  1. Another time limit draw for these guys. I think I like the Cyberslam match better, but there are some awesome moments here, like the Scorpio monkey flip into the crowd. Yeah, the table spot took a long time to set up, but it worked, so it's hard to fault these guys too much. Another example of Scorp leaving a lot of his offense at home when working Sabu to get Sabu's style over. There is a ridiculous moment on the floor where he's selling by trying to force himself to throw up. I tend to like small shows over big shows, TV over PPV, and rare matches over widely available matches. It's a bias I'm definitely self-aware about. But I think it's deserved here. In spite of a few questionable moments, this is a really strong match. It might have been better with time calls. That may have telegraphed the draw, but not if they were just doing it all the time.
  2. I like other trios matches I've seen so far on this set much better, but this one is really good too. There are no weak links in this match, and Felino is probably the biggest standout for me.

  4. It's interesting to see the difference side-by-side in how these guys work in Mexico and how they work on tour. They still do most of the same spots, but you get a more rushed version of their match and lose some of the good stuff. Still a good introduction to these guys for people who probably hadn't seen them before (Well, this was a J-Cup rematch, but you know what I mean ...), but nowhere near as good as their best. Not sure why these guys like to use chairs so much in their matches though. They are fine without them.
  5. Bill Alfonso is upset about being called Fonzie. JT Smith sings "Fly Me To The Moon". Taz begs ECW fans to take a bath and stop drinking (Good luck there ...). Tommy Dreamer bangs his head into a locker and blades hardaway. Perry Saturn delivers this serious promo which Kronus follows by just saying "Bitch!", which is funny. Shane Douglas goes on about Dick-Flair-Stamford-Connecticut-something-or-other. Kimona Wanalaya promises to expose the biggest scandal in wrestling history over the weekend. Raven makes himself useful for once, delivering a somewhat okay promo.
  6. D-Von Dudley debuts by hitting JT Smith over the head with a chair and does the same to Little Guido. Brief clip.
  7. We get a couple of minutes of exclusive footage of Bret throwing the cameraman out of his dressing room. He then does an interview from Germany making some valid points about the finish of the Ironman match, even if he does come across as a bit whiny. I have to ask if the problems Shawn had could have been helped by Bret endorsing him as champion. Bret also said he could never work for another company because it would be a step down. One thing I love about Bret is that it always seems like he's shooting when he talks, whether he is or not. I'm pretty convinced these are his true feelings, whether they are or not.
  8. Last few minutes only. Earl Hebner was bumped and Savio Vega hit Goldust with the IC title and pinned him. But Tim White was helping Hebner up and DQ'd Savio Vega, so the IC title ended up being vacated.
  9. The Sunny as sex symbol push is in full swing by this point. This is the pretty famous video of her to the Boney M. song. I guess this also the height of her career, around the time of being "the most downloaded celebrity on AOL", or whatever the stat was, and I think she was on People's Most Beautiful People list too.
  10. Love this for Cornette throwing shoot comments at Razor Ramon, as Hall and Nash had signed with WCW by this time. "I see the career of Razor Ramon after April 28 taking a severe and deep downward spiral. Razor Ramon may soon cease to exist. Razor Ramon has made some very bad career choices." I'm not a fan of most Cornette WWF promos, but this one is great.
  11. Hell of a spotfest, but also a brutal match. I do like the moment where Sabu asks a fan to help him up, and the fan obliges. Not my cup of tea, but I can see why someone would like it. It would be nice to see Whipwreck win a match some time.
  12. I am cracking up at the two girls in the audience having waaaay too much dancing to "Highway To Hell" early on. EPIC opening. Scorpio challenges Bubba Ray to a dance off, which is amazing. I can't put it into words, but this is amazing. Thanks to DYLAN WACO for suggesting this go on the set. Seriously, wow. Scorpio is kinda getting his ass handed to him and attacks Bubba Ray in the middle of a breakdancing routine and then we have a match. Scorpio takes Bubba Ray's glasses off and wears them to mock him before choking him with the strap. Then we get Scorpio torturing Bubba Ray for several minutes while taunting the crowd, specifically one guy in the front row who is REALLY into this match. Bubba ends up getting a legit bloodied nose, I think off of Scorpio's awesome dive to the floor, and gets in a few Big Bossman-like offensive moves in his comeback. Anyone who liked the Rockers/Rougeaus London match will LOVE this.
