  2. I don't think ROH could get to the level ECW was at even if they wanted to. They're better staying where they are, and not going into debt. ROH is a hugely niche product, whereas ECW was only niche to an extent. As well as the crazy stuff, they still has superb angles, and at times good wrestling, especially before WCW took the talent. ECW's promos were awesome as well, most promos I see in ROH, with the exception of a few like Cabana really aren't that good. CM Punk's supposedly 'one of the greatest promos ever' at DBDIII was pretty average from what i saw, but then again, that whole match was totally blown out of proportion.
  3. The Rock v Shawn Michaels is considered a dream match by many, but will rpobably never happen.
  4. I'm considering it, but I have about 60%+ of the stuff, and things like Jannety/Angle have no place on there, especially when you've left out the excellent Michinoku/Togo 03/04 match, and the great Kobashu/Hashi v Akiyama/Kanemaru Tag from 19/08.
  5. Looks really good. Not sure how the formula works, but I would love to see a Mistico/Liger match. Have they wrestled before?
  6. Seems to me Vince wants Verne on good terms so he can do something for the AWA footage DVD's they make.
  7. I think the squash element of the Taker/HBK cell match is often overstated. HBK spent a fair amount of time on offence, busting out a pile-driver on the stpes, among other things.
  8. I think Triple-H/Cena will draw fairly well. It's a big match between two big superstars that people haven't seen before. I wouldn't count out a Hogan appearence either.
  9. I think Jericho had got so over to the point where it would be bad business not to push him. I'm guessing he remained in the upper midcard for so long because he was consistently over, and could work a solid match with most people.
  10. I'm sure that ECW Bloodsport 1 was already penned down. Saw it on Silvervision about 2 months ago.
  11. You could have, say, 10 people or however many sign up to it, and each week 1 person gets a turn at either... A. Picking the match or... B. Compiling and distributing the DVD(s). Just depends which way you want to do it, but then you get a huge variety of wrestling styles to watch. Count me out for the DVD thing though, because I don't fancy forking out to ship 9 DVD's to America. I'll do the match thing, that is to say, if I have the matches on tape. I detest watching matches on PC, just can't get into them as well.
  12. Comments about Orton were unjustified I'd say. He didn't main event 2004 because of the Foley feud. he didn't main event 2005 because of bad booking- a rushed face turn and dropping the belt to HH a month after he won it. He's been highly entertaining as a heel, having enjoyable matches ever since his run on Smackdown, especially being stuck in a dead end feud with Undertaker. I see him dropping the belt to Rey in the long term, but beating Angle for it at Wrestlemania. As someone said, Rey is being made out to be really good, winning the Rumble and he will be screwed out of his match with Orton, thus not losing credibility.
  13. The Hard-Punch was an awful finisher. Especially since the punch didn't look 'hard' in the least.
  14. Get the opponent up for a Backdrop, and throw him off forwards in a power move so he lands on his back.
  15. We all vote for our 50 favourite WWE matches ever? Sure. But like Waco said, I have no interest in doing X v Y.
  16. I wish Benoit would only use the single German Suplex with the bridge pin regularly. If he's in a big match, he can bring out the rolling Germans, to much better effect.

  18. I had it at ***** at one stage. It now sits at around ****1/2.
  19. I was thinking more on the Austin side, but HHH wasn't noticably bad at it. In fact, I think it's one of his best performances. Anyway, part of the story was that he was cool and calculatingly evil, whereas Austin was in your face. I actually don't rate that match as high as I used to, but it's still one of my favourite matches. I may get a review up in a couple of weeks if I have time. Oh and Tim I've read your comments about the match on the old Smarkschoice board. I may try and dig it out.
  20. Just to clarify, I am talking about the 05/84 match Loss, not the 06/84 match. I don't watch wrestling to see move after move, I look for story, I look for emotion, and I look for hatred. In fact, these things you value so highly were found in a Triple-H/Steve Austin match from February 2001 which you don't rate too highly at all. My problem with Slaughter/Sheik was the pacing was far too slow, and whatever they were trying to put across bored me. It was monotomous, predictable and above all didn't appeal to me. But then, I have no emotional connection with either guy, and I didn't care who won or who lost. For the record, I detest the Canadian Destroyer.
  21. Well it was just boring to me. Perhaps it was that I hadn't seen the feud build up, but all I saw was average strike action at a tedious pace with the odd wrestling move thrown in here and there. They may have managed to get the hate over, but the fact remains I was bored for the majority of it.
  22. Looks like Shawn/Hogan was a huge draw for Summerslam. Not sure if Mark Henry/JBL would score the same buyrate...
  23. Well I gave the 21/05 Sheik/Slaughter match **, so this one must be a vast improvement, although it probably isn't.
  24. Don't see why not. Mark henry has been amazing in recent weeks. I've been so impressed by his string of brilliant matches, and he plays the monster heel as well as anybody I've ever seen. Much better than Shawn Michaels, who is an awful wrestler who doesn't match up to Mark Henry on any accounts in the ring. Well, that's if you take any notice of the fools at DVDVR of course.
  25. VQ on One Night Only shouldn't be a problem anymore since its out on official DVD. That's unless your after an original that is, without the WWF's bleeped out. The logo still stands though, since we weren't onto the scratch logo just yet.
