  1. He is still doing it, 2016 and Fujiwara is still doing his thing. He looks 60 when he was 30, so he is sort of a weirdo wrestling Pharell Williams where you can never really tell his age. With worse video quality this match could have been from the 80s or 90s. This match started out with grappling and that part was truly world class, with Fujiwara still looking like a master, lots of nifty counters and moments of sharp unexpected violence. I especially loved Fujiwara offering a handshake to this young kid which he then turns into a Fujiwara armbar, classic smirking dick Fujiwara. They then go into sort of a time killing section where Fujiwara and Aoki headbutt ringposts, and then back into another cool grappling part with Fujiwara finding a way to get the submission. If we had excised the headbutt section I might have had this as an EPIC which is nuts because Fujiwara is in his MID SIXTIES!! (or maybe he is a vampire who got bit when he was 52 and will be 52 forever)

  4. I reviewed a random 1999 Hector and a local v. Terry Funk and local from an indy somewhere, pretty fun bit of Hector shtick late in his career http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/01/tuesday-night-digging-in-crates-hector.html
  5. You serious think Daffney is one of the 100 hundred greatest wrestlers of all time?
  6. I think it is different if a wrestler has a small number of matches on tape, versus a wrestler with a small number of matches period. I enjoy Vince as a wrestler, but he has 20 or so matches. Volk Han would be another example, can someone really be one of the best 100 wrestlers ever if they wrestled less then 100 times?
  7. FYI Togo has come out of retirement and is running a wrestling school in Vietnam of all places. I reviewed a match where he worked in a three way tag opener in Singapore under a mask http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/01/luckily-dick-togo-had-something-in.html
  8. You have long been afraid of me
  9. AWESOME!!
  10. We have had a bit of drought, lets hope they are cuing up something awesome for tomorrow.
  11. Hey did suck in ROH, but had plenty of fun matches in other feds during that time, so I wouldn't say he was unwatchable for two years, just booked badly in ROH
  12. Why would he end up on your list at all then? I also think he kind of sucks, but he isn't sniffing my list
  13. Anyone have that Larry Z v. Putski Texas Death match? That is weirdly intriguing

    Low Ki

Ki might have been a top 5 guy in 2015, he really only wrestled a handful of times, but they were all great, Ki v. Rey Jr. is my MOTY, loved Ki v. Dickinson, the AAA trios was a blast and Cide/Ki v. Hit Squad was another great performance. I honestly could see myself ranking him above Danielson, although I admit that might be a bit crazy.
  15. When watching for the Memphis sets I remember how bad Hashimoto would kill Chris Frazier, he would work regular against the other jobbers and maul Frazier. Have you seen this match? Maybe my favorite live match ever and a great obscure Hashimoto match
  16. All I want for Christmas is an awesome Jose Lothario match
  17. Links? That sounds awesome
  18. Hadn't see in it years and it was as great as I remembered, loved all of the little things Ian did here driving his knuckles into Hero's ribs, that headbutt to the back of the head, all of the knee work was great too, and I loved the finish. I wish more of this Ian stuff was online, but I am not sure any of his best stuff outside of this is online.
  19. Here is an Meth-lab BattlArts match with Chris Hero which is a great example of what I love about Ian Rotten https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1zpyogaicY
  20. A couple of reasons. I'm still a sucker for a Great Match and Hunter has had quite a few of them. He's not "on" as often as I'd like, but when he's on he's on. Also I haven't watched enough new wrestling (new to me, not recent) to have 100 guys that I've watched enough of and rate to honestly place above him. Same goes for other heavily flawed guys with lots of great matches that in a perfect world I'd be able to eliminate, Edge and Angle being the obvious ones. I am basically excluding Japan so I can't fault you for that. It just means you have something to work towards for the next one. I think there won't be a guy on my 100 that I feel really doesn't belong there, even with my blindspots. We'll see though. As your boss, I am going to make you watch a bunch of Fujiwara
  21. Its really good
  22. Intangibles 10? So she is as great as Ric Flair or Steve Austin or Hulk Hogan or Negro Casas or Jerry Lawler at character work?
  23. Six and half year career has to discount her completely. Someone would have to be the among the top five best in the world without question for three or four of those years for someone with a six and half year career to sniff a list. I can't think of anyone who comes close outside of maybe Volk Han, and I don't think Han is going to make my list. Of course Han is one of the greatest mat wrestlers of all time and basically headlined a promotion with multiple classic matches. Trish was better then Victoria at six minute piss break matches. A half a decade of solid 5 minute matches to kill time while people got beer. somehow making you one of the best 100 wrestlers in history seem totally bonkers to me.
  24. Some one put up Shinya Hashimoto v. Dylan Knight v. Steve Corino v. Gary Steele in an iron man match from Pennsylvania. Probably my favorite live match ever. Master class by Hashimoto, still have the signed bandana I caught
  25. Here is Necro v. Ki from IWA-MS, another awesome non-death match Necro match
