It certainly was WM level match somewhere around 1999-2005 which seems to be the entirety of MBS's wrestling fandom. In 2019? Not so much. I don't think even the most fervent WWE supporter really wants to see those two creak around in a Mania match now. If these shows become the equivalent of the WWE Senior Tour, I'm fine with it. Let MBS book the old timers and keep current Manias to only the standard HHH Epic in terms of that generation.

To be fair.....as fair as one can be when talking about this arrangement at least.... they really toned down the most appalling part of the deal already. The first Saudi show was basically a puff piece saying how wonderful and progressive the Kingdom is now, and basically serving as a big wet kiss to the royal family. MBS blew all that PR himself, and now these are basically paid spot shows for him to play IRL e-fed booker. They don't really matter much in WWE storylines, and it seems like the only hook left is saying it's "as big if not bigger than Wrestlemania" which would be a slap in the face to people who pay to go to Mania if it wasn't such a blatant attempt to give the Saudis some value for all the money they spent.

Let's not pretend the military doesn't have issues with sexual assault amongst its own ranks that tend to get ignored or fall through the cracks, let alone one involving a civilian. Let's just say when two entities known to have issues with assault come together, I tend to believe any stories that come out. Especially the detail that was given in her description. Like someone on the WO board stated, if she made up the assault, she missed her calling as a horror writer because those details were ghastly. I'm generally in the "believe women who say they were assaulted" camp, but WWE trying to conflate her apologizing for getting involved in Kyros's CTE suit by making it seem like she was admitting her assault was made up is the kind of slimy ass bullshit you'd expect them to do to someone they fear had the goods to fuck their day up. It's like, with Kofi there's never really been any time (other than that one years ago that ended with the Orton match) where he was ever given the chance to run with the ball. Dolph was given chance after chance and never really made it, so a jealousy angle really isn't earned.

The story seems to be catching some traction as it made the front page of Reddit (not just a Survivor or wrestling oriented subreddit), but Dave was over on his board trying to rain on any expectations by pointing out that a judge threw out the case already. That seems to willfully ignore the case in question was about concussions and CTE, but then Dave has always had a noted issue with believing women in these matters.

Funny, it just came up as a mailbag question on WO Radio the other night about Ziggler's status. Dave was saying they were trying to make him an agent since they didn't have any plans for him (hence the reason he's been off doing stand up gigs). Guess they came up with something.

I've found out reddit isn't too bad on the sections where actual moderation takes place.

I actually remember there being some discussion about it at the time, but it didn't seem to gain much traction. People were more interested in the story of if she was or wasn't an escort at some point was true. Besides, it would have never gotten much traction since it would go against so many ingrained beliefs. First you have the people who believe WWE can do no wrong, then the people who feel the military can do no wrong, followed by people who believe a woman that would make such a claim is lying/golddigging/slutty/whatever. It was the perfect storm of "people won't want to talk about this".

Tony's a natural heel being square-pegged into not only being a babyface, but the top one of the show and it just doesn't fit. Even being the champ seems wrong since his whole deal leading up to it was being the guy with ridiculous abs and now he wears a belt that covers them.

...or if there becomes a second major national promotion to offer an alternative, so that the indy folks only offer won't be to sit in the McMahon family china closet like the plate set your mom wouldn't ever let anyone use.
