Pretty Deadly coming out reminds me that my one co worker who doesn't watch NXT but does watch WWE complained there were too many new people showing up at once, but Pretty Deadly won him over.

It's such a power move that Charlotte has to wear the tallest shoes possible when she already towers over everyone else. Also it kind of sucks how Asuka is being booked like someone keeping the belt warm before either Bianca or Charlotte get it back.

Lookin back, it really is shocking to realize the in-ring was probably the weakest part of Savage's game. That sumbitch could EMOTE.

Hearing his regular non-wrestling voice is weird. Also he should redo that commercial today as LA Knight. So apparently the whole drama about Becky maybe not getting cleared for Raw stemmed from her having a cyst removed on Friday. Bex making the old schoolers proud.

I've been pretty broke in my life, but never have I been "rob a recently deceased body" broke.

The whole Hogan/Savage/Liz yearlong drama was probably WWF/E's best storyline before the Bloodline, and it's even more amazing considering Randy and Hulk were probably two of the most over the top dudes in wrestling history. Macho and Liz reuniting after the Warrior match might be the greatest emotional moment in history just for how it was the perfect ending to their story. It began with Macho bullying her around and ended with Liz coming out of the crowd to save him when he was emotionally devastated after losing his career and getting stomped on by his (female) manager. Also the Cody/Dustin match is right up there too and probably still the best melodrama moment AEW has had in its brief history.

I think Nick Wayne made a perfectly acceptable debut. Kid's 18 years old making his debut on national TV, I don't doubt he probably had Mothra sized butterflies in his stomach out there. He was working with a guy he was familiar with (and a ref too, Aubrey came from the same PNW indy scene) and everyone made sure the kid had the best showing they could. I don't doubt now that the first one is out of the way he'll be better each time we see him here on out.

I suspect Britt is going to cost Ruby the win in the finals anyway, and WIllow's the one on the AEW roster so I don't see much of an issue here tbh,

That tag match is just brilliant, they had the crowd going apeshit without really doing anything.

I lol'd at Darby's "OH SHIT" as Swerve was about to kick his face off

MJF/Cole turning into a Fight Forever plug was cute

I absolutely love Bad News Allen being part of an angle in 2023

Starting off Dynamite now, opening match wasn't that bad IMO. Komander probably needs to spend more time in sleazy Mexican indies though.

They kind of implied that was due to the fight with Dan Spivey, which also was due to his drug use. It was amazing seeing guys who were in 80s WWF being like "wow that's a lot of coke" when the average tour back then was equivalent to the GNP of Columbia.

Watched the Adrian Adonis episode, since I always wondered what happened to him. At the time I saw him at WM3, he disappeared for a while and then he showed up in the AWA even heavier than he was before. I knew he died in an accident but I never knew why he left the WWF right after being in a major match. The episode more or less confirmed he got fired for drug use which made me think "Jesus Christ how much coke do you have to do for 1986 Vince not to want you around ".

That Razor's Edge on the table looked like it sucked for poor Trick Williams

Melo at this point is like in baseball when a team has their top prospect stuck in AAA for...reasons and everyone is like "why the fuck hasn't he been called up yet?"
-
Rhea rocking her normal hairstyle on NXT has me respectfully noticing

Not sure what you do with Ivy Nile at this point, the Creeds were clearly primed for the main roster but she doesn't have much without them. Having the emotionless killing machine suddenly catching feelings seems like an abrupt character shift too.

Bron and Dragonov putting on another banger, Ilja vs Melo is gonna be nuts at the Bash

WWE trying to make "Senor Money in the Bank" happen reeks of Vince

Not sure what the point was for Ciampa to Just For Men his beard if his entrance video is just him with a grey ass beard.
-
True, but dude is a worker the type WWE fans in particular aren't familiar with. The difference between his first run where he was WWE Create-a-Wrestler #70890 and now when he's basically Dusty in a suit is striking.

Its as if someone who spent 40 some years as a jet flyin, limousine ridin, kiss stealin, wheelin' dealin son-of-a-gun resonated with a lot of folks in rap.

Using the tournament as a way to strap the rocket on Ricky wouldn't be the worst idea in the world, but him as a babyface vs Punk (who is still the #1 babyface for a significant portion of the audience) probably isn't going to do him any favors.
