I like this match if it had the WM 14 ending as the WM match where Austin wins the title....of course that would mean Austin doesnt get hurt by Owen in August and Shawn back not hurt.... So for these two, except for the last few minutes this is their best together as they are both in GREAT SHAPE... Also, kudos to Shawn for handling the challenged kid who ran in....done with class...for Shawn in 97 that is saying something.

O'Haire came out like a bad ass kind of "psycho" during his Natural Born Killers angle and his tag teams during that time... They never gave him a shot in WWE...his smart character that Piper was helping to get going in 2003/4 could have been great if given a psycho side to it as well.

Complete opposite, but still relating to a backdrop.. The single WORST backdrop in the HISTORY of this sport is Hogan's from Andre on the floor at Mania 3. Hogan goes for piledriver, Andre takes like 30 seconds to stand up, Hogan slides down his back SLOWLY and falls to floor, and sells it like he was 10 feet in the air.. I was 8 and knew it was a shit move.... If you dont remember it or if it was THAT bad...look it up.

Yeah, I did some more research and it is the May match that gets all teh love... But I am gonna watch the first one (4/26) first as I think I have seen teh May match a while back... EDIT- FUCK, I have the 4/26 match right now, will hunt down teh May one....if its better than April then should be a classic. EDIT 2 - Did they have a No DQ 2/3 Falls match as well besides the 2 listed in April and May? I have a disc that has that match labeled on it...from a Portland early 80s set.

I was a BIG fan of the Palumbo "biker" gimmick and was pissed it didnt go further...he was good in teh ring and fit that character welll...especially when adding McCool to it...dont know why it got killed off....

Crockett used Willie Nelson for the video for Magnum at hte start of the Superstars on the Superstation show riding around ATL and hangin with the chicks at some bar , all 80'sd up.. as they had an interview with Willie on the show as well... That may be the other one you were thinking of....

I will jump on there tonight and take a look... I have one of my PC's hooked up to my old school 36" CRT TV in the man cave, so old videos on youtube or local to my machine play great on there and I can sit on my large chair and watch them... Which channel was it?

My wife Loved Big Daddy V....me? Eh, he was OK...King Mabel, outside Summerslam match, was a great heel...you could tell he was trying hard to get that over and looked like an asshole..and put some good beatdowns on... Also like the MOM vs. Razor / Savio...Take the bad outfits out and Mabel kicked some ass in that one...underrated match to me...not a "Great" match, but really good and not talked about.

Wanted to start a Portland (PNW) thread to get some of the best matches here brought up by fans who watched it... There are a TON of matches I have questions about, but for me, first up is 1980...what were some of the great matches from that year? All other years apply as well obviously, but 1980 is the first I wanted to know about from those that know it well!

Will, Gotta disagree with you....teh AWA Title Martel wore, although HUGE and a cool belt doesnt hold a candle to the look of the one they used before this one and went back to after Hansen ran this over...that belt was incredible, different and screamed WORLD TITLE... Martel Belt (others wore it to, Gagne / Bock / Wanz / Tsuruta): Hansen and After: I know others disagree...but I gotta go with the post Hansen...I think the belt was used before the Martel one as well...

Another one I was a big fan of was The Alaskans in the AWA (the Rick Renslow & Dave Wagner version)...liked their snow man look with the huge red coats and big hats when they came to the ring as well as the bearded outdoorsman look they had in the ring. Nothing special about them in ring, but was a fan when I saw them...they put a lot of work into being basically a jobber tag team that didnt get many wins...unless they were featured somewhere else in a prominent role?

OK....GREAT show from my second favorite era of AWA...BUT.. How do you mention Ted Knight and not bring up Too Close For Comfort....especially with his daughters on there.....giving young Smack his early "rise"!

Been watching the Embry in USWA 1991 stuff on Youtube...one thing that bugs me... Are any of the big matches they show clips of available in full anywhere else? Would like to see these in full to really get into the feud completely.

Fuck you clique...here anyway.... God forbid a few week reign with Douglas as champ while Shawn gets better and Razor chases for a while. Razor was in teh break up feud tagging with Kid all the time, NO NEED to be IC Champ....let Douglas and another duke this one out for a while... This goes back to me saying Owen should have got the title via nefarious means after pinning Shawn at the Sept IYH and then beating him in a "held-up" rematch via nefarious means again.....
