  1. I agree and disagree with you. The show isn't good. It's so forumla to the point where I know the gist of what happened every week because they do the same thing every week. The wrestling is sucky for the most part and they focus on the same 4 guys every week. Velocity had better matches and really all this is is Velocity. Though I hated the original ECW and this is about the same level as what ECW was for most of it's run. So I'll be honest and say it had no chance of me liking it. Garbage wrestling isn't my thing. I do agree with you though about the mutants crying about it. They really come across like morons for actually believing the old ECW was coming back. Anyone with any sense knew what was coming and we got what we expected. I'm sick of hearing all the whiney mutants and the mutants that are too young to have every actually remembered watching ECW when it was actually on. It's funny watching them pay good money to Vince so they can go and stick it to him by crapping on the shows. Yeah you really showed him by putting another $50 in his pocket. The worst part of this revival is that it brought the mutants out of their basements and back onto the web. I used to hate dealing with them and I have to deal with them now. I remember when ECW was on it's last leg that they all claimed it was anti-ECW propaganda about how Heyman wasn't paying the workers. Even when a worker said so themselves it was still propaganda. Anyways. You want the old ECW go trade for tapes. It's that simple. Either get tapes or kick yourself for not supporting the product when it was around. I hated ECW quite a bit and I STILL went to a house show when it came to my town. That's more support than a lot of mutants ever gave it.

  3. I'll look into those. I'm always up for old NWA stuff.
  4. So due to some ebay auctions I'm probably going to have $100 to throw at some wrestling tapes. Any suggestions. I was looking at some of the St. Louis DVDs or getting some USWA tv tapes.
  5. Watching some OVW tapes this weekend. I think Kenny Bolin could really be a good heel manager for the WWE. He'd never get used because he's too fat and too Southern but I've never not been entertained by one of his promos.
  6. I get so sick of having to argue with people over the concept of jobbing vs. putting someone over. People seem to think just losing to someone is putting them over. That doesn't work for me at all. If a main eventer jobs clean to a mid-carder and that guy stays in the mid-card he wasn't really put over. The people that think Triple H put over Benoit are insane.
  7. I wouldn't know. I actually thought that segment and the one the week before were really good. I've really enjoyed the LAX stuff since Cornette forced them to start wrestling again.
  8. Probably so he could refer to saying balls in Spanish without the fear of people not understanding.
  9. Styles was selling the Gringo Killer that Homicide gave him the week before. Daniels said "pantalones" because that's what Konnan said to them the week before when they set the title match up.

  11. It's announcer speak. They're storytellers and medical facility is more interesting than just throwing out hospital.
  12. So according to PWInsider TNA sold around 1000 tickets on the first day to Bound for Glory.
  13. Chris Jericho dressing Lenny Lane up like him so he could avoid losing the title on Nitro was pretty good.
  14. I always felt that the WWF dropped the ball big time by not going further with the Barry Horowitz push in 95. I think they could've taken him all the way to an IC title reign.
  15. I don't think it works with Owen because he changed his style a lot once he started climbing the WWF ladder.
  16. I went through and recorded the last 3 weeks of Impact to DVD. Those had to be 3 of the strongest episodes I've ever seen. The LAX stuff has just been great. Probably the best heel stable I've seen in a few years. I actually read the spoilers and then was still surprised by Jarrett being the guy in the Sting mask.
  17. He was the only guy I could really think of. Though he essentially had a similar roughneck style. As for Misterio, I always thought WCW should've given him the upset win over Flair on that springbreak Nitro episode. He was riding some momentum after unmasking and I think he might've slowed the ratings slide. DDP kind of was helping things as champion but Nash had to fuck everything up again by giving himself the belt.
  18. Steve Williams.
  19. I don't remember much of Malenko's WWF run other than that awesome match he had with Scotty II Hotty.
  20. That feud ruined them, well Jeff more than Matt. Jeff at that point still had upper mid-card potential as a singles and he fell completely off the face of the earth after those IC hotshots where HHH made sure he looked like a total fluke. Funny how just a little over a year later HHH was scoffing at the belt but had no problem with it when he got to bury two of his big threats.
  21. I liked the Rockers a lot but I always thought Jannetty was the better of the two as far as that team went.
  22. That might've been true about 5 years ago. Today though the IWC has declined to such a point where most of the posters have nonsensical opinions like that Batista vs. AJ Styles thread over at DVDVR or all the threads where everyone denies up and down that there's anything wrong with Kurt Angle.
  23. This move completely reeks of desperation. I say he's gone within six months as he either fails a drug test or no shows and gets fired.
  24. I've been watching a lot of OVW lately. I learned earlier today that Jim Cornette throws a better worked punch than anyone on the active rosters.
  25. It's not like ECW mutants were ever the brightest bulbs. They still haven't come to the terms that ECW lived on the whims of McMahon for most of it's run. Plus I've always found it hilarious with these shows that they pay a ton of money to go chant "fuck Vince" or whatever when they just put more money in his pocket.
