  1. Posted mine
  2. The Necro Butcher/Brodie Lee tags in JAPW were really great too, basically like new age Moondogs brawls
  3. I will also watch it and give him a shot at my list
  4. Out of guys not making your ballot, who would have the best 10 match or so greatest hits album, maybe not a guy with a long great career but some huge highs. Couple of guys I was thinking of. Steve Corino A lot of his career he was coasting on shtick, but if you look at his top matches you have some truly awesome stuff. His pair of Homicide matches in ROH (Better friends, stiffer enemies is maybe my favorite ROH match ever), the incredible Hashimoto/Corino/Knight/Steele 4-way, Tajiri ECW match. I just am not sure I can rate a guy with 8 or so classics and so much chaff Mil Muertes After last nights match, we are looking at four Lucha Underground classics and those pair of awesome LA Park brawls, that is a pretty high end. Not really sure what else is out there though.
  5. Isn't that a 2015 match?
  6. Has this match been out there before?
  7. Mine are Jumbo and Toyota Probably am going to rank Jumbo somewhere, because I do like his late 80s stuff a fair amount, he will be way low though as I find his stuff before 88 or so pretty boring
  8. Yeah I don't think I have, or watched it in 1995 when it came out originally, I'll have to look for it.
  9. You should really watch the Regal v. Tommy Dreamer match I reviewed here http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2011/07/why-does-regal-come-here-and-why-does.html
  10. Lots of those guys weren't around together though, Aj Styles was never in the locker room with Mick Foley. I am thinking one day, one look in, who would have the most (It still might be late 90s WCW though)
  11. I was talking to Childs about this before the Drive By-Truckers show last night. What locker room one what date has the most people on your list. 1997 WCW, 1989 Crockett, 2003 ROH? ect.
  12. Have you done a Fujiwara rating yet?
  13. You really should watch the two Lawler v. Dundee LLT matches and the highlights of the UWF v. NJ feud
  14. Am I alone on Cesca here? No respect for the French?
  15. This is my favorite WWF Lawler match Jerry Lawler v. Goldust WWF 5/26/97-EPIC We start with Lawler spitting hot fire in a backstage promo. He calls Goldust a flaming fag, Marlena the biggest Goldigger in GA and says they should have named their daughter Target because everyone in Atlanta took a shot. Goldust jumps him at the bell and they go toe to to at a breakneck pace. The rights and lefts are as good as you would hope a Dustin v. Lawler punch exchange would be. The show was in Evansville IN, so Lawler get a huge crowd reaction even as a heel, including a Lawler chant as he was choking Dustin. Lawler gets bumped to the floor and bitch slapped by Marlena but he steals a quick pin with his feet on the ropes. Post match was great too, with them brawling to the stage and Lawler taking a huge rolling bump all the way down the ramp. Total bell to bell brawl in which every moment was great. Really makes me want to seek out more Goldust matches here, as this was brawling at the level of his best stuff with Buck and Funk. I also really liked his MSG debut against Tito Jerry Lawler v. Tito Santana WWF 3/21/93-GREAT Lawler debuts in MSG and immediately gets the crowd riled up hardcore. He starts shit talking the rotten apple, and offers to let Sanatana out of the match if he kisses his feet. First part of the match has Tito bumping Lawler around, while Jerry cheap shots stalls and talks shit to the crowd. It is really great to see an old pro break out some classic tricks on a new stage and get folks screaming for his scalp like that. The match really kicks into gear when Lawler gets the advantage and hits his beautiful piledriver. He then grabs the house mike and tries to start a "wetback" chant, I am surprised a young Fat Joe didn't jump the rail and stab him in the ribs. He goes to crotch Tito on the ringpost, but Santana pulls his legs back causing Lawler to smash his face into the ringpost as only Jerry can. The have a heated bit of brawling before Santana tries a sunset flip, which Lawler sits down and grab the ropes for the pin. They then keep brawling and end up spilling into the crowd exchanging shots among the fans. The last five minutes of this were off the charts, and if that section was longer I could see rating this Epic. The first was fun mid card MSG, the second part was main event MSC.
  16. I imagine a Championship disc would sell best. Maybe something like the bloody brawls of Houston
  17. For Low-Ki's peak, he was #7 on the DVDVR 500 for 2001, so his peak should at least start then, he was in two of the Segunda Caida top 10 matches of 2015 which suggest his peak should still be going on.

    Bubble Watch

Brody over Yuki Ishikawa, that is criminal
  19. Its interesting. Che probably has almost as many great matches on tape as someone like Wahoo McDaniel, its just that you can be sure Wahoo has a deep well of matches unseen, where I honestly have no idea where Chico Che is, and where he was before his awesome IWRG run.
  20. Everything we have from him is great, but it is such a couple of years in IWRG and then he disappears. If he showed up on BTJr. HH or had a longer IWRG run I could see an argument, but we just don't have the footage. Still at his best Chico Che is one of the greats.
  21. I reviewed Ishikawa v. Freedom Wallace from Santino's fed in December over at SC http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/02/battle-arts-professional-wrestling-pilot.html Holy hell is Ishikawa still fucking great
  22. I might put Monsta over Maff, I liked the Heavy Hitters tag stuff more then Maff's JAPW title reign.
  23. Here is a review of an awesome Fujiwara/Hash v. Sato/Yokoi match which you should track down Yoshiaki Fujiwara/Shinya Hashimoto v. Kohei Sato/Hirotaka Yokoi Zero-One 8/15/04-EPIC Here is the first really spectacular 21st century Fujiwara match I have found. This had the feel of a classic BattlArts match, yuy nothing fancy just all four guys trying to beat the ever living shit out of each other. Fujiwara gets isolated for a part of this match and eats a pretty big beating from the young guys. Yokoi wears MMA gloves and unloads with nasty full strength punches to the face and body. There is this awesome section where he is unloading on Fujiwara and Fujiwara fires back with his jumping shoot headbutt. They also have a great early mat wrestling section, with Fujiwara showing the kind of slick counters that are his forte. Of course Hashimoto is a fucking tank, when he gets tagged in he just murders people, axe like chops to the neck, thudding kicks, big suplexes. There are several points in the match where Sato tries to stand toe to toe with Hashimoto and it is like trying to brawl with late 80s Tyson. I love this kind of gritty violent stuff and this match totally put a smile on my face.
  24. Here is my review of that match from my C+A Fujiwara Yoshiaki Fujiwara/Shinya Hashimoto v. Predator/Tom Howard Zero One 7/30/02-GREAT Man this was a ton of fun, your gaijin team are two guys with some amusing signature spots who work stiff. That is totally enough for legends like Hashimoto and Fujiwara to have a great match with. Hashimoto blisters these two guys, I have to give Predator some credit, he may not be very good, but I bet Brody wouldn't be willing to stand in there and exchange shots with Hashimoto. Howard has a spot where he puts his hands behind his back and dares his opponents to hit him, and Hash and Fujiwara are a pair of guys up for that challenge. Fujiwara wasn't in the match a ton, but he did have a couple of nice exchanges with each opponent. I really liked how he used his speed and guile to maneuver Predator into the armbar, you don't see a lot of Fujiwara working as Rey Jr. v. Undertaker but he is really good at it.
