I watched the first two matches then split. I have built a perfect beast of distraction out of WWE 2K25. A cacophony of fantasy booking. I’m not sure about Bron as a tag team guy. Just too intense to just be standing on the apron long enough to forget he’s there.

I learned much too late that Abdullah the Butcher’s entrance music is “One of These Days”. You could probably use a lot of classic prog for entrance themes.

It was very easy to dismiss her early on because of youth and inexperience compared to the people she was surrounded with, but she really managed to find a voice of her own that could stand up to some of the names she's worked with. Including her husband. As to anyone else it’s at the point of ridiculousness that Haku is not in.

Funny to think that Roger just took some of the heat off of Becky Lynch for his comments on Ozzy’s death.

He reminds me a bit of Dusty on commentary

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?

Regardless of whatever legal action taken or not it still feels like a turning point, and an uncomfortable one as someone more admittedly a kind of fair-weather fan of the current product. -
When did he start wearing the cross necklace to the ring

I cannot help but wonder if the story out of LA Saturday will have ripple effects between UFC and WWE. I surely hope not but I have about as much faith in Dana White to keep the peace as I have respect, meaning none. -
Cope and Christian’s first match as a team in a decade. Good work against Killswitch and Sabian, some odd spots but not a whole lot of rust between them.

I like the nod to Doctor Who in the logo

I’ve been thinking about personal all-timers, judged from within the span of their careers I watched, and I so value how on top of it he appeared in WCW, right to the end. I think he could have an appreciable effect on the WWF if he’d stayed but unless they put him right on top he wouldn’t have had the quality of talent he was put with for those three years he was with Atlanta. I remember an article in one of the Apter mags he was interviewed for and he was asked if he wished he ever had a heel run and he said it would have been nice once in awhile to tell the fans to shut up. That’s such a human response that it wouldn’t have made me dislike him any less, but he seems to be in that rare company of good guys who are actually good people, if the word of many of the people he worked with counts. Maybe it’s just getting older but I see a lot more value in that, than maybe I did as a young child watching him.

I wish I had saved the post but in my busy scrolling the other day I found something rather obvious but maybe not well-covered at this point. Ghislane Maxwell in the front row at WrestleMania V. -
I can’t recall exactly where because I found it today while scrolling through social media and multitasking but someone put up a clip of WrestleMania 5, and Ghislane Maxwell is seen sitting in the front row. Apparently you can see Epstein too but I’m not going to bother watching it to find out.

As Hulk was both actor and wrestler, another comparison came to mind. Eric Clapton.

Should be noted that David’s own humanitarian streak is impressive of its own, donating the money from the sale of his guitars to worthy environmental causes and the various other charities and causes he’s given his own time money and musical support to, just not as much of the full-throated approach Roger has. On the topic of Gaza and the music industry, I feel like Brian Eno’s eloquence about the issue tops Rog’s passive-aggressive hubris. I find it hard to believe either of them would have any wish for violence against the other. At least in old age, in the 80’s and early 90’s when at least one of them had a cocaine addiction it might have been another story but even then the victory of those big tours David was at the helm of was satisfying enough. I am rather glad now that he called it a day after The Division Bell, great as it is it works best to me now as the ultimate curtain call.

This was a rather interesting read to come across I glanced at his Wikipedia and something stuck out. In talking about his growing up it mentioned an older brother who died from a drug overdose, in 1986.

I see this in two perspectives. People Vince should have kept, against who should have stayed. The first one is probably less arguable, but if there’s anybody who embodies both of these statements it’s Bret Hart. But I’m thinking more along the lines of who should have been kept during the lean years of the early-middle 90’s when it was revolving doors in Stamford in the middle of the heat being brought on by Washington. I personally think that even more than Hogan, they needed Bobby Heenan and Gene Okerlund during that time. Their replacements but one had a clear disconnect to the wrestling business. The exception to this was Jerry Lawler, who was only ever made better by someone firmly in the first camp maybe to this day, Jim Ross.
