Man I remember the rumors about who this would be. Even Lawler mentions Jake the Snake. Vince being it doesn't make sense but this was really good. Probably JR's best non wrestling call ever.

Lawler had a falling out with Randy Hales and left sometime in 99/2000 and took the WWF guys with him. Lawler joined Kick Ass wrestling but then they turned into MCW. MCW was gone by spring 2001 and the guys that were left(Rocker, Kevin Thorn, Spanky, Danielson I think the Littles) invaded PPW for a short time but PPW was done by the time WCW went out of business.

Ah the legendary white Hummer angle. The Hummer runs into the side of the limbo several times and then Nash breaks the angle. Way to kill the angle that you weren't crushed, Nash. Awful segment and Awful nitro.

So was Buff a heel in this or not? This was confusing and leads to the awful Buff/Piper boxing match I think.

This is just so bad. Between Nash's bad puns, Savage's rambling, Bischoff's awful commentary and fake laughing and a main even feud revolving around shit, just awful. While Nash is talking, you can hear over the mic someone chanting Shawn Michaels. Also, Bischoff name drops David Crockett.

Boy is Bischoff coming off desperate here. It's not like in 1996 when WCW was on top and they were just giving out Raw results to be dicks.

Savage is wearing a bright pink Jacket that only the Macho man could wear. What's the deal with Savage and shit? First this feud with Nash then the Rodman feud.

Rare to see a interview without Cole, kevin Kelly or some other interviewer.

The announcer is Kevin Christian, Jerry Lawler's other son. Corey Maclin is in a cage for some reason and gets wheeled out mid match. JR now has two valets with him and Kevin fawns over them. The match doesn't go very long before Mic Tierney and Kris Kannonball(Carl Oullete) run in. Power Pro seems to have hit a funk with no Lawler, Stasiak or Dundee.

The annual apperance by Jimmy Valiant in Memphis. Always trying to kiss the announcer. Too bad Randy Hales did put him and Mae Young together earlier in the year.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Long match but never boring. Misawa taking a Tiger suplex on the concrete is just mental. I liked that Kobashi seems to have a violent streak in him now. -
This felt like two guys who are having a good match on a show no one in managment is watching or cares. Kinda like a match on Main Event these days. Flair proves he could still go if he wanted to and vs a guy that is great.

I watched this match twice. First time I watched it, I couldn't get into it. That happens a lot with these New Japan Jr matches with me. Second time I watched it, I liked it more. I dig Otani's offense like the bootscrapes and just being a dick in general. I wouldn't call it a MOTY but it's really good if you like the style.

The only match I'm not that into is the Taker/Wyatt match. Taker not even showing up hurts it and Wyatt's promos are awful. I think they've done a good job with Sting/HHH and Cena/Rusev. Looking forward to the crowd destroying Reigns and Bryan jobbing again.

We have dueling puppies teases as Debra and a ho both distract Godfather. It's surprising that with the titles, Godfather seems to have less hos with him.

X pac tries to hit the bronco buster but Shane hits him with a chair. This distracts Kane and Acolytes win the tag titles.

Austin's reaction to seeing the higher power was great. Crowd was super hot for the match which is all you can ask for.

So this is the start of the HHH/Mankind feud that lasted up to January. Funny promo from Mankind without being overly crude.

Another awful segment. Eddie Guerrero did it better back in 04 with the Big show. Just goes on too long.

The commentary during this "match" is really tasteless and bordering on offensive. Bischoff keeps calling Nash and Miss Madness transvestites and Savage says he came out of the closet. A contender for worse segment of the year.

Hennig was a good heel to have for this feud. He's a redneck from Minnesota. The racial undercurrent is tough to miss but that was really rampt in the late 90's. Still not as bad as Jamie Dundee/Danny B. Curt calling out Konnan and Rey for wearing Astros jersey's was funny.
