  1. I also like how they bring Tenay out for the Luchadores and other foreign talent. It helps by making the talent come across more special. I also love Tenay's line about if Misterio wins the Cruiserweight title that the AAA promotion will have 1/2 of the WCW single belts. Dusty and Tony's reaction to the line is great. What a political mess.
  2. Any cool insights into his program with Steamboat?
  3. This wasn't a great moment or anything. I liked Hall here though.
  4. Birthday cakes rule!!
  5. Always fun stuff. Richards was gold in ECW.
  6. This was what it was. Only in ECW.
  7. This was fun, that played to the ECW audience. IE Smarks.
  8. I thought this was just a great sprint. I thought Rey almost killed himself on that Asai Moonsault to the floor. I didn't understand the point of picking up Misterio twice on pinfall attempts. It kinda buried his victory instead of giving him the momentum he deserved and needed to be the ace of the division. Still a fun filled match. Their were a couple miscues. Malenko covered for the 1st one really well. The Asai Moonsault thing I'm not sure who to blame. Malenko looked to be selling and then Misterio did the move while Malenko wasn't 100% ready to catch him. Oh well still a really good match between the 2 who were having the best matches between one another in WCW in 96.
  9. Like Loss said Sting's promo was just tremendous. Like Arn Anderson level good. When Sting told Hogan to stick it I got goosebumps.
  10. Nice little segment that shows how the whole WCW locker room has banded together. Look at the clowns is a funny line.

Well they do have one t.v bout with one another. I assume you are talking about a feud. Which would have been pretty good.
  12. I love this match. it had a real story to it. Malenko destroying Misterio's arm. Misterio making comebacks through his aerial moves. Plus we get to see Misterio sell his ass off. Misterio is one of the all time great babyface sellers in the Steamboat, Morton ilk. Their is nothing better than having a crowd treating a match as filler in the beginning, and then being hooked into it through great work. Which shows you how smart these guys laid out the match. WCW could have done so much more with Misterio. He has a unique way of getting over and WCW dropped the ball with him for the most part. What most people remember of the NWO backstage destruction of WCW was the Misterio lawn dart spot. He for the most part got great reaction coming out for his matches. To get back to the match both men worked hard. Malenko's work on Misterio's arm was just tremendous. Overall, just excellent stuff.
  13. I always dug these segments. They were kinda like a trendy recap of feuds and angles.
  14. This was a cool segment that Lawler just carries. Lawler is just amazing on the mike. It's amazing that he is just as effective today. I don't watch today's product, but will check out some stuff like the Lawler/Miz stuff. Steamer/Jericho from a few years back. My dream booking with Lawler would be him and Miz in a cage. Cole has one of his many famous opponents hiding underneath the ring in a total rip off of the Lawler/Idol and Rich angle. I know it won't happen, but I can wish. Still another fun segment from the USWA. I've always wondered why Lawler never worked in creative in the WWE.
  15. I was thinking I heard or read somewhere that someone got a gold medal in bobsledding. If WCW counted we had Karl Malone.
  16. This was all pretty swank up until the overbooked clusterfuck finish. The bumps they took on that hard ass ring is nuts. Still a great match where both guys look great. Both men are so fast. So of the timing on some of the bumps were so good. For example when Leon Negro sprinted and knocked Misterio away from Halloween on Juvy's Asasi' was spot on. Loved Rey's hurricanranna on Juvy where he bumps onto Halloween was neat. Just some great stuff.
  17. I thought it was kinda funny.
  18. Blink and you'll miss it. Which kinda is the point. I thought the Mongo line afterwards I'm glad you took care of him, and Bischoff doesn't respond was a nice touch.
  19. Thanks I was feeling they were going in that direction.
  20. This was a great studio bout with Lawler just throwing some awesome punches. What is the payoff of Morrell faking the heart attack?
  21. Dundee is so awesome in these type of settings. I thought the Cyberpunk gimmick was bad, but it was different.
  22. The thing I like more about the 80's vs. the 90's is that with the way we are viewing the sets now is it makes us reconsider opinions that we held as more as fact. Take Tiger Mask vs Dynamite as an example. Most people would view this series as being overly pimped after watching it on the NJ set. It allows popular opinions to be looked at under a microscope. It was said countless times how amazing their matches with one another were that people took that opinion as fact. Look at the DVDVR 90's set. SMW is hardly represented on the ballot. I have seen a lot of SMW and their are a lot of great wrestling there. On the 90's ballot you saw a lot of Omega, and stuff like that on the indy section. SMW wasn't exposed as it is now. Most people at the time were looking for the next cool thing to watch. In the 90's I wanted a more highspot promotion. Omega fit the bill, and I bet other voters probaly felt the same way. My tastes have changed in 10 years, so the way the voting is done now is better. Their is no way Steamboat/Flair 94 or Hart/Benoit would be in the top matches in the history of WCW in the 90's if it was set up like the 80's DVDVR sets.
  23. This was a cool segment. I liked how WCW just didn't stay in the back and get punked.
  24. Memphis is so good at making basic stuff awesome.
