  1. Yeah, but he also lets a lot of shit heads get time on his podcast too so I'm not gonna buy "I was just working" as an excuse here.
  2. Old out of touch owner holding on to stars of the past past their expiration date? Sounds more like the AWA to me honestly.
  3. This. Folks marrying outside their "people" tend to get shit from all sites over it, but that was the most Stephlike way to do address it.
  4. WWE has banned the buckle bomb, and while I normally think banning moves is unnecessary if everyone is doing it properly, I don't mind it in this case.
  5. It's great seeing all the WWE folks posting their support of people protesting injustice, but I can't imagine the mental gymnastics involved in working for the guy who's BFF is stoking the flames further.
  6. It's okay guys, WWE posted on their website that hospital tests showed Jeff wasn't drunk so that totally makes it okay.
  7. Makes me wonder how much of his dislike of current wrestling/wrestling fans come from them not worshiping at the altar of kayfabe like his generation did. How dare people enjoy the show in a different way than he did.
  8. The ESPN doc on Flair is pretty much the definitive word, anything WWE did would pretty much just be a retread of the same stuff for the most part. A Hogan one actually covering his entire career would be interesting, but it would fly in the face of WWE Canon that Vince created Hulkamania by himself, so I don't know if t would be worth the effort. The Undertaker doc is them catching lightning in a bottle, the one guy who never opened up and publicly breaking character doing so for a full length doc is not something easily reproduced.
  9. Did they ever promise that? I only recall them promising to listen to the fans and be an alternative to people not interested and/or turned off by what WWE was offering.
  10. You know, it occurred to me Brian Cage is the Scott Steiner of this era, extremely muscled dude who does things someone that jacked has no business doing.
  11. One thing about the Don Callis Era of Impact is they definitely seem more self aware of their position on the totem pole. While I'm sure they hope everyone signed stays forever, they seem okay with people just freshening up/stopping by.
  12. This whole thing is basically the company tantrum-ing at the Mania match being shit on.
  13. Deonna Purrazzo just signed, Impact gonna mess around and end up having the best womens' division again before too long.
  14. They did the throw-into-the-stairs spot and apparently Kairi caught the point of the stairs head on and got busted open bad enough they had to stop to clean it up. Now it's certainly possible it was just a freak accident, "shit happens" moment. WWE does that spot so many times it would stand the law of averages would catch up eventually. Of course considering the folks involved, there's no reason to give Nia the benefit of any doubts.
  15. I'm sure people still have to sell Vince on women in the company the same way today. I'd be willing to bet that's why he doesn't see Shayna as a star or why he missed out on Bayley so bad. If Vince doesn't want to fuck you, you can't be a star. The only way women who don't confirm to Vince's ideal can be stars is if they are big monsters.
  16. There is a YouTube video of her doing an interview about being on the show and you can clearly see three large scars across her left wrist. Not going to even try to play hindsight psychologist but it seems clear she had some difficulties and was probably the last person who should have been on a reality TV show, even one seemingly laid back, as at their core they all feed off drama both real and created.
  17. Yeah, it was done with typical WWE weirdness like having them all basically dress the same, but it was much better than the crowdless shows.
  18. Storyline wise it made sense since Nia just laid out Kairi last week, even if it won't be a five star classic.
  19. Love seeing silent NXT psycho Dexter Lumis cheering and clapping in the front row of RAW.
  20. Lana was nearly as dark as MVP in their segment together, clearly their makeup team is not going to be winning any Emmys anytime soon.
  21. Most of them seem to be folks that have probably been tested since they were on NXT TV and/or holed up in Orlando the last few months anyway.
  22. As stated, the Blue Lives Matter thing started as a response to the Black Lives Matter movement that came about as the result of several instances of police shooting black people first and asking questions later and normally facing no repercussions for it. Sporting Blue Lives Matter gear generally gives the impression you're okay with black people being shot by police for little or no reason and/or you are willingly keeping yourself naive about what it means. If you browse the Nine Line site all of Taker's gear comes from, it pretends to just be a good ol' American Pride type company that just wants to honor THA TROOPS. Actually looking at their offerings shows that they're almost entirely all extremely right wing, and a large portion seem to be devoted to pro-police and anti Colin Capernick (all the I STAND FOR THE ANTHEM ones) which leaves an impression anyone wearing said shirts feels a certain way about black folks. I think part of the response from fans is because while it shouldn't be jarring that a 50 something from Texas has such views, seeing Taker go from keeping kayfabe at all costs to basically becoming MAGA The Wrestler was quite the flipped switch.
  23. WWE has benefited from being the only game in town for a generation, so people growing up wanting to be a wrestler only had WWE has a goal since it was all they knew. An underrated aspect of AEW existing is now young talent have a choice between going to WWE and have their best bet be spending their prime earning years in NXT before getting jobbed out on the main roster, or going to another major promotion on national TV that has shown they'll put young folks in key positions if they show they can bring the goods. There's always going to be people who's goal in life is WWE or Bust, but at some point it's going to become clear that a couple years of WWE money might not be worth potentially becoming a star elsewhere and getting bigger money.
  24. If the translation is correct, her and Io saw the tweets and immediately called everyone they knew to get to her ASAP. I can't imagine the feeling your friend is in danger on the other side of the world and there's nothing you can do directly. Also kudos to AEW not only having a graphic, but taking the time on their PPV to say a little something about treating people better on the internet too. Excalibur sounded like he was fighting back the urge to start cussing out the idiots responsible too. I can only hope that this leads to some kind of repercussions for the folks responsible. The main reason people act like assholes online is because 99% there's no risk of any punishment for doing so.
  25. Wrestling needed something fun like that after a really shitty week.
