Never forget that after Ali made an impassioned statement about police reform on Raw Talk, they made him the leader of the cartoonishly evil Antifa group.
-
Fightful reporting WWE is not going to grant Mustafa Ali his release, which is interesting. They clearly see him as a guy who could be a star somewhere else but yet somehow haven't figured out a way to put him on their TV that wasn't so offensive he lost his shit at Vince over it.

The Gunn Club stuff makes sense when you consider the Gunn Boys have a stellar record on paper but it's largely padded by jobber matches on Dark: Elevation.
-
I admit I'm kind of interested to see where they are going by implying Jericho seemingly becoming self aware of how other people see him.
-
Yeah people there said the guy yelled "get that drunk out of the ring" so I don't think TK will mind paying any fines over that one.
-
Cody's promo (and gimmick) makes more sense if you think of it as "what would happen if John Cena lost his shit at the height of the fan backlash".
-
Well historically the beginning of stories aren't as exciting as the middle or the end.
-
Clearly the story here is that Sting gets super powers from wrestling on TV stations Ted Turner once owned.

I feel we do this each cycle. AEW slow builds both because they only have 4 PPVs a year, so the first few weeks of a cycle introduces the new feuds while we all complain the show is "meh". I mean, we're not wrong they kinda are, but it also seems to be the point.
-
I admit I laughed at the finish of Punk/Spears, both because it was so absurdly perfect after all the build and it was like TK gave the book to @KawadaSmile

I'm just surprised that someone who lives in Florida is able to maintain that Sheamus level paleness. You'd get at least a light tan going out to get the mail down there. Also did I miss a shredded Adam Cole phase? His build doesn't look that much different.

I don't even know if you can fairly call that a promo since it was pretty much the verbal equivalent of Mox walking to the ring bare ass naked and not giving a fuck, but that might have been the greatest moment of wrestling TV I have ever seen. Maybe it's just hitting me at the right time after a recent mental health episode, but there was something about hearing a wrestler saying the most honest things ever said was on another level.

I believe the plan is to get them all on deals or at least "we have first dibs" arrangements. This seems to be the next Big Angle the company is centered around so I would expect them to want to make sure they have access to everyone. This reminds me of how a weird position Impact is in right now. If you have a run there and it's good there's just enough people watching where you can kind of build yourself a nice little following that can lead you to a WWE deal like MSK. Yet somehow if you have a run there and it flops people will be like "eh, it was in Impact so it doesn't really count" and everyone just kind of agrees with it.

My favorite was always the "Fuck Sabu" chants after he was double booked and chose the one with the lower possibility of the check bouncing. For a guy who's certainly made his share of bad choices in life, that one wasn't one of them.

Man, you know WWE has fucked up when even Ryan Satin had to backpedal his bootlicking defense of the GUNTHER situation.
-
I would argue Okada jumped business to as much of a peak you could reasonably expect considering their TV situation is less than idea. They were on quite the roll before COVID kneecapped them, and you can't blame that on him either.

I wonder if this will be a WWE style intergender match where it's basically a women's match and a men's match happening at the same time and the two never interact, or AAA style.
-
The Best Friends thing was 100% designed as a spoof/homage to the Okada spot ("look at these lovable goofs doing one of the GOAT's spots!"), but I never got the impression Okada's version was in any way WWE inspired. Not saying that it is or isn't, just that it's not a connection my brain ever made when I saw it.

I love how Trish became the Poochie of WWE women's legends, and any other woman from the past must namedrop her at least once a promo.
-
WWE wouldn't have to give him anything since his actual name is Walter. WWE obviously wanted a name they can copyright and they have a not caring how stupid a name sounds as long as they are the ones making money off it.
-
I get why they didn't, but it would have been cool to have Ivy out there throwing down with the dudes. It's not like it wouldn't look believable.
-
My man GUNTER out here giving Roddy the best match he'll ever be involved in.
-
I'm starting to really dig Baby Uso, even if they are doing the "we'll never mention who his family is, but we'll also keep coyly referring to it" deal with him too.

My lord, Indi in that post match brawl looked like she legit forgot how to fight. Good thing she's really good at getting WWE comedy over since that's the far better skill to have in her position. OK I'll admit it, this Sarray as Anime Hero gimmick could be really funny/good but unfortunately being done by the one goddamn company you can count on to fuck it up.

Watching NXT, and while I really like that they are having some of the non-native English speakers to cut promos in their native languages I can't help that's just repeating the mistakes of Original Flavor NXT since that won't help anyone on the main roster either. Also Kay Lee Ray needs to be on the main roster ASAP. She's too good to be spending her time babysitting here.
