I feel like people on this list need to have something remarkable on their resume, not just something that's fundamentally sound.

Him shaking his own head needlessly when applying the Tongan Death Grip made me dislike him in WCW. I think he was a solid worker, but never had a single memorable performance that I can recall. I'm happy to watch something if someone is able to point it out to me. Do you put GREAT MATCHES in all caps to troll me, Matt?

I'd be interested in your take on my Jumbo question in his thread if you want to tackle it.

The more I see of Gordy, the worse he looks, primarily because he had a way of making everything he touched awfully boring in All Japan.

El Samurai should be seriously considered for everyone's ballots, and I agree that he's a much better candidate than Ultimo.

Henry is an underrated big man wrestler in a time when that type of wrestler isn't as appreciated because of the lopsided love for faster paced wrestlers. But comparing him to Vader, One Man Gang, Boss Man, etc., he loses something. He stands out more now because he's a rare breed. I need to think more about Henry. He had a long period of time where he was not very good. In his defense, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm not sure Terry Gordy was better.

Takayama's pre-All Japan career is a bit underrated, I find. I enjoyed plenty of matches he had in UWFI as early as 1992. I'll come back and provide specific match recommendations.

He won't make my list. Massively overrated. Seems to only put his heart and soul into something if he thinks he is being booked precisely as he should be booked.

I didn't realize you thought Flair did anything well. I kid, I kid.

Guys, please let me know when you are ready for more. I am holding off until I hear what you liked and didn't like before moving ahead.

I agree that this gives some much-appreciated balance. I will say again though that I don't think there's any sinister motivation to the lucha favorites not being looked at as critically as they should be. It's a style that is new to most people. It will happen, but it will happen with time. I don't see anything wrong with letting it play out. Anyway, might El Dandy be the Hall & Oates of wrestling, where he has a few absolutely killer tracks and tons of filler?

I think individuals should be considered for their work in tag teams.

Austin drags Vince into the ring and wants the Titantron to fire up footage from the celebration earlier tonight. Vince grovels for mercy and famously soils himself, starts crying and even starts praying. Vince goes way above and beyond the call of duty to get this over but gets the BANG 3:16 toy and a stunner. I think they were out to see just how far they could go, and they definitely pushed the envelope here. But I still think this was uncomfortable viewing.

Austin gets a phone call from Vince in his office telling him his time is up. Vince gets his limo driver on the phone and tells him to scream if he sees Austin. Vince is out to make a quick getaway in his limo. But Austin cuts him off and wheels him back to his office. He does various things like make him squeal like a pig. They have multiple segments in Vince's office which drag because they gave them too many segments.

Tiger Ali Singh insults the crowd and offers to pay $500 cash to anyone who can come in the ring and swallow the kielbasa. They find a woman who I think had a rep for this sort of thing, but anyway, she puts the entire kielbasa down her throat. The Godfather makes his yearbook debut and interrupts all of this to point out that she used to be one of his hos and one thing leads to another and we have a showstealer feud in place. I'm guessing those matches were brutal.

Vince gets a visit from Mankind and Mr. Socko! Vince tells Mick he's so happy to see him, as The Stooges have left the room. They end up snacking on stuff from the vending machine and Mankind suggests Vince rehire him since when he rehired Foley they became best friends. Then he tries to play Twister with him and Vince starts screaming at him while Mick calls him a party pooper. Hilarious!

Austin has a chat with a couple of cops and gives them autographs. Vince sees all of this and freaks out at how friendly the cops are with Austin.

Chyna gets arrested for violating a restraining order put on her by Mark Henry.

DX is friends with Motley Crue a decade after they were popular! Cool! I wonder if DX is also friends with Poison.

[1998-10-19-WWF-Raw] Vince McMahon, Jerry Brisco and Pat Patterson
Loss replied to Loss's topic in October 1998
Vince wants Boss Man to get his family out of town. Vince insists that the cameraman stay there (nice touch!) and we see Austin outside still shining up his gun. This is a little uncomfortable. -
RAW starts off with hilarious celebratory music, confetti, balloons ... the whole shebang. The entire roster is summoned to the ring and wow do I hate it when they do that. Still, this was the first time so it's not as bad here. Vince announces that Survivor Series will have a one-night tournament to crown a new champion. Vince tells Austin if he ever comes into a WWF arena again, he'll have to buy a ticket. Vince says it was BETTER THAN SEX to fire Austin. He said let that be a warning to everyone in the ring to never cross the boss. Austin shows up on the Titantron and has a gun!
