don't have the juice to pull a big number at the gate in the U.S. anymore. They've burned most markets out with shitty shows and high prices. I only see them selling this out one of two ways. Having Edge keep the title till then and do Edge/Cena as the main event and start building to it now. Or Rock vs. Cena. Hogan vs. Austin won't do it because Hogan is overexposed with his tv show and no one has paid to see Austin do something in a really long time. I think tickets for this will be insanely cheap to encourage fan travel or they'll give away several thousand tickets and then paper the show heavily day of.

You just totally missed the point of what Loss said. Go find a tape from the summer or fall from 1999. Test was incredibly over with the crowd. Even at the 2000 Rumble he was still really over. But people stopped caring after he was completely castrated by HHH and then not used for the next year a half in any meaningful way. He might've been over in TNA but I don't recall. It's hard for anyone to get over if you're not given a reason to get behind them. Remember when Helms was mega over so they jobbed him until he wasn't over anymore?
