Didn't see that but sounds perfect.

Thought the trilogy was so great in part because they worked to the format of each match. They put a lot of thought into making this a special thing for those of us who care about this shit. It would have been great to have TV segments building to each chapter, but the psychology of going dog collar worked for me. The Briscoes went 0-2 trying to outwrestle them straight, so they resorted to mayhem, and FTR had too much pride not to go with them. Not so much a blood feud as an expression of each team's character when pushed by worthy rivals. I came out of this thinking all four guys deserve consideration for my GWE list.

Can we have a best of seven between Dax and Danielson instead of the Elite and Death Triangle?

I could see digging that match if you're invested in the Sami/Bloodline story, but as someone who doesn't watch WWE regularly and dipped in for the War Games concept, I had no use for it. No blood, the usual WWE plunder shit, weird babyface advantage booking, no real sense of hatred between the factions. They could have just done a 10-man tag with the same finish.

My thought exactly. Danielson is the No. 1 reason I watch AEW. Have I been frustrated at times with the lack of follow through on his feuds or the losses he's eaten to the likes of Jericho? Sure. But he has still given us a lot of excellent work this year despite losing two months to the concussion. He's almost 25 years into his career and still performing at a level matched by few wrestlers in the world. I just can't muster any outrage over that.

That match died, and Saraya did not look good. No snap to her offense.

They announced it on Wednesday's Dynamite.

Who gives a fuck? I care about my entertainment, not their workplace culture.

Great main event.

Logan Paul is good. No grading on a curve required.

There has never really been a baseball star built like him. Big, lumbering sluggers, sure, but he's fast on top of everything else.

It's also true in almost every industry that there are a few people seen as valuable enough that they're not constrained by the same rules as everyone else. We can debate whether or not Punk deserves that status, but it's one of the realities at play here. His injury is a blessing, frankly, because if TK wants, he can wait 6-9 months and then decide if there's a compromise to be had and money to be made.

Don't agree at all. You're trapping yourself into a bad decision with that mentality. As the boss, you let this situation get out of hand. So work to find an actual solution instead of this either/or bullshit. If you fire Punk, you're still presiding over a trash fire, but you're doing it without someone a lot of fans will continue to want to see. Now, if you try to hit him with a reasonable punishment and he walks, that's a different story. But if I'm TK, I'm not racing toward an apocalyptic confrontation.

I have no thought that this is a work, but they have to do their best to capitalize on it as if it is. Yes, it's messy as hell, but they will have a huge amount of attention on them over the next few weeks, and there is opportunity in that. People in this industry have moved past far worse to make money together. Maybe you don't have faith in these particular parties to pull it off, but that -- not doom and gloom -- should be the mindset.

Even your Darby/Sting match was kind of boring.

That was about as unsatisfying as a Bryan Danielson match can be.

I get the premise of the question, but Okada is only 34; he's not my favorite but we don't have to consign him to the slag heap.

AEW TV - 6/29 and 7/1 - Blood & Innards Is A Better Name
Childs replied to Timbo Slice's topic in AEW
Thought blood and guts was just okay - unnecessarily flabby and it slowed to a crawl once Jericho went to the top, without the requisite drama to justify that pace. The Claudio/Kingston ending was clever enough but not really what I'm looking for as the culmination of a gang fight. The whole thing paled in comparison to the arena brawl. -

This Christian heel run could not be off to a better start.
