Yeah but you could say it only benefited other companies because Vince didn't know what to do with the talent Regal would find and that won't be an issue anymore. Sure, there's still only going to be so many spots to go around, but I don't think "talented WWE contracted person who was misused gets a chance to show what they can do somewhere else" will be as much of a thing as it used to be.
The Regal situation is weird. Everyone seems to think he's going back to WWE (who obviously wants him back badly) but his deal ending now would have made it a nine month contract which wouldn't make sense when every other AEW contract is at least one year. Not to mention at the time he signed, Regal wouldn't have had any reason to believe he'd be wanted back in WWE any time soon so why would he bother signing with another company if it was only going to be a short term deal.
I suppose Regal is so universally respected maybe TK did him a solid, but why do a favor for your competition?
Everything else aside, it's stupid to book Teddy Hart since there's a high probability he's going to flake out and/or be in jail when it's time for the show.
That MJF segment was starting to drag, but wow what a payoff. I love the foreshadowing with Regal looking sternly when MJF was shitting on Danielson too.
Yeah, but a player of Messi's caliber not *that* far away from his peak is kind of unheard of in MLS. This is like Hogan going to WCW only with more meat on the bone.
Also MLS is kind of coming into its own, even the head of Liga MX was like "yeah they might be better than us now" during all-star week when the leagues play each other.
She seemed to be the reason Holocaust Denier Kendrick was brought in, probably.
Also speaking of Ronda, wtf happened to her? She's finally doing the heel character she should have been all along, but her in-ring has devolved to PC trainee levels.
It's not like people are pulling this out of thin air though, she's been pretty open about not really being in to her current role and that she wanted to go back to the Fiend stuff. It's not the biggest leap to suspect she might have got to the "fuck all this" stage.
Maybe she was just pissed that she nearly got wiped out by the camera cable on her way to the ring.
Dave mentioned in the post show WO radio that WWE is going full-court press to get Regal back, basically saying Hunter's tweet acknowledging him was no accident.
