Not sure what the point of breaking off Zoey from Trish only to have her lose on Raw immediately.
-
I've been thinking for a while now that what Tony needs is a bad cop like Johnny Ace or JR was for Vince. Someone to give the bad news/lay down the law so he doesn't end up facing the wrath of the talent directly. Also this whole drama makes me want to know how it went down when the Jags fired Urban Meyer.

That's been a constant with AEW: No matter how lackluster a card looks, or what bullshit is overshadowing them, every one of their shows has been good to great. I don't recall watching a AEW PPV and feeling like I didn't get my money's worth.

Yes, yes he was. He was going on TV and being unprofessional towards his co workers. Regardless of "who started it" Punk kept it going by acting like an aggrieved teenager needing to get the last word. He got into backstage fights and caused booking plans to get upturned due to the fallout of them.
-
Well he was actively fucking with a promotion they enjoy watching, so I understand. Also we all know how calm and level headed wrestling fans can be

Billy is down to do business with anyone if it helps the NWA, but I just don't see those two being able to last more than five minutes together before they try to strangle each other.
-
No, he's worse IMO. From his wikipedia page: In an interview with radio host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in 2016, Corgan voiced discontent with "social justice warriors", comparing them to Maoists, cult members, and the Ku Klux Klan, and calling their actions a threat to freedom of speech.[126] In 2018, he called himself a "free-market libertarian capitalist"

I'm fairly certain Punk and Billy working together would go worse than him working with the Elite. Something tells me the guy who wore a trans rights shirt on TV would have issue with the guy who gets off on his champ being a regular on Fox News.

After Brawl Out, the reaction within WWE was "now they (AEW) know what we had to deal with" which makes it seem very much they don't want to deal with the bullshit that comes with working with Punk.
-
IMO I expect half the reason the Elite have gone relatively unharmed in all this is the fact Punk appears to be physically incapable of not making snarky comments that rev everything up again. His very first promo after Brawl Out he had to drop the line "I'm sorry the only thing softer than you (the people mad at him) are the wrestlers you like". At that point I knew this was just going to blow up again because the man just can't stop himself. That's not to say the Elite are blameless, they obviously could have handled things better, but it's mostly been Punk being the world's most annoying little brother and constantly making comments crafted solely to provoke.

Trish had a massive hematoma egg on her forehead that looked like an alien was going to pop out of it
-
Also everyone in the building thought we were going to see Trish die when she did the spot hanging from the top of the cage. I don't know how it came off on TV but that looked scary as fuck live.

The latest Observer has a story about what happened where they tell three sides: one from Punk's side, one from Perry's, and a third from someone not on ether side. I'm assuming it was probably some rando production person who got caught in the crossfire. The third party's version was Punk went up to Perry to ask if they had a problem and Jack said no. He then mouthed off to Punk and bringing up the "cry me a river" line, and Punk charged at him. Joe then broke up the fight, which was described as "sending monitors flying" since this was happening in Gorilla. Punk was then yelling that "I QUIT" and lunged at Tony. I think this is probably the closest to what really happened. The person relaying the story pretty much said everyone thought Jack shouldn't have poked the bear, but Punk's response was over the top by putting non wrestlers at risk. It also would explain Tony's comments about fearing for his life. Funny you say that, the Observer went on to say it was Joe's idea for their match to go on next instead (the guys in the six man were warming up to go on next) and do their match as scheduled. He wanted Punk to go as far away as possible from the boss he just tried to throttle I guess hoping cooler heads would prevail by the time they got back?

I know this might sound like bullshit to some, but when they were running the hype video before the show, Cena and LA Knight were like 1a and 1b in terms of reaction from the crowd.
-
Those three guys by all accounts don't go around expecting the younger guys to bow at their feet either.
-
Just from what I observed from the crowd outside, goth chicks love them some Dirty Dom
-
In line to enter the building, seeing a lot of LA Knight shirts, YEAH
-
Overdue imo, and I say that as a fan of his who marked out big for his return. Clearly he was not fitting in with the locker room and it's the better move to get rid of one guy rather than pissing off everyone else in the locker room.

NXT's biggest reason to exist is giving reps to the newbies, you're never going to know what you have with them unless you give them a space to figure things out. Now you can make an argument if being on USA every week helps or hurts that, but the idea of NXT is essential to WWE.

Solo getting that main event spot, you love to see it.
-
Just based on gimmick alone, gamer chick Zelina and Satan enthusiast Malachi has to be the weirdest couple in wrestling.
-
Starting Smackdown now, and my kid is going to be so hyped if Cena is at Payback since he's a huge fan.

Also no one is suggesting TK needs to go full dictator on his roster, but for a guy who famously claimed he wouldn't make the same mistakes WCW did it's a bad look when it appears the inmates are running the asylum. It's hilarious that Punk (in his mind it seems) is trying to be the one to establish law and order, but he's an unrepentant asshole and that just makes everything worse.
