  1. I guess what I don't understand is that the people who get the most bent out of shape over star ratings are largely two distinct groups: Purists who know what the deal is when it comes to what Dave rates highly and should know better by now, and the people who are largely Corny/Uncle Eric stans who have seemingly shaped their self worth on shitting on Dave.
  2. Looks like he's fallen into the Phantom Zone of Really Talented People WWE Has No Idea What To Do With. At least he can hang out with Andrade while he's there.
  3. True, but since the WWF was pushing closed circuit TV (PPV wasn't really a thing yet) it was competition for all the other shows. So every market would have been their local show trying to run against Wrestlemania.
  4. Interesting to think there was a lot of hand wringing about having too many shows on Mania weekend. when 1986 you had the top four promotions in the US running major shows all within a month of each other.
  5. In Vince's mind he's probably still the guy who couldn't do a southern accent.
  6. It's been pointed out that the Raw archive goes back to 2008, aka the start of the PG Era. Not sure if that means the TV 14 rated stuff is going to get more scrutiny.
  7. Ah I see it now, it was in the post game show with Tony. I took that to be more of a tongue in cheek comment, but he's "on the payroll" and what not.
  8. Unless she deleted it, the only thing it shows she tweeted was "The bad news is... you forgot to kill me. Face of the women’s division. #AEWDynamite"
  9. I could see them doing it, but in WWE canon his highest level was being in a stable and I'd wager Vince would get the wigglies over honoring someone who left to to bigger things in the rival fed. If I were someone with any pull in WWE, I'd recommend giving him the Warrior award since he clearly meant so much to so many in the company.
  10. Yes, WALTER coming back with that "Dad knows the kids were misbehaving while he was gone and he's home to beat their asses" energy is tremendous.
  11. Somewhere Adam Cole was having his own "Renee watches Mox have a hardcore match" moment.
  12. Well that was tremendous.
  13. Britt Baker, Queen of the Deathmatch
  14. MJF would be a guy who would do really well in NXT and become a star there, then get called up and get told to stop doing everything that got him over on the main roster.
  15. I'm always a sucker for the "heels exiting their private plane" gimmick, I'll give them that. Also I like how everyone in this group has Horsemen based roles : Tully is JJ, Wardlow is Sid, MJF is Flair. FTR is Arn/Tully.....and there's Spears over there looking like the kid who walked in and sat down in the wrong classroom on the first day of school.
  16. You know, I think they might have something with Jade if they book her like early Lex Luger. Just have her do basic power moves and flex a lot.
  17. Fenix is the better of the two in ring, but damn does Penta just radiate charisma.
  18. Well there is an issue there stemming from the PPV, and I would expect Mox and Eddie go over unless there's some kind of angle advancement set to take place.
  19. Funny thing is people always want to bash Dave for "breaking his scale" when he didn't invent it, and the first match that was rated above 5 stars was before Dave started using it. A lot of the reasonable criticism that can be levied against the star scale gets diluted when so much of the people mad about it are either just doing it to have a go at Dave or mad because it involved someone they don't like *cough* Kenny *cough*
  20. I would largely agree. I might argue that the vets are doing a little more than just going through the motions, but everyone seems happy to be in a place they can come up with ideas and be creative without having to frame it in a way to please a guy in his mid 70s who things poop jokes are the pinnacle of entertainment.
  21. Seems like the company knows she has better options available and is doing the usual passive aggressive bullshit to make her want to leave. That way they can say they got rid of her for not doing her job rather than having her leave them for a better opportunity.
  22. Yeah I was talking about Wreddit, which is pretty much a worthless shitpile on a good day.
  23. I don't think he would top the list, but Buddy Rose should get a mention for being as smooth as he was and such a good worker for someone who clearly gave zero shits about staying fit.
  24. It seems clearer by the day that Pat Patterson was the only person who was ever able to translate Vince's wants/needs/quirks into a consistently watchable and entertaining product. It really seems like anyone else just managed to get lucky occasionally.
