  1. Harts-Demolition at Summerslam '90 was another time the title changed hands with a DQ in a fall.
  2. what was the deal here? He said that Punk was "considered dangerous around the women" without any analysis, qualification, or objection. Gonna go out on a limb and guess Punk probably earned some enemies since he's long been known to have a list of "acquaintances" that reads like a who's who of female indy pro wrestlers. Plus it's also known that WWE has a slotting system where it's not considered kosher to fuck above your paygrade. Mix in the high-school like culture of pettiness and I wouldn't be surprised if someone was mad Punk took a run at a Diva that another one of the boys had eyes on. All it takes is someone to blind item it to the sheets that Punk is "dangerous" around women, and then it gets repeated as fact even if it gets corrected later like the "Punk got punished for not following the dress code" story. I'm sure something like that is the reason. Someone at that one board should ask Byron Alvarro to issue a long overdue retraction and apologize to Punk. Bix, do you and Alvarez have legit heat over something? I honestly have no idea. Well there was this: http://soundcloud.com/unapologeticfaggotry/bix-run-in And no, I didn't upload it, so don't anyone get mad at me for the name of the user who did.
  3. It's a good promo. Can you think of a better promo on WWE or TNA TV in the last five years? I suppose Jericho may have had a few contenders, but aside from that I can't think of anything.

  5. To be fair to WWE, Rocky Johnson is a huge embarrassment, if you remember the scandal that surrounded him in Florida a decade ago. I wouldn't mention him either.
  6. Bossman wasn't black. Haha, he was talking about WWE's portrayal of cops.
  7. Is there any worse finish than the "german suplex double pin one guy gets his shoulder up or maybe he doesn't and they hold the title up" finish? This is not a rhetorical question. I hate it more than any non-DQ finish in wrestling, and more than most DQs.
  8. Didn't he pronounce "svelte" as "slivet?"
  9. Has any wrestler complained more about fans talking to them than this guy.
  10. I didn't think he was taking a shot, it's just pretty funny/sad that Ric chose to see Randy's premature death as a justification for his irresponsible spending. He didn't need any more encouragement.
  11. DDP was also a buyout. Torrie Wilson came in as part of WCW but she had left the company late in 2000. There were 24 wrestlers (well, 23 wrestlers and Stacy Keibler) whose contracts WWF picked up with the buyout.
  12. Since WWF didn't actually buy the company World Championship Wrestling - just the name, trademarks and IP, tape library, etc. - it makes sense that the deal was itemized that way. WWF got to pick and choose which wrestler contracts they wanted to pick up and didn't have to assume any of WCW's debt or litigation (Hogan, Onoo, etc.). After WWF bought all that, the company still remained with Time Warner under the name Universal Wrestling Corporation (the name it was originally incorporated under in 1988) and just paid the wrestlers still under contract.
  13. Tea Party babyface stable confirmed.
  14. This was in the most recent Observer:
  15. I thought Kong asked for her release after the Bubba incident.
  16. What were the reasons Kong left in the first place ? Stupid TNA.... She attacked interview Bubba the Love Sponge backstage while yelling HAITI BABIES. She also attempted suicide at one point, according to Meltzer, but I don't know when exactly that was. I hope she got mental help before WWE signed her.
  17. I always figured Luger would have been Davey's opponent at IYH3 had he not left, and Bigelow was a replacement for Lex in that match, but the Torch from that time said Lex was scheduled to face HHH at that show. Meanwhile in news from the Smackdown and Impact tapings tonight, What shit.
  18. Here's the video of Cena announcing Osama's death. "Compromised to a permanent end" is the worst WWE linguistic quirk I've yet heard. You can't say "killed" in reference to the most hated mass murderer of the last 60 years?
  19. I remember how stoked I was for this Raw. Marty Jannetty, my favorite wrestler at the time, in a 2 out of 3 falls match, plus the Razor-Kid rematch. Then on the day of the show the freakin' power went out and I didn't get to see it. The Raw my 8-year-old self was most hyped about ever and I missed it. I wouldn't have minded missing the Michaels-Kamala Raw or the Yoko-Crush Raw that much, but this one hurt. My brother went to his friend's house and watched it there, so he told me the next day about the Steiners winning the titles and about the results of the two big matches. Then, that weekend, they replayed the Jannetty-Doink match on All-American but my dad was taking us to the beach so we had to leave just as they were about to start airing it. Anyway, the point of this is that I didn't get to see the Jannetty-Doink match until some 15 years after it aired. And it ruled. Matt Borne sure was good in this role, which brings me to these questions: 1) Are there any good Big Josh matches? 2) Are there any good non-Borne Doink matches?
  20. I suppose I shouldn't have made it sound like they fired him FOR getting Bell's Palsy.
  21. Well, here's what the Torch said at the time:
  22. He was fired in January '94 after getting Bell's Palsy. He came back in July while Vince was on trial for a short bit, then was fired for doing an interview with the Torch. He was brought back in January '95.
