  1. The match was really good with Sting's FIP work really good and really made the match. Now the angle is just amazing. It had a "real" feel to it. Woman, Misterio, and Benoit really were the standouts here.
  2. This was solid stuff. Mongo looks clumsy as hell. I thought he was going to hurt Sting. Mongo's 2nd rope shoulder block was pretty great though.
  3. Good stuff. Nash seems so outclassed by Hall and Hogan in the promo department. I thought the beatdown of Sting is a nice piece of business and a pre cursor of what is to come.
  4. Just a good little t.v bout, The build was great though.
  5. The recap here was great. Memphis wrestling is so cool. We just run the gauntlet of Southern wrestling gimmick matches. The interviews were great here as well.
  6. I thought this was a solid match. Flair was good at bumping around for Hogan's stuff. I liked Flair working over Hogan's leg which Hogan did a good job selling. I didn't appreciate all of the Horseman looking like pussys. Still this was fun with good heat.
  7. Arn's interview were so amazing and goosebump inducing leading up to this match.
  8. I liked that too. Hogan came across as borderline insane here or just basking in his power.
  9. I thought the work in the match was good not excellent. Flair, Luger, and Hogan were the standouts. Arn was pretty good, but like Loss said his promos were off the chart leading into this. Hall was decent, threw some good punches. Nash was bad, but he did try to bump a little for the faces. The destruction of Savage was super heated but did drag. I'm still wondering what happened to the faces at the end. Did they get demolished, or did they save Luger and Savage can get what they want. Still the drama was great here. It's a shame they dropped the ball on the Savage match when they worked it comedy style.
  10. I heard you promise a Steamboat show. He's my favorite wrestler of all time, and I can't wait. I'm pretty sure Naylor's 1st exposure to Steamer wasn't a magazine.
  11. I remembered when this 1st aired and I was shocked. I recorded it and must have played it back a billion times looking for clues that this didn't happen. I remember shouting at the T.V NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! not Sting. I was a huge Sting mark and this was devestateng. I knew that voice didn't match but by God it looked so much like Sting. Just a great angle that tugged on my emotions as a fan.
  12. Lord Steven Regal vs. Terry Taylor, WCW Saturday Night 1/1/94 They worked it like a Kevin Von Erich vs. Jimmy Garvin in WCCW. I remember really liking this match.
  13. I thought this was pretty good. The finishing run of false finishes was pretty neat. The angle at the end was good. You so want to cream Baxter.
  14. I thought this was a damn good year for him too. That Vader match was epic. I feel 94 gets slept on for him because he gets fired abruptly. Hogan and friends are all anyone is focusing on. Dustin gets pushed down the cards and becomes a mid carder so I think people don't think fondly of Dustin's 94 work. I mean Duggan, Earthquake, and to a lesser extent HTM are pushed harder. I mean a lot of the guys in 92 that got big pushes were getting their legs cut out from underneath them. Dustin, and Austin are 2 that come to mind. Vader and Flair fall into that category to a lesser extent.Heck they even had Sting doing jobs for Tenta with the notion of replacing him with Renegade as the 3rd face of the company. This was more 95 though. Still they kept Sting off of the 1st few shows Hogan headlined because they didn't want him to get more cheers than Hogan. You knew Hogan was pissed at Steamer/Austin when they stole the show at BATB 94, and was pissed at Dustin for having good matches that got over on his undercard and stole some of the spotlight from Hogan. So the more good matches those guys had and the more they got over the more they were punished in the bookings. Again, this is just how I saw it.
  15. When he 1st started I would classify him as bad. He seemed to work hard and got a lot better to where his matches were fun.
  16. For me I thought Mero was a solid worker. He has had a lot of good matches, but I would put that down more because his opponent was good. His stuff with Regal really entertained me. Though he did have quite a few good matches with different opponents. Some that come to mind are with Pillman,Regal, Guerrero, Owen, Austin, DDP, Bubba Rogers, and plenty of others. I would classify him as underrated.
  17. A couple from SMW that I enjoyed. Bobby Eaton coming out during a RNRoll Express vs.Heavenly Bodies match and doing the Alabama Jam and costing the Rock N Roll the tag belts. Cornette pulling the sheet off the Rock N Roll mystery partner to reveal Arn Anderson. Both of these are from 92.
  18. This was a really good match between the 2. I still prefer their bouts from Mexico though. Misterio busts out quite a few amazing highspots. Psicosis was great at covering for all of Misterio's stuff. At least they dropped the chairs out of their matches. I liked how Psicosis brought structure. I thought his arm work was well done. Overall it had a feel of your turn my turn. Plus it was booked to make Rey the star.
  19. This is a non match where we see the NWO jump Flair in the back. The Giant stalks Liz to the ring where Savage comes to her rescue. This really shows what a threat the NWO are where you see Savage come to Liz's rescue since she was the catalyst that reheated the Flair feud. Hogan ambushes Savage with a chair. The Giant carries Savage to the ring and almost kills him twice by accident. Hogan sprays a chalk outline around Savage and drops the big leg about 8 times on him. Liz did a good job in her role. Hogan talking shit to her was good stuff too. It's amazing how heated an angle they did here, and then they follow up with a bad comedy match at Halloween Havoc.
  20. The Jake Roberts debut was pretty amazing. It was just about as good as of a debut that you can ask for. I've always had a soft spot for Steamboat's return to the NWA in 89. It would have gotten over bigger if it happened in an arena. Steamers return to WCW in 91 was also one that I marked out big for.
  21. This was a solid match. Sting sold a bunch for Regal.Plus Regal had some nice stiff looking offense. Actually I thought he sold too much. Because he sold so much the bout seemed to drag. My favorite match between the 2 was on WCWSN 2/5/94.
  22. Hogan was shit on big time by the fans. You think they might have put his name next to the Giant knowing he was going to get booed so they might trick the fans into thinking that people were booing the Giant.
