  1. I think it speaks volumes that a lot of the people I saw falling for it were also tagging Cornette all "LOOK YOU WERE RIGHT, JELLY NUTELLA IS QANON!"
  2. No matter your feelings about Kross, it's so typical WWE to take everything away from someone that helped them get over. Word was this was set up so WWE higher ups (I'm guessing Vince, Bruce, and Dunn) could see him in action so of course they make sure he looks as bland as possible.
  3. Janela dressed up as a stereotypical "Florida Man" and trolled the school board meeting Drake Wuertz and pals are always at, and a lot of places reported it as him being actually q-pilled.
  4. Except for the famous "BUT WHO'S SIDE IS HE ON?" from Bobby Heenan when Hogan came out, which was 100% in character for a guy who literally had most of his career based around feuding with Hulk so of course *he* would be the one person to let the paranoia seep through.
  5. Vince loves when people stand up to him and/or tell him to GTFO, but creates a culture in his company where everyone's afraid to do so.
  6. He's like a wrestling version of "you'll never be Denzel, but you could be Denzel's friend". Dude was great as someone's sidekick, on his own not so much.
  7. People cared about John Morrison in Impact, LU, and AAA. If we're talking strictly in WWE maybe, but lets not pretend he wasn't a star in other companies.
  8. Indeed, WWE wants their fans to just shut up and take what they are being fed, while at the same time not having any motivation to improve their product because they are financially set. It really was an amazing display of projection as grumpy Hunter at the press conference was every bit as negative and entitled as the fans they blame for their problems. "Watch it or don't" should be chiseled on his tombstone.
  9. Smackdown has been consistently good most of the year, as has NXT. Not everything has been my cup of tea but overall I find both shows a worthy watch every week. Pointing out Raw has been mostly not good during this same period doesn't make someone a hate watcher, at last I wouldn't think so.
  10. You know a story is fucked up when Vince Russo comes off as the voice of reason. Broken clock being right twice a day and all, but he clearly liked her and it clearly hurt him to see her downfall.
  11. I think the last few years of NXT have kind of killed the "HHH will save wrestling" dynamic. It is interesting how putting someone as dynamic and versatile as Nikki in a one note, potentially career damaging gimmick (even if it was her idea) is bringing out the WWE defenders though. As if when a talent brings an idea to Vince he has no choice but to put it on TV. It's also key to remember that the Hurricane/Mighty Molly gimmicks this is clearly based on were actually "normal person is deluded into thinking they are actually super heroes" like when Hurricane would try to chokeslam someone twice his size. The joke was that they were clearly not who they thought they were, but Shane and Molly were so darn likeable you went along with it anyway. Plus it helped the Rock put the Hurricane over to give him a bit of credibility. Nikki clearly has the goofy charm to make this work, but I doubt WWE is going to make the effort needed to really make it work. If that makes me a "hurr durr Fed Bad" person, then so be it.
  12. I mean, I wasn't trying to take a shot at Randy....he's got a rep of not always giving 100% effort. Being in a wacky tag team with Riddle wasn't something I would have expected him to have his working boots on for. He is, and good for him.
  13. We talk about Tony needing to tell the talent no once in a while, only fair we apply the same standards here. Also I'm not 100% sure I believe it when WWE talent says a bad idea was theirs (I know it's her husband saying it but it still applies) since taking a bullet for the company is a common thread amongst WWE folks.
  14. Xavier Woods going for the Macho Man elbow from like 3/4th of the way across the ring and still overshooting him a little was pretty amazing to see.
  15. A MAGA guy giving life advice to a Saudi on WWE TV is a thing that happened. Weird times, brothers.
  16. I don't know why Randy is choosing this as one of the few times he gives a shit, but it's been great so far.
  17. Also I just now remembered reading that Molly was getting a tryout as an agent and it all makes sense.
  18. It just comes off like WWE saw people's reaction to all the Alexa Bliss stuff as being the dumbest shit ever and had a 'hold my beer" moment.
  19. I love how they're trying to make the gimmick that Doudrop is a stupid name while still doing the WWE thing of saying a name a million times to establish it.
  20. AEW announced the first Rampage show will take place here in Pittsburgh, looks like I'm gonna have to get tickets for that.
  21. This was one of those WWE shows that was good (even really good) in ring, but felt totally devoid of all meaning. These men and women are going out there and working their asses off and this company just fails them at every turn creatively. They are so far disconnected from their fanbase, and as a company they couldn't give any less of a shit because they are financially set for the next several years. They even have their employees like Rob the art guy saying nonsense like "internet fans would be upset if Mick Foley coming in as Mankind and complain they ruined Cactus Jack" as if the issue is that it's those darn internet fans that have spoiled the pot. I was around in those days, and the hardcore fans were in fact very mad that Foley was brought in as Mankind. It was seen as a Red Rooster level career ender and a slap in the face to a hardcore legend. It was the sheet writers and proto-internet hardcore fans that got Foley noticed in the first place. WWE wants to move the goal posts so all their failures can be seen as just the cranky internet fans never being happy rather than the same type of shit fans have been mad at since the beginning of time.
  22. Watching the Chyna doc now, its so heartbreaking how many people knew she was on a bad path but it illustrated how you can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved.
  23. The Rhea/Charlotte match seemed like it was being done at half speed, and it's not the first time I've noticed that in one of her matches.
  24. Because this lame version sure isn't Hell.
