  1. Jake out here kinda making me want to see a Jake-Arn match in 2020.
  2. Loved Mox saying he wasn't going to chase Brodie around backstage like a GEEK. It's great seeing actual intelligent babyfaces in US pro wrestling.
  3. She mentions WWF told all the newspapers at the time that they paid for Owen's funeral, and she stated they never did. So that's something.
  4. They could do an entire season of Dark Side just on Vince: Ep 1: Killing all the Territories Ep 2: Steroid Trial Ep 3: Dealing with Saudi Arabia Ep 4: XFL (both Versions 1 and 2) Ep 5: The Legal Episode (covering up murders, bribing local officials, sexual harassment cases, independent contractor law) Ep 6: Weird Family Relations (wanting to do incest angles with Steph, booking himself to make out with Trish in front of zombie Linda, driving Shane into becoming a glorified stuntman to get his father's attention, etc) Ep 7: The Rasslin' Promoter who Hates Rasslin (all about Vince's verbal quirks and how he doesn't like being seen as a wrestling promoter) Ep 8: Destroying the Future (his attempts to kill any other promotions/markets with special focus on how NXT UK squashed an up and coming UK scene) Book it, Vice.
  5. He said something along the lines of it was Oje's "birthright" to see Owen inducted in the HOF, which even if there wasn't the whole matter of him being killed by negligence, is a pretty "encased in a bubble made of steel" thing to believe.
  6. That, and a hope that it ends once and for all the weird habit some fans have thinking they have the right to speak on his kids' behalf on what "should" be done to honor his career.
  7. They've burned through so many title runs with her she's a weird Schrodinger's Cat of being both under and over pushed at the same time. They're clearly trying to have her match daddy but at the same time having 75% of her title runs fail in the first defense she's almost like the female version of the one week NWA champion.
  8. Yeah, Rodman was a weird dude to say the least but he was also probably the best rebounder in the history of basketball so MJ was fine with letting dude get as weird as he wanted to as long as he kept grabbing the boards.
  9. Looks like Jerry McDevitt is proactively going around shitting on Martha Hart, saying she didn't really care about finding out what happened when Owen died and just was out to hurt WWE. Which is an interesting tactic to say the least. He at least managed to do the impossible and unite Wrestling Twitter as one to point out how disgusting that is. I have a feeling this episode is going to be especially sad, not just for the death of Owen itself, but how the Hart Family cut all ties with Martha and the kids over her wanting WWF/E held responsible for it. She mentions in a CBS Sports interview that some family members were actively trying to derail her case by sharing defense documents with WWE, and seemingly more upset she was trying to hold the company responsible than Owen dying on their watch.
  10. I'd like to think it was because MJ respected how little fucks Rodman gave, both in general and specifically how he was probably the only guy in the locker room not in awe of playing with him.
  11. The whole build for Edge/Orton just comes off as them being salty their Cinematic Masterpiece at Mania got panned.
  12. MVP giving me Gary Hart vibes as the scummy heel manager type we haven't really seen in WWE for a long time.
  13. Yeah, those skits were something. Not sure what is more irritating at this point, every women's division focusing on Charlotte or Corbin continuing to be wedged into a main event slot no matter how many times that square peg doesn't fit in that particular round hold.
  14. It's amazing how two people who barely speak English like the Kabuki Warriors are the best promos on this show by a fair length.
  15. If even 1% of what Lio says its true, it's so weird and yet so typically pro wrestling that a guy like Mark Henry would end up becoming a company man when they spent like 3/4ths of his career making him do embarrassing shit to make him quit.
  16. Dave mentioned that it seemed to throw off her timing after she had it done, and that caused the usual suspects going off calling him misogynist. Even Peyton herself joined in based on what people were claiming Dave said rather than what he actually said.
  17. Also it really is extra scummy that WWE seems to get away with appearing to pressure women to get cosmetic surgery, if it ends up not ending well the woman gets all the abuse for it and feels the need to accept responsibility for having it done rather than the company who clearly expects women to look a certain way.
  18. I got the feeling they were about to finally give up on her before she got a groundswell of support after her boyfriend died suddenly. They obviously saw it as another "the brands will win with PR" opportunity since she's been in tons of magazines since then giving motivational type interviews. Which...cool. She seems more suited for doing fitness competitions and lifestyle blog type stuff rather than professional wrestling.
  19. Yeah, what bothers me is while it's one thing to respect everyone's choices to do what they want with their bodies it's also clear that WWE pressuring women to get cosmetic work done is the female equivalent to encouraging the men to get on the gas. It causes a situation with cases like Dana and Charlotte where they practically look like different people, but you can't make any mention of it without getting dogpiled from all sides. Then you have cavemen like Corny out there making sure any talk about it at all is more radioactive than Chernobyl and Hiroshima combined.
  20. I noticed that, perhaps out of deference to JR's legend status, often seems hesitant to try to keep JR on point when he strays off the path. I suppose since Tony's got about the same level of experience he has it's ok if he's the one who reigns him in.
  21. Yeah it seems likely Drew was still getting 205 Live money (peanuts), and probably got a song and dance about not being able to give anyone higher money deals in These Uncertain Times and told them to pound sand. I like to think it was maybe some insidious plan by D-Bry to work a program with a guy he knew was going to bounce at the end of his deal to maximize his income wherever he landed, but I don't know if he has that kind of evil streak in him.
  22. I mean, it seems pretty clear Dana's had some work done and you could argue it maybe wasn't the best idea, but Jesus Christ is that the worst possible way to say it.
  23. So it looks like Rachel Ellering got released for having issues with how WWE medical handled her rehab from reconstructive knee surgery. She stated when she brought up her issues, she was given two options that both amounted in her leaving the company, Then COVID happened and she got tossed on the release pile, which is looking more and more like their cover reason for getting rid off all the unhappy folks. At this point it looks like it's a miracle WWE's medical team hasn't killed or permanently disabled anyone with their quackery (other than the Richie Steamboat rumors). CM Punk is an asshole but he keeps getting vindicated when it comes to his opinion of their doctors.
  24. RIP Vanguard 1
  25. Jericho with the Ed Whalen reference, 2020 just gets stranger and stranger.
