Sure, lets just randomly have a match out of nowhere where Jeff Hardy retires if he loses (not that anyone believes WWE stips) with no build.
-
Also Randy Orton looks like EC3's older brother with that goatee.
-
Starting off with yet another Nikki Cross countout "win" over Charlotte, looks like another week of Raw being the exact same show repeated over and over.
-
Resurrecting this to mention most of the top stars like Andrade and Rush's family is off the show now (they weren't selling tickets so they probably weren't getting the money they promised) and it's doubtful the show will even take place now. So CMLL nuked their partnership with ROH over a show that is probably not going to happen, and if it does, it will go on with none of the people CMLL would have been pissed about.

Well there's Lex Luger finally getting a win for WCW by beating Hogan for the title, only to end up getting Tommy Rich'd and losing it back like a week later. Him putting over Goldberg to prove he could be a good boy and play ball, but on Nitro where everyone could see it rather than on PPV where it could have made the company some money. All the times he would be conspicuously absent from TV on weeks where Nitro was facing stiff competition so that the poor rating couldn't be blamed on him. The best of course would have to be him (allegedly) convincing Nick Patrick not to do a fast count at Starrcade 97 and fuck up a whole year's worth of booking and make the debuting Bret look like a moron for trying to right a wrong that clearly didn't happen.
-
Also I thought more people would mention how Todd Pettingill (who used to get clowned on back in the day) came back after like 25 years or whatever and was better than all current WWE announcers.

The height thing usually isn't a killer unless it's someone specifically pushed to be a giant and gets put in with someone the same size or bigger. Everyone bought Matanza as a monster who ate people's faces off in Lucha Underground and it's not like Jeff Cobb is some 7 foot dude. People pointed out that Mercedes Martinez kinda towered over Mei Ying but then she's a 1000 year old mystic being who yeeted her off the stage with a Tongan Death Grip so in the end it doesn't matter if she's tall or not. It comes off as people buying into the Vince deal where everyone has to be 6'5 and jacked to be considered a wrestler any anyone else is "cosplaying" as some call it.

He reminds me of someone you'd see pop up in the territory days when someone would randomly push some musclehead thinking he could be a big star, but they'd never end up being any good at all.

Imagine how good WWE would be if they put the same effort they use to relive the 90s into literally anything else.

Normally I would agree but "Bayley laughing maniacally" has been like X Pac heat for me. I did laugh at Cesaro kicking Seth's ass out of that stupid suit though.

I remember at the time, someone very much in the target demo of ECW and a fan of it, wondering why is Tommy Dreamer so popular when he would literally get beat and lose all the time. His whole deal was basically being a WWF jobber who got more hope spots. I suppose the Heyman Reality Distortion Field was just that strong at the time.
-
Smackdown puts all the crap in one segment instead of spreading it across the entire show.
-
Hogan burning an actual copy of the Wrestling Observer on national TV has to be the most "gotten to" moment in the history of professional wrestling.
-
When they started talking about how Dynamite would slip drugs in people's drinks, I thought they were going to mention what Diana wrote in her book that Davey Boy/Jim Neidhart/Dynamite would all give their wives roofied OJ to drink and then have anal sex with them while they were passed out.
-
Tommy Dreamer getting huge babyface reactions for not just piledriving valets, but deliberately showing off their underwear while doing it is like watching footage from an alien world these days.
-
Yeah he was doing a deal where he had a mesh covering the eyehole on his mask until it healed. Kind of funny with all the things that get dropped with no explanation, that was one thing they felt needed closure.
-
Dave was asked on WO radio last night if he believed that story and he was like "absolutely, I always wondered why Dynamite never got him back for that, and that story makes perfect sense" basically saying the only thing that could have prevented him from getting his revenge would be a threat to his family. It was also heartbreaking seeing Michelle express frustration on why people only focus on the bad things he did, which as his wife I can understand, but then she talks about him dragging her around the house by her hair and pointing a gun at her face.

I honestly think it's a combination of Heyman running interference to prevent meddling, and perhaps Roman during his COVID hiatus realizing he has pull he really hadn't been using. I could see him saying when they were asking him to come back "ok, but you need to let me do my thing and no more of this forced bullshit".
-
Most of Sr's associates, most notably Lou Albano, would call VKM "Junior" specifically because they knew he hated it which is why no one is allowed to be a Jr. in WWE. to be fair though they did push the "New Generation" and "Attitude" names pretty hard at the time, and they did their best to make "Ruthless Aggression" a thing even if it didn't really stick as much as they obviously hoped it would. Plus the "Golden Age" thing seems like them trying to not have to reference You Know Who since anyone who was even somewhat aware of wrestling during that time would call it the Hulkamania Era.
-
Roman and the Usos are on a whole other level than everyone in WWE it's not even funny. This legit might be the best thing WWE's done in at least 20 years.
-
Yeah this was a much better episode in terms of pacing,
-
VKM has daddy issues. He didn't get to meet Sr. until he was like 13 and it seems like his goal was to erase any traces of what his dad created. I don't think it's a coincidence that the only person who was star when Sr was in charge that ever held in high esteem was Andre and even that was probably because he helped draw the biggest house the WWF ever had until Dallas Mania. Even Pat Patterson's legacy got recast as "Vince's right hand man who was the first IC champ but we'll never talk about anything else he did as a wrestler".
-
I just think it's funny that the entire pre-VKM era of the WWWF gets lumped into one 20 year era.
-
Man, it's almost whiplash inducing to watch Smackdown after Raw. Heyman's super power must be somehow getting Vince to let the talent he's paired with come up with their own shit, because I can't possibly accept that the same writers who come up with all the bullshit on Raw could have a hand in creating the Roman Family Saga we're seeing unfold.
