  1. It was far from a burial. In fact, it was as even and giving a match as you could hope for. How often in recent years has anyone kicked out of the Pedigree without any shenanigans (a long delay or something like that) in something other than a Wrestlemania main event? And I agree that it was a hell of a match before the clusterfuckery.
  2. I'll try making some calls tomorrow to see if the reckless driving charge is the August 19th accident and get more details about it/them. Also, after what we learned about Jeff's arrest, it wouldn't shock me at all if Matt had a lot of pills without prescriptions.
  3. Yup. So that makes it two car accidents in two days. Four recent driving incidents total (2 DW/UIs, the reckless driving charge, and this accident). I have this sinking feeling that in those last two he blew a clean breathalyzer and was let go (figuratively speaking on the reckless driving charge).
  4. At the tapings or ever? He's a 62 year-old alcoholic with a history of admitted steroid/ostensible HGH abuse who routinely turns unhealthy shades of red. If he doesn't have a heart issue then he's a walking miracle.
  5. My ongoing coverage at Bleacher Report has various details from the State Trooper brought in to evaluate Hardy's sobriety and a look at the police report.
  6. Unless it was added it to one of the later versions of the video, I'm sad that Loss didn't point out the black & white "home movie" of 77 year-old Stu separating "little Bret & Owen" in the Dungeon.
  7. I had a feeling that was coming. I have a gut feeling/hope that the ending line was someone else's idea, because this whole angle has ended up in pretty much the opposite place from where it started. I think it would've even been slightly better (not good, but better) if he referred to himself as "CM Punk" in that line if just to continue the "this is who I am/what you see is what you get" theme.
  8. HA. Tim, thank you for linking that, it's one of my favorite bad promos and I didn't realize it was online. Christopher acting like Samantha is a young bombshell is a tremendous WTF moment.
  9. With this being number one and the FMW/WWA trios from L.A. dropping off I'm not sure if I can articulate my thoughts more coherently than "rabble rabble rabble rabble" for now.
  10. "We love head drops clap clap clap clap clap" chant for a start It's one thing to enjoy them as an exciting part of a match but chanting about it takes things to an entirely diffrent level of "ugh whear's the mute button" Really? I don't remember that at all.
  11. I get why Gabe wanted Cide and Ki in that match but it really should have been Kobashi and Cide or Ki vs Joe and Lethal. As for Joe vs Kobashi I don't remember any douchey fan behavior. The pockets of "this is awesome" chants would shut down as everyone else reacted to the match. As the match itself goes it's been a while since I've watched it but it was an amazing experience live. I don't think anyone quite expected Kobashi to work the match like it was a Budokan main event and that fed the crowd reaction.

  13. After the WWF took over the KPLR slot at the end of '83, the St. Louis Wrestling Club ran off a three hour block of Central States, AWA, and WCCW TV.
  14. Zennie updated the article. That wasn't in the original version, along other other stuff like Hardy having a suspended prison sentence.
  15. The Pearl was Ranger Ross as a theoretical replacement Muta. He lasted one match.
  16. Dogs can sniff through coffee. Drug dogs wouldn't go over every single package, though. Does FedEx use their own drug-sniffing dogs? How likely would it be for them to be trained to sniff prescription painkillers? A quick Googling found me the USPS's "drug packaging profile," maybe FedEx uses something similar?: I dunno if FedEx uses a similar policy or what, but only the address, odor parts, and maybe "source state" parts really seem like strong criteria. I'm pretty sure I've sent plenty of packages that fit the other three that didn't contain drugs. Well, the circumstances of the arrest weren't public until today so I guess no reporter would have known anything but I would think that someone working on the case would know what happened to the sender and it's a pretty important question to ask.
  17. No, it was over that and the other drugs they found when they raided his house.
  18. I'm trying to get my original source for it to find and send me his copy so I can upgrade it. It would be even better if someone could find Tommy Noe and get his copy.
  19. I wrote it up at Bleacher Report combining some of the older details not mentioned today with what came up in the Fayetteville Observer story. It totally blows my mind that the package in question was a coffee can filled with painkillers sent by a fan from Florida. I'm curious how FedEx determined it was a suspicious package, as well as why the fan hasn't been charged (in Florida or federally) or why we have heard nothing about it if he was.
  20. Well, if Sasaki ever gains steam, he made his case in the aughts and is a better candidate than the juniors with all capital roman letter names.
  21. They wouldn't have to slip him cash under the table: It was all over within 90 days, so he was still getting his downside as severance in addition to working allowed indies. I'm sure he got a legit release and was then re-signed to make everything tidy. Standard procedure took care of the rest.
  22. Well, he was fired. That they had plans to bring him back doesn't mean that he wasn't fired. By that standard Jamie Noble wasn't fired and neither was Brian Pillman.
  23. Has anyone (who wouldn't seen as hostile...) ever asked Dave why he changed the eligibility requirements *immediately after Angle was inducted*? I can't help but be at least a little cynical about it. Why do it a few months earlier?
  24. I have a pro shot raw footage (w/ commentary and a time counter) version of the full show minus the opener. Really good match.
