  1. Sting was the backup plan if Hogan didn't go for it, allegedly they did the "Eric got kidnapped" angle so he could stay backstage and make sure Hulk didn't get cold feet at the last minute. At the time, the message board chatter was that while Hogan was wary about turning heel, he saw the writing on the wall that the Outsiders deal was going to become the hottest angle in the company and he wanted to hitch his wagon.
  2. I'm looking forward to Smackdown to see how this White Rabbit deal pays off*. It's been a long time since that happened with WWE programming.
  3. You might be on to something, it's funny how no one else seems to think they guy who can spend two hours at a post show presser talking about 80s territorial history might have spilled some beans talking to journalists he's clearly comfortable talking to.
  4. If she can't get cleared, she can be a good representative for the women's division kind of like what Mickie James does in Impact. She was a big force behind getting WWE to take women's wrestling seriously and WWE more or less transferred the heat she created to the Charlottes and Sashas of the world because she didn't fit Vince's ideal (also later because she kept getting in trouble).
  5. I'm old enough to remember there being some resentment that Hogan turned because he was latching on to the heat Nash and Hall were getting.
  6. I still think the name is stupid, but I get it. My man's spent his whole life doing the Euro indies, if that's what it took to get his big WWE run then so be it. My only concern was a slimmed down GOONTA wouldn't look as menacing up against the big meaty men in WWE, but as the good bubba said you can't hold back that aura.
  7. I mean I can see the argument of it being a bust in the sense that had he kept his fucking mouth shut maybe be could have had a few more years like this instead of having just one. At least its a hell of a "what if".
  8. Tully Blanchard is one of my all time favorites, and MJF is if 80s pre Horsemen Tully was somehow even more of an asshole, which I didn't even think was possible.
  9. Eric must be so conflicted right now, you know he wants to gloat that he's right and controversy creates cash, but doing so would acknowledge AEW as successful.
  10. It's weird, since he did make a noticeable difference in business but it was at the expense of all the turmoil it caused. Despite the houses he drew I think in the end it was a net negative.
  11. So I guess now we find out of Saraya really is so injured her neck would turn to dust like WWE implied, or if she was just being iced all this time.
  12. Beating up everyone's favorite uncle is the biggest heel move anyone can do in AEW>
  13. once again, I must state I am not TK
  14. Good lord, Keith Lee out here hitting ranas like he's in CMLL.
  15. It must be fun working with Claudio, whatever power spot you come up with he'll make it work.
  16. That kind of makes me think The Acclaimed are winning, tbh.
  17. That, or Swerve tries to cheat and Lee stops him because he's an honorable babyface (or he does cheat and it backfires), letting the Acclaimed win.
  18. FWIW someone on Twitter asked Dave if the AEW locker room was in turmoil and he replied that things have been largely smoothed over and everyone's been pretty happy the last couple weeks. SRS mentioned something about one of his sources using the term "addition by subtraction" without specifying who was meant by this. So it looks like a major source of stress and aggravation was excised from the locker room, so I suppose whoever that could be is an exercise for the reader.
  19. It is indeed two hours for Rampage.
  20. All I'm saying, and I like the Bucks, is that if I saw them coming at me my reaction wouldn't be to be so in fear of my safety I though I needed to star swinging to protect myself. Honestly the only one of the group that could potentially have fighting skills is Kenny because as a Canadian he grew up playing hockey so is probably at least semi decent at throwing hands.
  21. Like he looks like a dude the cops would talk to in a TV show to get info on where their suspect is hiding.
  22. As someone who didn't follow NXT UK very much other than the very beginning, Bate appears to have aged 20+ years since then.
  23. Dana Brooke gonna file a preemptive gimmick infringement on this new girl for doing her no hands cartwheel deal
  24. I still wonder if something happened with Waller. Dude was clearly positioned as a top guy when 2.0 launched, got the main event rub from AJ, and since then he's gone stretches without appearing on the show.
  25. Was this Oro dude in NXT UK?
