  1. MJF having more and more ridiculous injuries to keep him away from wrestling is amazing.
  2. As much as I don't care for the guy, Dolph seems like someone no longer giving any F's (and not in a "Batista on his way out" good way) and a change of scenery might do wonders for him.
  3. Has it come out at all that anyone in WWE has willingly opted to stay home during all this as opposed to those with valid medical issues (Roman, Kyle O'Reilly) or stuck in another country not able to travel? I'm sure it will end up being top names like Orton and no one on the mid or low card, despite WWE's claims otherwise.
  4. So the Dr. D episode is interesting to just see the mindset of the old school rasslin guys both then and now. It's amazing how upset they were at Mr. T (who was one of the biggest stars at the the time) got put in the main event of Wrestlemania I. Like why would any promoter looking to make money pass on that just to make sure someone like Dr. D was on the card?
  5. In kayfabe, being made to look like a sniveling coward babyface did him no favors. In reality, alternating between a corporate bootlicker and a whiny bitch on Twitter turned a lot of people against him for being an unlikable douche and it guess it carried over.
  6. Also a Mexican company making better use of a Mexican star (yes I know Cain is from the US) than WWE is hardly something shocking here. WWE's the same company that signed the original Mistico when he was one of the top draws in the world, and spent the whole time berating him for acting like he was a star.
  7. Raw was actually not to bad, all things considered. Another night of HHH Appreciation was a bit much, but whatever. WWE just can't help but constantly tell their current fans that Things Were Better 20 Years Ago, so what can you do? Ingobernales (spelled it right this week!) were great again this week, I popped for Garza creeping on Charly. Nice to see MVP being put in the manager role he seems to be born to play. Cedric and Ricochet as a tag team not on job duty could be something good. The closing segment was pretty good, despite contract signings being beyond played out in WWE these days. Seth is obviously not stretching his acting chops playing a smarmy douche heel, but Drew being the rare intelligent babyface is always nice to see. Bu...err MURPHY returning to die for Seth's sins was great as well.
  8. So WWE announced they're making a arcade style video game instead of another WWE 2K game. Considering Legends of Wrestlemania was a fun (if largely overlooked) game of the same style, I'm all in for this as long as it's not a complete flaming trash pile like WWE 2K20 game.
  9. There seemed to be a camera cut between the needle being put in the bottle and when it was injected in his arm.
  10. Clearly it's a work, one in bad taste and might blow up in their faces considering who owns ROH, but a work nonetheless.
  11. I've long felt that AEW is an alternate universe JCP/WCW that somehow avoided the whole "get run into the ground by bad management/corporate meddling" thing.
  12. It's something not many of us stopped to think about, what happens to a noted control freak when the world turns upside down and everything is out of his control? At this rate we're probably less than two weeks away from Vince coming out in the middle of someone's promo with no pants on and wearing a beer helmet.
  13. Seriously, what was up with that last segment? It really seemed like Vince got drunk and decided to crash the party at the last minute. Hunter was out there looking like a teenager getting embarrassed by his dad trying to act cool.
  14. I loved the "See, Hunter loses at Mania all the time, he isn't insecure at all" portion of that segment. Also it was like some kind of meta reference to Shawn by having Vince coming out looking like he was in no condition to perform.
  15. Maybe, but Hunter is smart enough to know how to endear himself to the fans he was trying to attract to NXT. Always talking about being a fan of all the type of wrestling Vince dislikes, turning NXT into an indy dream fed with a WWE budget. Always being able to position himself as Uncle Paul who's looking out for all his "kids", that is until it became clear they are just being sent into the main roster meat grinder.
  16. IMO Vince would never put Flair in a WM main event with Hogan in any timeline, guy spent the prior 5 years hammering it to his fanbase that WWF was the only promotion that existed. Putting Flair in a position like that would fly in the face of that, and frankly everything we've ever seen or heard about Vince would dictate he's just that stubborn to never do it just for that reason alone. Look how quickly the nixed plans for them doing a program after like one match in LA, it just seemed like he was itching for any reason he could find to not do it. He wanted Flair because he was the centerpiece of the only company he couldn't just steamroll, and just wanted him as a trophy like he did everyone else's top guys.
  17. Vince clearly hasn't always given Smackdown his 100% attention at times, which even though he makes all the calls at the end of the day, makes it easier to create the narrative that he's responsible for all the bad and Heyman/Hunter/whoever is responsible for all the good.
  18. People "separating the art from the artist" I would think. Plus, wrestling fans are in a somewhat unique position where a lot of people's entire concept of wrestling is due to Vince and his creations. It's not like real sports where if the owner of your favorite team is an asshole, it's something that existed before him and will exist after him.
  19. Yeah at some point (probably when wrestling stopped being territorial) the fan stereotype changed from "poor, uneducated rednecks" to "incel neckbeard who is also probably poor and uneducated". Which IMO was just non fans realizing wrestling was popular in other parts of the country.
  20. Orange Cassidy would be the only exception to my idea of babyfaces selling for jobbers being weird, since it fits his sloth gimmick for him to be in a constant state of selling at all time.
  21. I think what is messing with people is that a jobber getting offense on a heel works better because it plays into wanting to see the heel get their comeuppance, and/or getting more heat for the heel by cheating to win to beat the jobber just to be a dick. A jobber getting anything more than basic offense on a babyface seems weird from a psychological standpoint.
  22. Maybe I'm officially Too Old, I don't get how sending dick pics ever became a thing. No matter if dick is what you're into or not, who wants to see a rando one in your DMs? Like what's the play, do people think "hey once they see this, I'm sure to score a date"?
  23. Wrestling opinions aside, dude also has a history of being unable to control his temper to the point of unprofessionalism, no matter if he's right or not in the reason he got mad. Like he was 100% justified at being pissed at Sinclair, but the way he dealt with it didn't help the situation at all and probably made things worse since I'm sure it made Sinclair less willing to invest in the company if loons like that were around. What ROH needed was a guy who liked wrestling but knew how to handle the suits, and for better or worse someone like Joe Koff was much better in that role.
  24. I would expect when shows start up and companies are in the market to hire people, we'll see an increase in Revival type situations where people will just turn down all the offers WWE gives just so they can GTFO.
  25. I get the impression Rick Martel feels like maybe he said more than he should have in that shoot interview, and doesn't want to draw any more heat his and/or his family's way. I was thinking of how he reminded me of Big Pussy from the Sopranos, big guy who was a family man but at the end of the day he was in the business he was in and there's normally only one exit plan.
