  1. - What is your favorite singles match? That's hard. I've been watching so many different promotions in different eras it's almost unfair to try to pick just one favorite. One that stands out in my mind at the moment is the match between Terry Gordy and I believe Ted DiBiase for the UWF title in a cage. You can feel the HATE just pouring out. - What is your favorite tag team (2 teams of 2) match? RnR vs The Andersons. Ricky Morton at his best, I thought the women in the crowd were going to have heart attacks when the Andersons would beat him down. - What is your favorite multi-person (2 teams of 3 or more on each side) match? Canadian Stampede just might be everything that wrestling should be: off-the-charts heat, just the right amount of Sports Entertainment, and just the right booking to not expose any lesser workers. - What is your favorite type of wrestling? I love the old school 80s stuff. Mid-South, Memphis, JCP. - What is your favorite angle of all time? The nWo arriving in WCW. You had to watch Nitro every week because you never knew what was going to happen next. I miss that when I watch RAW now and can pretty much book the entire show in the first 20 minutes. - Who is a wrestler you found to like because of the internet? Christopher Daniels. I was actually made aware of him when he was doing the Curry Man gimmick and just kept following him. - WCW or WWF 1996-1998? WCW was smoking everyone in this time period. Hogan's heel turn might go down as the last real suprise in wrestling. NO ONE expected that shit, and the feel of being legit shocked at something in wrestling was just awesome. - Do you like Lucha Libre? Why? Yes, because I'm a fan of all wrestling. The non-cheap answer would be to say because it's a different style that I didn't really get to see much growing up other than when Mil Mascaras would stop by in World Class. - If you could book a "Super Show" card with 3 matches with a guarantee to draw a huge crowd and maintain monster heat the whole night, what would it be? Hogan-Andre Von Erichs-Freebirds Rock-Austin
  2. Shane's son, he was born in Feb. 2004.
  3. One big problem is that ever since the Austin program, Vince thinks the answer to everything is more McMahons on TV. If ratings are slipping, you're sure to see the BAH-GAW CHAIRMAN OF TEH BOARD frog walking out to the ring. If they want to tweak the smarks, they bring out Stephie McFreakboobies as well. For something like WWE Homecoming, maximum McMahonage is required so they bring out Robo Mom too. I can't wait till Declan gets old enough (Vince is probably waiting for him to be potty-trained) so he can be plastered all over RAW as well.
  4. Same reason a miner digs through tons of rock to find one gold nugget, I guess. I'm a fan of professional wrestling, and for better or worse, WWE is professional wrestling. If WCW was still around, or if TNA was head to head, I probably wouldn't watch RAW anymore either. BTW, Steph really needs to get her money back from the doctor who did her boob job. She's only a year or so older than me and she already has old lady titties.
  5. If they would have pushed Angle from the start as the serious asskicker they're pushing him as now, he might have been the huge star everyone thought he would be. Instead we got 4 1/2 years of funny, nerdy Angle and for some reason that didn't light the world on fire.
  6. I pretty much started this thread to ask 2 questions: 1. Did Kane hurt himself in that 3 way or was he just trying to cover for the match being such a clusterfuck? 2. Was that segment with Vince WWE's Fingerpoke of Doom segment that we'll be looking back at years from now? I don't think I've seen a more painful to watch segment than that.
  7. Your avatar reminded me... Chris Masters. It's embarrassing to listen to Coach and King get all orgasmic with man love over a guy who seems to only hope to become average at best.
  8. My only comment on the WWF/USA thing: Do Vince's feet ever get sore from being shot so many times?
  9. Nash requesting the hospital not disclose his ailment has me wondering....drug related heart arrhythmia maybe?
  10. I've always maintained Taker was underrated as a worker since he was matched up with some of the most untalented shitpiles in wrestling history during his peak period. Honestly, who's gonna get anything watchable out of Yoko, Giant Gonzales, Mable, and Sid? When he was paired with someone who knew what they were doing, it usually produced matches that were at least watchable if not good.
  11. I really never bought Bill Dundee. I can suspend disbelief with a short guy, but Bill really pushed the limit with me. I just couldn't buy someone who can't get on the scary rides at the amusement park as a top heel or face in a wrestling promotion.
  12. Seriously, a guy who's vocally Straight Edge signs a contract with a company known for its drug and sex scandals. It's like a lame sitcom plot. I'm sure Punk will just laugh and go swim in his pool filled with $20 bills like some sort of hardcore Scrooge McDuck, but he has to know what he's about to run into.
  13. He seems to veer between funny and dickish, and I get a feeling he's going to get a LOT of shit in the WWE locker room for being straight edge. I wonder how he's going to react when he gets released after a year of jobbing because WWE needed to free up money for the next Diva Search.
  14. Meltzer sums up what I was trying to say in the Styles thread really well. to be fair, Ultimate X is supposed to be a spotfest.
  15. Wouldn't it be funny if WWE pulled a WCW and made some sort of sarcastic comment about Rhino putting asses in seats as a champ since he used to work for them?
  16. I can't believe I forgot Greg Gagne. He's one of the biggest embarrassments ever in wrestling.
  17. It also helped that a lot of ECW guys were "normal" looking as opposed to gassed-up WWE giants, so someone like Taz looked bigger because he was buffed out compared to most of the roster. It wasn't until he went to WWE that he looked like an oompa loompa.
  18. Excuse my third straight post, but holy shit: Rhino as NWA champion? I guess Meltz is right in assuming they felt they needed to do a change as a make-good to the fans for not being able to deliver the advertised main event. *edit* Damn you and your fast fingers, goodhelmet.
  19. I'm wondering, instead of cutting time from matches, why didn't they just have the Excecutive Board or whoever decide that since Nash was out, that Raven would get the shot as the former champion. It seems like a waste of time to add another match to decide who gets the shot when it would be crazy to do a title switch and the former champ isn't even booked.
  20. I think getting embarrassed like that would motivate JJ to build his company up to beat WWE.
  21. By the way, I can't help but notice that Meltz has gone this far on the card without saying a match was bad. Even what he says didn't live up to expectations still was good by his standards. When's the last time that happened with a WWE show?
  22. Guess I was right. Damn that Nash, messing up Joe/Liger.
  23. On a semi-related note, when I was looking at the NWA title history at Wrestling-Titles.com I literally laughed out loud the first time I saw a photo of Mike Rapada. I swear that guy bags groceries at the store near my house now.
  24. PG-13. Non believable gimmick, non believable wrestlers, they looked like a couple of kids who's parents let them run the ropes at an indy show after the matches.
  25. That's gotta suck for the guys in the Ultimate X match, you know they probably spent a bunch of time planning it out only to have it get fucked up by something out of their control.
