  1. Perhaps, but there's rumors that Vince wants to create an nWo faction to feud with DX.
  2. This is the poster that is popping up for this year's event: This ties in to a story at 1millionpopupswrestling that WWE was planning on having DX last longer than planned due to positive fan reaction and possibly having Hogan lead an nWo faction against them.
  3. WWE could always sign David Flair (he's still on the indies somewhere, right?) and call up Cody Runnels in honor of the 20th anniversary of Dusty's last NWA title win, which was July 26th 1986 by the way.
  4. Wow, I just watched Batista vs Kennedy from the Bash and Big Dave almost killed the guy 3 times in that match. Poor Ken gets busted open hardway twice and then almost gets dropped on his head with the Batista Bomb.
  5. Say what you will about Hogan, he's the greatest when it comes to coked out promos. Warrior wishes he was this good. THANK GOD DONALD TRUMP IS A HULAMANIAC~!
  6. Yeah, cause Vince would never let a female run the comp...oh yeah, that's right.
  7. Those few guys tend to be the top stars in both companies. TNA wants to run houseshows, ROH only runs houseshows. ROH wants the guys who made their name in the biz under them to make ROH shows a priority if they conflict with a TNA date, even if it's a PPV. It seems like in any other business a deal could be reached that would be benefical to both sides in many ways, but again wrestling's way too carny for it to ever work.
  8. I've been thinking, considering TNA and ROH share much of their talent roster, could a combined TNA/ROH pose a stronger challenge as a national #2 promotion? The current setup is backwards by wrestling standards, as the guys who work both promotions get more money for themselves but the individual companies don't benefit. As nice as it is to see the workers make out for once, it seems to make more sense business wise for the offices to work together. The whole bullshit fiesta with Aries and Strong no showing the TNA PPV to work ROH shows illustrates how the current setup isn't in either company's best interest as it lets the workers basically play one off the other. I know that considering the stupidly carny world of wrestling the two companies would probably break off any deal based on a disagreement on the tiniest of details, but it seems a united TNA/ROH would instantly have a houseshow presence that stretches half of the US. That would allow everyone to make more money and maybe even increase the TNA PPV buyrates that have been frozen in place for a while now.
  9. Seeing him with that belt makes me think of him not as World Champ, but as a SIX TIME SIX TIME SIX TIME SIX TIME SIX TIME SIX TIME WCW CHAMPION!!
  10. Vince is no longer contracted as an on air talent, which means he's not required to take part in drug testing. Funny how that works, huh? It's also the biggest testament to WWE's encouragement of roid use when the boss has to frogwalk around because he's so chemically puffed up. Speaking of Vince, anyone else remember when Randy Orton made an appearance on TV while rehabbing his shoulder and Vince made a comment about Randy's obviously smaller off-cycle build?
  11. I'm sure the possible list of causes is a mile long, I'm not going to look at Bobby Lashley and think his enzymes are high because he's a diabetic from eating too many cheesy poofs. They tell new doctors that when you hear hoofbeats, think horses not zebras. Meaning that when someone presents with symptoms that could be caused by several diseases, always assume the most obvious cause first until tests prove otherwise.
  12. Both Bobby Lashley and Great Khali have been pulled from the Great American Bash card due to increased enzymes in the liver. *searches medical books to find what performance enhancer has that for a side effect* *edit* Found it: http://www.medibolics.com/qa2.htm
  13. Hilarious Meltz tidbit about everyone's favorite Wrestling Superstar: Somehow I don't think Virgil attended the same Catholic high school in Pittsburgh that Dan Marino did.
  14. Johnny Ace is trying to get Trish to re-sign with WWE, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was because she mentioned her desire to embark on an acting career. I think Vince would go (more) insane if two women left his employ to become bigger stars. He wants to control the career of anyone who's ever worked for him, so he can take the credit if any of them happen to become a major star. Dancing With The Stars isn't going to make someone an A-List celebrity, but it's a step up on the respect chain than being seen as a bimbo on a fake wrestling show. The people on Dancing probably thought that someone with Stacy's talent and ability was wasting it on rasslin' fans. Of course they're too good to watch wrestling or they'd realize that her dance and cheerleading past had been mentioned several times on WCW and WWE programming.
  15. This might be the best description of ECW I've ever read.
  16. Watching the Brian Pillman RAW, and during the ten bell salute the camera focused on Owen Hart, Rick Rude, and Hawk. Oof. *edit* ....and then Vince mentions in the next segment that they're in the Kemper Arena in Kansas City. Double Oof.
  17. Just watched ECW on Sci-Fi, and I don't get what everyone's bitching about. It seemed like Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling, I don't see what gets everyone so up in arms other than it not living up to the romanticed memories of a group that really wasn't as good as everyone seems to think it was. I loved Heyman giving Dreamer the Kiss of Death, but I'm sure the WWE writing team will end up spinning this into a "Heyman is gay" angle.
  18. I don't think DX is going to last much longer than the summer to be honest. After they evenutally blow off this McMahon nonsense there's literally nothing else for them to do.
  19. So I guess the Highlanders are winning the tag belts then. I'd expect Johnny Jeter, Ken Doane, and Nick Nemeth to stick around and become solid mid card guys if not main eventers at some point. The other two might as well get the resume polished as WWE will be wishing them luck in their endeavors any day now.
  20. If they start portraying them as heels who Cheat To Win despite getting splattered by their opponents, that could get them Honky Tonk Man heat. I'm really digging the Highlanders, so hopefully the feud between them and the Spirit Squad will help elevate both teams.
  21. So, after the ECW match with Big Show, is Ric Flair offically the new Terry Funk now with the "classic wrestler becomes a crazy old man who bleeds a lot?". He's an exploding deathmatch away from stealing Terry's gimmick it seems.
  22. Among others. I believe he came back too soon from one concussion and ended up with another.
  23. His in ring career is all but over due to post concussion syndrome, he still does their Smackdown Your Vote stuff around election time.
  24. I know he trained a lot of people, but was this some sort of deal where his service to the business was rewarded with that run? Cause I have no idea otherwise why they'd not only put Hiro on TV but have him manage the Horsemen. One of the saddest things I've ever experienced in wrestling was realizing that the guy set to debut in the WWF was a complete shell of the guy who up to that point was my favorite wrestler ever. It's easy when you live the gimmick. No one's played the role as well as her because no one's been as skanky as her, unless Courtney Love suddenly decides to change careers I don't think anyone ever will outskank her. Did Eddie piss someone off? Cause it seemed that he fell off the face of the earth (or at least out of WCW) not to long after that. I think that feud's been overshadowed because it was used to turn Teddy Long from a ref to a manager.
