This is 100% true...I also didnt know about Backlund for a while and when I got into WWF in 1985, The Sheik seemed like the only champion before Hogan there ever was!! I would love to read that...as I thought they did a good job doing a quick build, getting Backlund injured and having a good reason for Sheik going over that night.....plus his rematches with Hogan and matches with Slaughter made him look more credible on that short term basis....

I wouldnt say out of nowhere he won the title from Backlund in '83...he came in like a lot of other challengers of the time, and faced Backlund a few times for the title...finally they had the Persian Club challenge on TV, where Sheik attacked and hurt Backlund's back...leading the match in Dec where he wins the title due to Skaaland tossing in the towel due to Backlund's back and his fear he'd seriously injure it...

Always wonder what Sting is thinking as Flair is running at him about to jump knowing his knee is fucked...."Oh shit, here he comes...Ric, dont dont...." I swear when he lands (Flair), Sting says to him "I'm hurt" or something to that effect..

Yeah man, congrats for sure. It really is a ton of fun. Those early days and weeks are a shellshock and a shitshow (literally) but once you settle in, it is pretty damn great. It's all what you make of it and from my experience, the baby will take on the personality of the parents...so as long as you are calm and relaxed about things, the baby should (mostly) follow suit. Yes, to break it down: Birth - 4 months - SUCKS 4 Months - 2 years - Cool 2 years - where we are now - SUCKS and Cool... SO good luck!!!!

Why is it that Austin NEVER pins Bret during this entire feud? I never got that part of it....at least the next month or during the Street Fight have him pin Bret.....as much as he had turned and was a badass now....he never got the pin..

Interesting listen as he goes into detail about each year and why certain guys were picked... Cant think of his name right now or who did the interview....may have been RF come to think of it.

To add to that......I think third that for that invasion to be good, the WWF guys, including the big guns (like Austin / Rock / etc..) would have to be willing to lose cleanly here and there to make it as good as it could be....they werent going to do that, especially for guys that were trying HARD to put them out of business... As bad as the Invasion was, in real life, with most WCW big guys missing and hte WWF stars never willing to let them become over if they were there, it never would have been great.... The Nitro thing is shocking...WCW had a rep for losing money, but the Nitro show was still getting 2's. That number with WWE's name and peronnell behind it now, and the knowledge they were printing money, shocks me that channels would still say no unless it was just due to not wanting wrestling on their channel or not doing their due dillegence and really looking into things...

Maybe it will change as the day goes on and the weeks go on? Plus, later era Global in great VQ will be nice to have. We can only hope!

Pre-kid I used to watch ALL THE TIME...basically at night, on the weekends, evenings after work...wife never cared....after kid....yeah, BIG change.

There is a larger size set of discs from the 80's that is all over the place but mostly into the second half and the Continental years that has all kinds of good stuff on it from Continental on it... Also varous TV's out there... I dont know how much other stuff..but that is what know of / have from that era... Also some from the 70's and early 80's in another GOLDMINE Series of sets....I dont know a ton about them... Oh, and as for selling Boon on it....watch it!! How's that for selling!!!

You know what...I thought I was the only one that was pissed that Savage didnt get his shot vs. Slaughter.. And as for the Warrior...just cause he yelled "NOOOO" to Sherri doesnt escape the fact that he was ducking Savage by saying no..and the fans cheered? Dylan, What are your thoughts on Chance Prophet? Both his look / interview style and his in ring work? Do you think that his "look" affects him? By this I mean, he's got a GREAT killer lookin face paint all the time and cuts some cool psycho type promos, but his body isnt very athletic and his ring gear doenst help that part of it.....so if you've never seen him before, like what happened to me a few years ago..you see these really good promos from this really interesting looking guy, but then see him in full and it takes a LOT of that mystique away...
