This was an excellent match. I've seen a few handhelds between the 2 and they did have good matches with one another. The heat in the final 5 minutes was great. Flair might have lost a step, but he was one of the top 5 workers in the WWF at the time. I see Loss that you enjoyed this match more than you did in the past. That's what's great about wrestling going back and gaining different opinions.

As a kid loved it. Still love it. I'm a huge fan of paying homeage to The Mean Joe Greene/Coke commercial which is the greatest commercial of all time.

I really enjoyed this bout. They worked a fast pace with a great Southern feel. Their is no doubt that Steamboat was probably one of the biggest influences in Austin becoming a great worker. You saw it time and time again with the young guys he worked with. Pillman, Douglas, Luger, HHH had one of his best early bouts with Steamboat. Dustin Rhodes developed into a really good worker after teaming with Steamboat. My Steamboat mark side of me is coming out.

The slipping just kills the bout. I bet Liger was one pissed off man in that locker room.

This was a LOL segment. I wonder how many time Heenan had to that line. It doesn't come across very natural.

Agreed totally. I remember hating the gimmick when I was around 20. Now it looks like a million bucks. Doink is one creepy sadistic looking clown. He totally has the Joker vibe going for him.

I thought this was just an excellent match between 2 pros. I always wished we had a feud between the 2 in 89. It's a shame we don't have more matches between the 2 because from what I have seen they had really good chemistry between each other in the 2 single bouts I have seen between each other and the tags where they have faced each other. Just a good match that told a story and built really well. Ross was good on commentary.

Arn is great at getting things over. He's one hell of a talker. He just has this intensity about him.

I dug these profile pieces that would help get the workers and their current feuds over. Simple yet effective.

A really cool way to lay the groundwork for an elaborate angle that has a lot more twists and turns to come. I have always been a big fan of SMW T.V.

This was a good tag. Wish we would have gotten a longer shine segment on Pillman. The arm work and Pillman's selling was real good. Like Loss said the heels because of how rules were enforced and meant something when they got away with it the heat meant more. When Douglas was thrown over the top rope to the floor the increase in heat was noticeable.The guys didn't get the time that they did at Starcade which hurt the bout a bit, not as much as the shitty booking at the finish. Oh well this was well done.

Just a fun power move match. Reminded me of the Steiner's series with Doom. All the suplexes were off the charts. We got some sick bumps from Scotty. Fun stuff.

Well the bout takes place at the county fair so I think that is pretty much why we had the stip.

The Arn vs. Big Josh is a great one. I remember Meltzer busting on it in the Observer back in 92. He couldn't believe That they would allow those 2 to go 40+. I remember really liking that WCWSN format. For the most part they stuck to good workers who could go. Though their were some doggers thrown in.

Kimala's stuff with Taylor is worth looking at. I remember Phil and I liking their matches together.

Fit Finlay vs. Brad Armstrong (Incomplete) (Bremen Handheld 12/3/95) I remember loving this on Will's Finley comp. Their was no finish, but damn the match rocked. I haven't seen it in a while but it was great.

I remember watching this 1st on Will's Windham comp and loved it. I too would put it above the Scorpio match.

Still waiting for the Steamboat show. Not complaing because the Rude show was cool.

I thought Arn's interviews building up War Games were the best interviews of the year. From August on Hogan was great each and every week. I dug Lawler's stuff. Austin was great in the second half of the year. I feel Hogan takes it home. Flair early in the year was gold, but got campy in the 2nd half.
