  1. OMG! Bob Orton had Hepatitis B and told Johnny Ace before Armageddon and still bled all over Undertaker in the ring without anyone bothering to tell Undertaker about it. I've gotta wonder how Ace keeps his job with stuff like that happening. That's scary shit. All from Meltzer.
  2. If the woman was wearing leather chaps and carrying a Bible, I am officially terrified of you, Marty.
  3. Eddy was only three inches taller than Rey. Eddy was credible against big guys.
  4. Rey is over because of his size, not in spite of it. I'm surprised more people don't understand that.
  5. They're the reason you left TSM, or at least one of the reasons. Of course you've run across them. DVDVR has tons of them as well.
  6. Stop arguing with people who agree with you, damnit.
  7. He has a point. Did you know that other wrestlers besides Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior existed before 1997? And that other wrestlers existed before *them* as well? Fascinating ...
  8. I don't know who it would be. I think a major new arrival (Austin, Rock, Jericho, Goldberg, Lesnar) will be needed to make it happen, and even then, there really aren't any guarantees. But hopefully, no one is hanging on to the fallacy that they are building to a Jeff Jarrett title loss.
  9. Right. A one or even two week spike is pretty meaningless. If they can sustain that 4.3 rating for 3 months going into WM, that's another story.
  10. If they have any plans of pushing Rey on top, Angle was the right choice for champ. Angle or Benoit, anyway, but Benoit was tied up.
  11. I still think Foley was just saying, "Flair is an asshole and said things to me that crushed me," more than he was complaining about the way he was used.
  12. It isn't about the ratings at all, actually. They don't even matter, nor have they for years with them not running against a competing wrestling show on Monday nights, and especially now, when they will make exactly $0.00 off of Monday night's 4.3 rating. And besides, the very same people can't say in one breath to just be a fan and enjoy it and then point to higher ratings to support their case. You either ignore it all or you embrace it all; you can't do both at the same time. If No Way Out and Wrestlemania do record buyrates this year, obviously they've done something right. If not, they haven't.
  13. This has been a rollercoaster of a week for lots of people involved with wrestling. Obviously, let's hope he recovers.
  14. WWE.com even announced the number! I bet that's not something they'll continue doing.
  15. RAW did a big rating, which I attribute to the title change and the possibility of Lita getting naked (which she did). I don't think it'll sustain, but we'll see.
  16. No, he didn't. I was thinking it would have more of a NJPW vs UWFI vibe. Why was that successful where the modern attempts haven't been? What's the difference? That's an honest question.
  17. I have no idea how they're going to do the Rumble either. I'm expecting a RVD/Carlito feud that accomplishes nothing, though. I'd say they'll have that match at Mania, but I bet they blow it off on free TV before they even make it to Mania.
  18. His website.
  19. An MMA invasion storyline would probably get over enormously, given time and the right type of focus, but it would require guys like HHH and Taker to not just job, but get practically buried, which is why I don't see it happening.
  20. Not content to merely burn bridges with WWE, Test decides to pour gasoline all over any remnants of the bridge.
  21. Teke makes a good point. I wonder if this will go as far as announcing and pushing television and house show lineups in advance, to see who is moving tickets and who isn't.
  22. Precisely. I liked Edge at one point, but when someone is considered part of the next wave of up and coming stars for nearly a decade, then chances are they most likely aren't going to reach that level.
  23. Haas had problems with one writer (Dave Lagana), but no one else apparently. I hate to keep making the WCW comparisons, but keeping a bunch of guys under contract so they can't go anywhere else with no intentions to push them is exactly like WCW.
  24. If this thread is any indication, the ratings will probably be pretty good.
  25. According to Bryan Alvarez at the F4W boards, The Marine isn't coming out for a long time, which does admittedly make the title change not *quite* as bad as it otherwise might have been, considering that they poured $15 million into it.
