  1. I'm really sick of Flair in the WWF.
  2. Last few minutes, which sees Money Inc win the tag titles from the Natural Disasters. Nothing special.
  3. I liked a lot about this match, but it seemed like it was never going to end. Maeda brings out a fun side of Han, and we get lots of great strikes mixed in with the cool matwork. But this was a 15 minute match stretched out to 30.
  4. Wild finish, and I liked Sting swinging around the pole, but yeah, no reason to see this whole match. Not sure why they wouldn't gimmick the wheel so they could do a better match.
  5. Me too. It wasn't any better when Lawler did it.
  6. There was nothing consistent about WCW, which was the whole reason, even during bad times, to keep watching.
  7. Starrcade felt like a big show until they started overthinking it. 1989-1992 was theme overload and it killed the name. Even with occasional good shows after that, it was never the same. The answer is that they didn't have one. WCW changed leadership and direction 2-3 times a year -- if not more -- for most of their existence. Under Bischoff, they were more stable, but even he had exactly one angle that they planned out long term in advance. There's no real answer to this question.
  8. Best thing at Havoc. This is one of my all-time favorite segments in wrestling, just because Paul E. is SUCH an asshole and Madusa beating him up gets an amazing pop. "I AM A MAN MAN MAN. YOU ARE A WOMAN WOMAN WOMAN." Little more than petty burying of Paul E., but still fun.
  9. I've watched this match enough times that I don't feel like I have to watch it again to refresh myself. My thoughts from my last viewing:
  10. Kind of a disappointing match. I know a lot of people like it, but Pillman wasn't in a zone yet as a heel and they didn't get enough time to do anything special. Too back and forth.
  11. The first match of the series, a few months before Austin and Pillman started teaming regularly. Good, but they had way better in '93.
  12. He beat up Sherri. Sherri is a woman. Beating up managers in general is fine. Concerning Andre, his immediate reaction was that if Andre ever wanted a title shot, all he had to do was ask. Well, that's exactly what he did. He got Bobby Heenan involved, but he confronted him face to face and simply asked him. Not to mention the trophies the week before. As Jesse Ventura pointed out, Hogan's trophy was made of REAL GOLD (It's true!), while Andre's was simply "rotten old lead".
  13. Nikita hypes his match with Rude at Havoc, where Rude was supposed to pull double duty. The ultimate in bait and switch.
  14. This really cost $50,000? Not sure why Watts kept this guy around.
  15. Local promo! Cornette is always great in these, but this guy really hates almost every small town in America.
  16. I will give them credit with both Smothers and Morton for trying to explain why they were heel instead of just having them show up and pretend it never happened.
  17. Funny how Gibson not being around doesn't really result in the match losing much. This was really good. My only issue was that when Gibson finally did show up to help Morton, why did the match have to be thrown out? Shouldn't it have continued?
  18. Tracy Smothers shows up. He explains why he was a Young Pistol in WCW, and also has one of my favorite lines ever: "I never been to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and I don't reckon I'll ever go."
  19. The Moondogs are doing one of their typical crazy squashes with weapons when Eddie Gilbert runs out with Jarrett and Lawler to attack the Moondogs, as a response to Doug getting beaten up.
  20. Lawler does all the talking while Todd Champion stands nearby. He recaps Doug Gilbert teaming with him and Jarrett when JYD no-showed the night before in Kennett, MO, and we get a few clips. They did a big injury angle with Gilbert.
  21. They both do a little trash talking before the match, and the stipulation is that the loser gets a dozen eggs smashed on his head. Christopher loses, and Davis decides to break the first egg himself, then let 11 fans break the remaining ones. I cracked up when he told one fan they couldn't use government cheese! Christopher is awesome during all of this.
  22. Their colors are even red and yellow. Wow. The WWF really does feel like it suddenly became really cold post-Summerslam.
  23. Awesome match! Young Tamura is great. Amazing struggle with the matwork, and I love how resourceful Tamura is every time you expect the vet, Yamazaki, to have his number. I'm assuming this was a big upset. Immediately one of my favorite UWFI matches.
