This will sound like trolling or intentional contrarianism, but I honestly can't think of a single thing Flair does better than Buddy. There are areas where I would consider them lateral, but nothing where I think Flair is better at least in the ring

Pacific Northwest advantage So, I'm trying to decide if you meant the advantage of coming from a territory where a ton of super talented guys came from, or the awesome stereotype that since he was from there he'd somehow know how a lumberjack would act. I'm going with a mixture of the two. It makes me happy. The second of the two. Let's be honest, Borne was probably working half trained Lumberjack's every night for the first few years of his career -

And did you watch it? It was ****1/2 for me. Give me a way to watch the whole show for free that isn't dailymotion and I will. On another note they didn't sell out Sumo Hall and actually drew less than Suzuki v. Tanahashi did. I wouldn't imagine it would have been an automatic sellout, but I thought they had a realistic shot at it and I'm pretty surprised the building was only about 70% full. I'm sure the show will do great on iPPV, but it's easy to overstate the "hotness" of NJPW if you aren't careful.

Yep. My current MOTY pretty easily -
I usually hate that super smarky stuff during promos but Cena's "heel turn" joke is one of the funniest things a WWE main eventer has said or done in years.

Clamoring for a triple threat really kills your fundamentalist wrestling fan gimmick

Only chant that didn't get over was for Orton by the plants behind Lawler after the match. And Randy visibly pulling an HBK and selling via pouting was classic

There is zero chance that is true

Update from Dave via a thread at The Board Definitely not a creative issue. Everything they were planning tonight was right from his mouth and laid out by him to creative, not the other way around. He was the one who told Brock the angle and Brock was more than fine with it. Don't know the severity of the injury. Don't want to speculate more until I hear more. Cena thing taken down over a miscommunication on my part, will put it back up. Still happening as best I know.

Did he suffer a throat injury from calling spots He suffered a wellness violation

That letter is the equivalent of Phil Donahue inviting Jared Taylor onto his tv show to discuss race

Also I would note that while I did not like the reversal train at the end of the match at all, I think it's curious that some of the people I've seen offer big time criticisms of Punk v. Taker, absolutely LOVED that Cena v. Punk match from Raw a few weeks back. Now to be fair I think Cena v. Punk was better than Punk v. Taker, but if you want to see your WWE version of video game, spot running, I'd point to that over Punk v. Taker
-
Bingo. Funny thing is I didn't even realize Punk had "hit" the GTS until I watched the match a second time because the angle was so bad. I'm still not entirely sure if he was supposed to hit or if it was supposed to be a Taker counter. I still thought the worst part of the match was Punk being back up for a punch exchange so quick after the tombstone.

Retirement stip didn't add any drama because HHH is a horrid face. I don't think he's any good as a heel either, but there are at least things he can do as a heel that will add to a match. As a face he's complete dogshit

Sloth v. Sloth -
Was in the middle of getting horrible news on phone during Cena v. Rock finish, but I was still semi-paying attention. Felt like really over the top version of WWE Clash of The Titans match and the spot calling was unreal. Literally felt like I saw almost every single spot in the match called. This was not a bad show really, but I can't call it good. I don't leave excited or interested in the WWE product and that's a bad thing. Like WM 27, I feel like the show could have been a lot better if the match order was different.
-
The visible spot calling in both Rock v. Cena matches is Sid WarGames 91 level ridiculous
-
HHH should never be allowed to wrestle again. He's a "legend" so he only really works as a face in the current environment but he is complete dogshit as a face because he has no clue how to work vulnerable at all. The stuff with the kimura is one of the bigger ego stroking things I've ever seen in wrestling.
-
God fuck that match to eternal hell. That was just about everything I feared it would be magnified by a thousand. Just awful.
-
It was absolutely as good as it possibly could have been, with the minor qualifier that I thought Punk was up to early on the tombstone and I thought some of the reversals looked a bit cooperative.
-
Don't want to come across as underselling Punk v. Taker because I basically agree with all the positive comments people have made in this thread. I thought it fucking smoked the last two Taker Mania matches and I may have even liked it better then the second of the Michaels matches.
-
There was no good way to book that match because of the way it was set up. As an isolated/stand alone match I thought it was a very good match of that sort, with some really good spots. I thought Taker and Punk's strikes seemed really on point which added to it. Big Elbow and teased Taker dive were the best spots. I didn't care for Punk being back up so quick after the tombstone he kicked out of, but what are you going to do?
-
God what an utterly bizarre match that was. Another spot in this that looked mildly flubbed but not awful. Swagger was bumping like crazy here I"ll give him that and I loved Dutch in this. Finishing armbar looked great. Very strangely put together in that it was booked as WWE equivalent of a spotfest, then it was like they were trying to tell a bigger story, hinted at going longer and then the end. Odd stuff.
