I thought this was good. I liked Breeze bringing some story telling to the match. Breeze did a good job eating Itami's kicks.

This is tonight. The card seems a little bloated where matches I want to see get time might not get it.

Parv has done this on Titans too. We were astute enough to realize he watched a cage match while we watched a regular match.- 22 replies

PWSS Top 6 Title Changes w/ Tim, Will & Kris

Just an FYI, but Meltzer and Sempervive dismissed this on Observer Radio. -
It might be the norm, it doesn't make it right. I don't expect them to go 100%, not even close. I expect better story telling . An example of that would be what Gedo, or the Young Lions did. Just a better use of storytelling.

1. Sho Tanaka vs. Jay White I really enjoyed this. White's arm work was pretty good. Tanaka sold it big here and made it mean so much more than it would. My complaint about Tanaka prior was that he oversold at times. When his opponent is there, Tanaka can match it. Finish was kinda bland with the build. 2 3/4 * 2. Tiger Mask IV & Yohei Komatsu vs. Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish Good stuff all around. I loved the Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard homage spot. 2 1/2* 3. Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Jushin Thunder Liger vs. Manabu Nakanishi, Tomoaki Honma & Mascara Dorada Another fun bout. They really have kind of mastered the multi man match with their roster. 2 1/2 * 4. Hirooki Goto, Katsuyori Shibata, KUSHIDA & Alex Shelley vs. Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, Matt & Nick Jackson I can see people getting tricked into thinking this was the best match on the card. Their was a lot of spots that got over with the crowd. We got the suck it stuff. It was fun. It was good and actually built well. It didn't come close to having the backbone like the opening match had though. I did think the Time Splitters worked their asses off in this. 2 3/4 * 5.Kazuchika Okada & Gedo vs. Bad Luck Fale & Tama Tonga Pretty nothing match. The thing I liked the most out of this was the Gedo-Fale big man little man interactions. Guess what they aren't building to that match. This is a prime example when people talk about being a smart worker you can still have entertaining stuff. I get how people get got up in the athleticism of stuff and how it has evolved into what is wrestling nowadays. I don't think many people will say Gedo > than Okada as a worker. Well here Gedo outworked him by using his mind to tell a compelling story. 1 1/2* 6. Yuji Nagata, Togi Makabe, Tetsuya Naito & Captain New Japan vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano & YOSHI-HASHI My favorite part of this match was Captai NJ and Yanos interactions, and nakamura and Nagata's exchanges. Naito is FIP and and is fine in the role. He's fine because he really just needs to do a basic sell job nothing nuanced like selling a limb. The Makabe and Ishii exchanges looked weak. With that said they were able to execute to a real satisfying finish. 2 1/2* Hiroshi Tanahashi & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Yujiro Takahashi & Kenny Omega 2 1/4* A pair of heels that don't resonate at all with me..This was ok. I really wasn't expecting much though to be honest. This was another solid card. Their is a lot of talent on the cards. One thing that is jarring seeing these houseshows is how much harder the likes of Cena,Daniel Bryan,Dean Ambrose, and in their heyday Ric Flair, and Tito Santana based on attending houseshows, handheld footage that's around, and if they worked WWE televised houseshows. The NJPW guys work the houseshows kinda like Bret Hart did. Do enough to keep the fans happy. I'm not bouncing people out of my top 100 GWOAT because of this criteria. It could possibly kick them out of my top 10. This is just a small sampling size, but their is a trend where the undercard is out working the main events on this tour.I know their is a lot of Tanahashi love out there. To me his effort on these type of houseshows should be a blemish against him being a top 10 guy.

Chad I'll rewatch both of them either Monday or Tuesday. I know Parv loved the Arn bout. Then i'll listen to the show so I don't have any bias thoughts before I watch them.- 22 replies

Does Parv get more excited talking about Arn/Windham or Martel or drop kicking ring announcers from San Fransisco?- 22 replies

Their is a poll on wwe.com asking who is more deserving of a title shot. Bryan or Reigns and DB has a 90% approval rating.

I can see myself tune out the day Johnny Sorrow can't even defend the bad booking.

