  1. Stubbs is a great pick. He was on my radar and I would have probably considered him sooner rather than later.
  2. JVK is up next.
  3. Portland selects Ray Stevens.
  4. Goc should be forced to forfeit Saito and pick Bass. Also he took 10 mins to pick. I'm at a restaurant with wifi , that kind of wait time is ridiculous.
  5. Nope. My pick changed based on what Kris ruled.
  6. I am traveling 450 miles as we speak and made the pick while over my data limit. Next time I will not be so kind and you will wait the full 10 hours.
  7. Don Owen selects Pat Paterson.
  8. This situation is kind of a unique one I think. I messaged Kris. If the answer is no it's not a big deal.
  9. I think I can guess what your idea is and it is likely similar to mine but not necessarily exactly the same. All I can say here is that I need an answer to this question ASAP because it WILL determine my next draft pick
  10. Injuries I am fluid on, and I think some sort of random draw every few weeks is a decent enough to address an inevitable issue. Retirement being fixed I kind of hate because retirements in wrestling are NEVER fixed. It's one thing to say you can't draft someone who was retired at the moment of the draft. Quite another to say that you have to stick to someones retirement that they themselves likely didn't stick too.
  11. If I draft a team does it have to be a team that is active as a team at the moment where the timeline is starting? I'm hesitant to say more than that and may end up making a controversial pick that will have to go to a vote, but I want to see what the general ruling on this is.
  12. There is a disturbingly large amount of people on my depth chart still left despite a really long time between picks. I am trying to keep Portland somewhat within the realm of what was actually feasible in 83 in terms of "star" power, plus there is a type of guy who I think is a perfect fit for Portland, the best example of which is probably Embry. If I can get six of the names currently on my depth chart I will be pretty happy.
  13. With one of the most controversial picks of the PWO draft, Don Owen selects Eric Embry.
  14. Probably the single most charismatic in ring performer in the history of wrestling. Even when he was bad you still wanted to watch him, which is pretty amazing. This is cliche but no one in wrestling will ever be like Dusty again. Zero chance. Completely irreplaceable as a talent and behind the scenes contributor.
  15. Not sure if Conrad is on the board but he has done work with people on the board before. I'll leave it at that.
  16. This is a fair point BUT I would note that 92 WCW feels like possibly the easiest fed in modern wrestling history to have good matches in, and Michaels as a Rocker was clearly better than Austin at any point until 96. I will say what hurts Michaels as much as anything to me is that I don't think he was ever a truly great singles worker the way he was a tag worker. He absolutely did have singles matches that I loved, but I think his first stretch as a singles worker is really overrated in many quarters, and I have no use for post-comeback Shawn outside of the 2 or 3 times a year he would turn it on.
  17. After seeing him live this week and binge watching (and realizing he has more than three reviews posted if you count what I C/Ped for Matthews) I am nominating Jimmy Rave who I am starting to think is one of the most underrated wrestlers of the last fifteen years
  18. You should do it Kris. I'm definitely going up, and it looks like there might be some others making the trip.
  19. I took a risk drafting Dundee there. He was not even on my radar as a pick, but when I saw him out there I couldn't pass on him. I think he sort of mastered the art of being a "regional" star and "studio" worker and in it's own way that is what Portland is about. Also his size won't be much of a hindrance in Portland like it would be elsewhere. I actually had someone who really figures into my plans who I passed on to get him. I'm holding out hope that person will be available in 11 picks. It's a risk.
  20. A message from Portland Wrestling's sponsors. Now that that is taken care of, noted anti-Loser Leaves Town Match promoter Don Owen has elected to select noted LLT icon Bill Dundee with his second round draft pick.
  21. To me Barry is basically an upgrade on Hennig who was there at the time, but with a wider range of possibilities because of his size.
  22. Was at work all day and drafted from there. I'm not going to lie, I drafted Windham hoping that Blackwell would fall and I could grab him with my second pick. Already a wrinkle in my plans. From here on out I'm guessing I will have the most absurd draft on paper.
  23. I did this interview with Scott Hensley who is promoting what looks to be an awesome indie tournament in the Chattanooga area in early August. I think a lot of people here would be interested in the shows and I am pretty happy with how the interview turned out. http://www.voicesofwrestling.com/2015/06/10/a-southern-king-of-indies-an-interview-with-scenic-city-invitational-promoter-scott-hensley/
