  1. You don't even know who Janes Storm is so your opinion on that subject has no value to me.
  2. I think the discussion of where I will rate him relative to others is best left in the GWE sub-forum, but I have pretty much the opposite view of Parv. Hansen's stock has been going up with me for the last several years and I already rated him highly. The more I see the better I think he was.
  3. David Von Erich sucks. If I was turning in a ballot now I don't think Storm would make my list, but he'd be above several people on the list above, including Dory. There is a thread where I talk about him in this forum.
  4. I hope Komatsu gets some wins in this tourney and pieces together something of a run. Cavernario v. Owens is one of those "how the fuck is this really happening" matches, that I assume will be a trainwreck, but I want to see it anyhow. Dorada v. KUSHIDA could be great. I'm most excited to see Liger v. Cavernario in the tourney, I hope it makes tape.
  5. Nominating Mitsuhiro Matsunaga
  6. A side point, but should work matter when picking a World champ? If so how much? Was Vince Sr. Wrong to pick Bruno?
  7. Discuss Here.
  8. I agree with Exposer. Watching Mania this year it really jumped out at me at how poor and uninteresting the match with Rollins was when Orton was in a position where the match depended on him. This despite the fact that fundamentally he is good, if not very good. He just does nothing to engage me as a fan, which means that none of his matches - even the good ones - really carry any drama. This also means that the few occasions when his matches do achieve this tend to stand out more (thinking the Foley match here for example), but as a whole it is amazing how "just there" he is for a guy who has been pushed as a commodity for so long.
  9. I'm not sure it was all that effective. It was fine and he was over but it didn't feel the same after the arm injury.
  10. Cena v Zayn was fine given the injury but great? I thought it was the 5th best match on the show.
  11. I agree with almost everything Exposer said.

    Matt Hardy

Okay that is fair enough. I actually think Hardy was among the best in the World in 07 and 08, and was just a tier or so below that last year. I also think his feud was really great, and produced some excellent matches against a guy I don't think highly of at all. I absolutely understand prioritizing so I can't criticize you for that. I might recommend a couple of Hardy matches once I go back and watch some of that 07/08 stuff.
  13. I have a memory of exactly two Piper matches from that period. One was the Hogan match from Starrcade which last time I watched it I thought was shockingly decent. The other was the six-man tag at Slamboree 97 which I loved.
  14. I like Piper a lot. I think like Michael Hayes he's a guy who's rep as being a bad/poor worker is complete bullshit. He had some matches in the 80's v. Valentine, Bruno, Orndorff and Savage that I really loved. My perception of him went up a ton when I was watching random 80's house shows from the WWF and he was consistently one of the most engaging people on those shows. Not sure if he'll make my list or not but I'll seriously consider him. I'd have him above Jericho. Not sure about Hardy.

    Matt Hardy

It sounds like your argument is basically that certain guys are worth your time and those guys seem to be guys who have gotten main event level pushes. I could be misreading you. Hard to tell. If the argument is you don't have time I get that. I probably won't have time for Jack Brisco.
  16. Not as good as Matt Hardy. No consideration.

I can't tell if you are arguing that push is dictating who you watch or if that is just how it comes off on initial reading.
  18. I like Invader 3, but the meat isn't there. I think he's an underachiever really.
  19. I will listen to this later, but I thought Naylor wasn't that much of a Lucha fan?

    Matt Hardy

    Why?
  21. I think Matts point is about the unwillingness/inability of Bryan to adapt to reflect his physical condition. To Matt this indicates a sort of narrowness of a workers range. I don't think it has anything to do with hypotheticals.
  22. I started listening to these today and the two I have listened to have been really good (Drew Delite who owns Empire Wrestling and Bill Behrens show which is an absolutely AWESOME history lesson on Wildside). Fun format on the shows with Wilson cutting promos on shit that annoys him early, and then focused and interesting interviews. He's got shows with guys like AJ Styles, Kyle Matthews, Caprice Coleman and others so I will probably end up wasting WAY too much time listening to these shows over the next couple of months. https://www.youtube.com/user/PoddyHumor
  23. Heyman is probably in the HOF for promoting/booking combo, but I don't see how he's either individually. Closer as a booker, but promoter? That is beyond a stretch. As a manager I don't see it either. Artistically I have loved him at times, but I'm not sure his resume as a manager is better than Sherri Martel and no one is clamoring for her as a manager.

    Terry Funk

Funk in the 90s and 00s is a huge plus for me. I do not see him as a number one contender without it. With it I do.
  25. Sarge, Brunzell, Greg, Doug Somers, Rheingans, Chris Taylor are sole others.