I'll also put over the Tito-Valentine feud. One of the best ever. When we interviewed Tito for Titans I said to Tito if they don't include that feud in the Networks Rivalries doc it's a travesty. -
We just did a Titans pod on the 3 HOF pieces and your thoughts totally echo the show. Avoid the Brody match at all costs.

I'll defend Tim's Vader-Sting choice. I was a freshman in college at the time. I was home for the summer. 92 was my last time I got a ppv till 96 GAB. Vader was a guy we were conditioned to never believe would win the world title. Fat guys could challenge for the belt , but never win it . We saw it time and time again. They had a little angle where Vader broke Sting's ribs, but the heat was on Rude/Sting. Even the tag tournament seemed more important because Watts pushed the MVC so big. So at the finish people were shocked when Vader went over . Their was a big hush that went over the crowd . At home I was stunned. -
I loved that Ernie Ladd promo. It was so layered. How he slow built it to maximize the impact. Great stuff even with an Uncle Tom reference.

HHH will also be doing the job last year, this, next year. He's the authority figure who's going to get his just desserts . Of course it's going to happen at Mania. It's not just a HHH thing it's an Undertaker thing, Sting thing. and Rock thing. Again it goes back to the booking of the WWE. I'm not advocating it , but until WWE gets out of its booking formula it is what it is. It's not just a HHH thing.

I agree SLL when he was an active wrestler he sabotaged a lot of people. He protected his position. I think taking that element out of it. It becomes less personal for him when it comes to dealing with talent. I think his motivations are different from being a wrestler versus being CEO.

I can't believe you all no sold Zellner's Canadian accent. -
I...really don't understand what the point of this comment is. Like, not at all. We all will, obviously. I'm just saying it's very weird - especially given the general attitudes people have had towards HHH until recently - that people are starting to line up to give him the benefit of the doubt when there's no real evidence that's he's doing anything differently than he ever has. It is also weird that this image seems to be emerging that because he isn't the most powerful figure in the company - and has, in fact, been on the losing end of some power struggles recently - means he wields no power, and we, in fact, have no idea what WWE TV looks like when HHH exerts power on (and that it doesn't have an alarming tendency to suck). Is it really crazy for me to be suspicious of the guy with the long, established track record of being bad at his job because of a demonstrated, consistent failure to understand how pro wrestling works, and to find it strange when people just start having his back out of nowhere? The 1st part is that he was such a selfish worker and only caring about himself. That he'd likely being selfish as CEO and would be screwing people over by embezzling money. It's my sarcastic way of saying judging how someone works is a way he's going to run the company. If Misterio was CEO would he be the most giving boss? The 2nd part I get what you're saying. I'm just at my wits end of creative in the WWE. I know I'm getting bad creative going forward in the WWE. HHH's baby NXT seems to be doing a better job at that. Does that mean it'll translate when he.'s the guy. No we have no idea. It's more of I'm hoping he makes the proper changes. Will he make the proper changes when he's in charge . If I had to bet it would be no. My whole reason of jumping into the thread was it feltthat HHH was getting the brunt of the criticisms while it's Vince that has gotten us here.
-
If we are going to draw conclusions on HHH's ring work and how he'll run the company. Based on ringwork and him not putting over a ton of guys. I'd say he's embezzling from the company. I don't even like the guy. I 'll find out in a few years if he has the skills
-
I do . Ultimately they were going to have Brock kill Daniel. Would Brock gotten over to the degree he did in 2014 if Bryan was his 2nd target and not Cena. My answer is no. We would get similar to the Shemus reaction .
-
PC , but you can connect with HDMI cables and watch on your tv.
-
This is what exactly the WWE doesn't understand. The people thought the Wrestlemania win was the springboard for something meaningful. Until this happens you'll see a lot of upset fans at arenas.
-
I'm not defending his choices as a wrestler. He's a guy I've never liked. I'll just wait and see on what type of leader he is.
-
That 's a fair argument . I'm not advocating that he's been amazing in his role. I feel HHH with Ryan Ward have done a good job with the NXT product. Granted he's the #2 guy in creative . I think though we won't get an idea on what he's truly capeable of until Vince, and to a lesser extent Kevin Dunn are out of the way. Just by looking at NXT he sees the landscape changing. He's come to realize that talent comes in all shapes, sizes, and looks. This is a big leap from 5 years ago.