  13. Very good match, but Toyota is definitely my least favorite great wrestler. I try, but wow. Does she have to throw around Kong the same way she throws around everyone else? Does she have to be so fast-paced all the time? It's like she doesn't know how to make anything standout because she doesn't give anything she does, no matter how impressive, time to resonate. It seems like her matches don't have as much heat as those of her peers unless she's teasing false finishes. The match is good in spite of her involvement.
  14. Joined in progress. Diesel does commentary at ringside. Diesel: "Where's the Kliq now, Vince? Where's the Kliq now?" Diesel is wearing a Shawn Michaels t-shirt and they brawl after the match before Diesel hits Shawn with the belt. In an awesome touch, he returns to the broadcast booth to casually collect his shades before walking off.
  15. Warrior does get a tremendous pop for his RAW appearance, much better than the one at Mania. Goldust comes out and suggests that they play games. Goldust suggests that Warrior dress up as superman and that they fly away together in the sunset. Then, Warrior says "Whatever you're into, I don't give a shit", which gets bleeped. Warrior then says he has a full length feature for him: " ... me kicking your ass from beginning to end." Warrior loved to swear when he returned!
  16. Just the aftermath. This was pretty cool, as they had Yokozuna do a stretcher job for Vader, and actually took him out on a forklift! The end of Yokozuna meaning anything in the WWF.
  17. Jerry Lawler does his own commentary while wrestling, holding a mic while wrestling the match. Lawler got in some great lines: * "Dr. Isaac Yankem has me taking Flinstone vitamins. I don't feel any better, but I can stop my car with my feet." * "I heard you're so ugly that you went to your proctologist and he stuck his finger in your mouth." * "Would the owner of a 1973 Ford Pinto please remove it from the lot? It's not blocking anybody, it's just a complete piece of crap." Lawler screaming into the mic while taking a hiptoss and back body drop is great too. Funny!
  18. Santo does an amazing dive on Felino, who is laying on the floor, but aside from that, I was a little disappointed in this match until the third fall, which is awesome and pretty fast-paced with lots of false finishes. I also like the finish, with Felino pretty aggressively countering the camel clutch. Not really a complete match, though.
  19. This is great! I didn't know if I should expect a Michinoku Pro-style match, which this isn't. It's way more of a typical NJ juniors-style tag, which isn't a bad thing. Otani's team seems focused on taking out Liger's knee, and there are some Liger/Taka interactions in the midst of all that that really make you want a singles match between those two. Liger's team is more focused on taking out Otani's arm, which is taped up going into this match as it is. Otani and Samurai continue what for me so far is the feud of the year, as every match that has had them on opposite sides has been outstanding.
  20. Some podiatrist is with the Blue Meanie talking about Raven's foot. Sounds thrilling, huh. Also, Missy Hyatt continues to act as skanky as possible. Phillip Anthony from 'The City' on ABC sends a message to the Bubba Ray Dudley. I guess the JT Smith quote is the best part: "Hey Hack Myers, #1, you smell bad. #2, your mother dresses you funny. #3, your breath smells." -- JT Smith
  21. Kind of a weak promo, as it seemed clear at this point they were out to make Shawn a completely different guy than he was when he got over. Sugary sweet and too deferential to Bret, which I guess they were doing because they were worried about Bret fans turning on him. Still, it didn't work.
  22. Just the last few minutes. Mankind attacks the Undertaker for a DQ finish, setting up an on-and-off program for the next few years.

  24. Lots worth saying about this one, both good and bad. Without the iron man stip, this would be far more fondly remembered if it happened to be a match that just happened to go 60 minutes, but I think they wanted to use the length of the main event as a selling point for the show. Also, had it taken place in front of a more wrestling-friendly crowd in the Southeast, it would have had more heat. Still, this is a really good wrestling match, and Michaels' entrance and post-match celebration are images that will forever be entrenched in WWF folklore. Bret does have a strong storyline point about the way he lost his title. Since when are world title matches that go to a draw restarted?
  25. Good comedy in the pre-in-ring stuff, as Piper chases Goldust down a Los Angeles highway in a white Bronco. When the match spills into the ring, the action is great and has more heat than anything on the show. Shocked reaction at times, like when Goldust kisses Piper, and when Piper strips him down to women's lingerie. I actually thought this was really well done.
