The Andre humiliation of managers continues.

This was a blast. The handcuff to the cage was a nice little wrinkle to the match, but played a huge part in the story of the match. Dundee is a master of stip matches and this is no exception. Embry was good here, but Dundee was tremendous. I liked the near cuffing spots, the 1st one where Dundee does a complete number on Embry's body. Another cool handcuff spot was when Dundee fought off Embry the whole time. I also dug how Dundee beat Embry with his boot. If we got some blood it would have put it over the top.

[1991-03-29-USWA Texas] Jeff Jarrett vs Tom Prichard (Cage)
shoe replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
I enjoyed this match and have enjoyed this feud. We start out early with the Dr. putting Jarrett into the cage with normal cage match spots . The exception though we get no blood. So then the match settles down into a regular match that so happens in a cage. So we pretty much have Pritchard work over Jarrett and Jarrett sells beautifully. The finish was fantastic for what it was.- 7 replies

I was reading an old Observer from 91. On the last USWA show at the Sportatorium that Embry turned himself face so he could sell gimmicks and make another pat day on the way out. That is awesome!!!

I thought it was a solid tag though you expect more given the talent involved. Loss point about the MVC in 92 is right on.

I enjoyed this a lot. It seemed like a really hot finishing sequence. Still I think you need to see the base if the match to put it into context. Though the heat was out of control.

I thought they worked much better together in this match, plus the story being told was also more clear in this bout.

I agree that low key Hogan is so much better. Man Hogan had some shitty movies, and it had to be hard to promote these duds.

I agree with the complaints about the placement of the match on the show. With that said I liked the match. Both guys are good at working body parts, while telling a story, mixing in a high spot or some big bumps. In this bout they did just that . Arn just destroys Bobby's knee and Eaton is great at selling Arn's stuff. Just a good meat and potatoes match. I've always liked these type of matches.

This is a great match. I loved the mat game early with the ankle picks and such. The work on the mat was so interesting and engaging. Their were so many momentum shifts in the bout. Now the strikes were just as awesome as the work on the mat. Sano really was incredible in carrying this.

This was a good bout between the 2. The mat brawl is a good description. Fujiwara is a master.

This had that big dream match vibe.Just worked as a total sprint with big moves. It seemed like all 4 guys were going for the big touchdown. That dive by Sting was awesome. Their was some clunky spots, but I thought the announce team covered it well. Not the classic it was made out to be back in 91, but still a good match that was a lot of fun to watch. To think in 96 on the Prime show they ran this match up a lot.

I never understood why they did the breakup. Doom had plenty of gas left in the tank.

Another good bout between the 2. The violence come across here with the stiff strikes, and blood . Though these guys deserved way more time to steal the show. The superplex was anti-climatic as a finish.

This was pretty funny, but not needed on a show with so many matches.

This is a pretty hot finish. The Pistols and Freebirds have had good matches together in 90 and 91.

Hogan has always been a mixed bag between love and hate. I don't particularly care for him here.

In this segment they are reading a brawl for their match at Superbrawl. I suspect we don 't get that . Still this is a nice little piece of business to get people interested in this match .

I loved this match. The mat work was done with some oomph to it. The work on the mat had a real element of I hate you . Even some of the drop kicks had a little extra on them. Even Santo's staple dives came across hate filled. Plus with the mat exchanges some of them were so fast. I loved the finishes of the 1st 2 caida's. The finish of the 3rd caida was tremendous with Casas using horse tackles on Santo's neck to set up a choke was great, but would be his undoing. It lead to his DQ. I thought this was worked spot on as the match before a mask vs. Hair bout. Both guys brought it here to have a MOTYC.

1980s Wrestling Party Podcast #6 aka No Rest for the Wicked

I haven't watched the bash cage with Jimmy Garvin in years. I''ll revisit it soon. Years ago I thought the television was great, but the match itself was one of Flair's worst big matches ever. Let's see if time has lessened that opinion. JVK you are one of the only ones that I can remember pimping it as some classic. -
Not only is it a disputed finish, but it was supposed to be a LLT match. So they decide a do over is in order. This is treating your audience like dummies.

Yea Piper really does carry the Virgil side in this, plus he gives Virgil the rub.
