  1. oh shit, good bubba got the scoopz!
  2. Put some respect on Fish's name, he's the guy Abraham Lincoln beat for the NWA world title
  3. Funny thing is that, since I was able to finally watch the show, is that it (like most AEW shows) it was pretty solid from top to bottom and that pretty much all got forgotten. The only "negative" was the ladder match turning into Angle Advancement but it was a pretty good angle so that was okay by me. No one should have expected this show to do more buys last year due to what was scheduled for that show and how this one had the main event booked literally days prior.
  4. His gimmick would work better in WWE, plus their style would be easier on his body. He could be great as a player/coach type in NXT too.
  5. Someone mentioned earlier how Punk had a more bulked up looking upper body when he came back, and his injury was confirmed to be a tricep tear (which is one of those "tends to happen when you are on the gas" tears). Not sayin, just sayin.
  6. Absolutely. Someone coming to you for advice should never be seen as something required or mandatory. It should be an honor if someone does, but it's not a failing of that person if they don't.
  7. Part of growing up watching Punk means you know he's kind of an asshole. It was part of his charm (as weird as it sounds). It's not like someone meeting Mr. Rogers and finding out he drops f-bombs. His whole deal was the asshole who didn't give a fuck what the veterans said, he was going to do things his way. Which is what makes what he turned into especially hilarious.
  8. Maybe they aren't seeking out advice but it's not like they have any obligation to do so other than the Olde Timey Rasslin' Code. If people don't want to hear Punk or Regal's advice, they don't have to. It's their loss/gain. The idea that they somehow MUST do this is kind of arrogant.
  9. What's alarming to me is that him filming people was such a known thing that SRS and I believe Bix both reported on hearing about it (but couldn't report on it since no one was willing to go on the record) which means there's probably no way management didn't know or at least hear stories about it.
  10. It was widely expected he was going to win the belt at the PPV before he left, and all the storylines seemed to point in that direction. Not to say he shouldn't have putting his family first, but the timing of it absolutely sucked for him career wise.
  11. His reign was a disappointment because he took paternity leave at the exact time he was at his hottest, and by the time he came back a bunch of hot names were signed and he got lost in the shuffle.
  12. Yeah, that's kind of the point everyone is trying to make. Page's comments that set this whole nonsense in motion weren't even directed at Punk, he basically just said "yeah we got a lot of veterans here, but I'm the type that wants to learn on my own" and Punk created an entire blood feud in his head over it.
  13. From what I gather (and from what Punk has said), he seemed to have an expectation folks would be coming to him for advice/listening to his wisdom and got salty when that didn't happen. Which granted sounds incredibly petty and dumb, but *gestures wildly at AEW*
  14. The whole issue with Punk is reminding me of the famous XKCD comic about free speech:
  15. The more info that drips out, the less it looks like AEW is a den of chaos with everyone at each others throats and more like everyone there got gradually more tired of Punk until it finally boiled over. It probably didn't help that a lot of people there had to put up with older wrestlers telling them to stop doing what would end up making them stars and as such would be not be predispositioned to listen to Punk's (largely unsolicited) gems of advice.
  16. For what it's worth, it has been mentioned that she wasn't happy that Toni basically called BS on her injury in the presser.
  17. I get it's probably not your intent, but this seems like you're saying it's somehow Page's fault that Punk is an asshole? Even if you think Page shouldn't have said what he did, Punk losing his shit over what could be at best be called a cryptic comment that 99% of the people watching didn't get the meaning of seems to be the bigger issue here.
  18. Page's only crime was being a little too vocal he wasn't interested in hearing career advice from a bitter asshole.
  19. The suspensions all seem to be from the fight, which to my knowledge no one is saying Page was part of.
  20. lol did Regal slip in a Jimmy Saville reference there? "I'm an eccentric Englishman, I can get away with it"
  21. I died at the crowd getting BIG MAD at Max Caster getting rap-blocked.
  22. As much as I personally like the Bucks, the more I think I'd kind of welcome an AEW not dominated by people with Endless Opinions On The Bucks.
  23. I would not object to any of this.
  24. Also the report of Jericho being one of the leaders of the AEW team meeting today makes me wonder if he didn't have some kind of (perhaps literal) "come to Jesus" moment with his health scare? He's physically improved greatly and seems to have really leapt into the "veteran leader" role.
  25. I got the impression they are trying to elevate Hobbs and Starks at the same time, which ironically is going to be easier to do now with all the new found open space on Dynamite.
