Tazz stopped wrestling because he fucked his neck up in ECW, and don't think it healed right. He mentioned somewhere that he wanted to wrestle on the ECW PPV but his neck just wouldn't let him. I got a copy of Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80s with the SuperClash match, and you can see Kerry reaching into the sleeve of his robe and immediately getting this "oh shit" look on his face when he realized what he did. Watching the match, it does seem like the finish was rushed as if there was some legit concern about how much Kerry was bleeding since he went zero-to-Crimson-Mask in seconds.

When Rob Conway came out I thought Vince found a way to breed Buff Bagwell with Rick Steiner. I marked for Tatanka, who wouldn't? YI YI YI YI YI!

It'd be hard for me to get into it without thinking at any moment Russo's going to come out with strippers in a mud pit and it was all some shocking swerve to get back at TNA.

Looking at the roster listed on their page, it seems like its all TNA people, which really sets off my spider sense. I mean it's Vince Russo, so excuse me if I think this isn't on the up and up.

Have you seen his post-Great Muta matches? He's done well adapting to his limitations and using a whole different working style.

I don't have a problem with anyone professing their faith, or trying to promote a family entertainment show, but it just strikes me as hollow when most of these guys decided to find Jesus after they made their name and are on the downslope of their careers.

I don't know if I buy Russo's conversion to born-againism yet (he is the King of the Swerve after all), but wrestling and Christianity are two things that you'd think should never ever mix. People don't want to be preached to at a wrestling show, nor do they want wrestling in their church sermon.

Here's something to ponder: If the bulk of Taker's in-prime matches weren't against some of the worst workers in history, could he have been an even bigger star? He has that silent coolness vibe that could have landed him in action movies or even westerns ala early Clint Eastwood. In fact, his Deadman gimmick always reminded me a little of The Man With No Name just in how they go about their business.

I was thinking about the role women play i wrestling, not like in a separate division, but roles they play interacting with the men. WWE seems to only want "divas" now who play the Miss Elizabeth type role, but one of the things that made Elizabeth's character work is that she was the only female manager in the WWF when she debuted. Not every woman in WWE should have to be someone's girlfriend or sex object. Hell, one thing ECW did was book women as something other than that once in a while. One of the most famous bloody brawls was Fonzie vs Beaulah. Most guys know women are the most vicious fighters, so why keep showing them as wilting flowers in wrestling? The only women who are allowed to get phyisical are ones who are mannish like Chyna or Jackie, what if next week on RAW someone makes one dumb joke too many and Maria claws someone's eyes the fuck out? I'm not sayin they should be booked to win matches over men or anything, but have them stand up for themselves once in a while to show they're more than just window dressing.

That was a pretty boneheaded thing for Gibson to do, I'm surprised WWE would rehire him. Don't they have their own doctors either on staff or within arm's reach that can treat these kind of *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* infections? He couldn't have been the first guy to have this happen, considering all the stories of needled asses that float around.

The 88 card always struck me as the end of the Rock N' Wrestling Era, as it was the first time I can remember a palpable sense of people getting tired of Hulkamania. Not to mention most of the 84-87 era stars doing the job as well.

I wouldn't be shocked if it was true, especially since it's about the time HHH is expected back. Jericho has never been quiet about his feelings toward how his WWE career has gone, so perhaps he's hit his breaking point.

I'd like to know about the booking of that match myself. It sure seemed to change once the blood started flowing, not to mention I can't imagine Lawler (who's been in some of wrestling's bloodiest brawls) involved in a match where the finish was blood stoppage. *on edit* To clarify, I'm not saying they changed who was winning or anything, but they seemed to go home earlier than the pace would suggest.

Here's some others: In the Lawler - Von Erich match, Jerry mentions that Kerry kept his blade in the sleeve of his ring robe and sliced his arm. So was Kerry coked up or just a dumbass? He had a pretty established track record for both. When Ax was being phased out of Demolition, it was due to health problems. Considering he still wrestles indies from time to time was Vince just pushing him out the door? Whatever happened to Buddy Roberts from the Freebirds? I know he battled cancer a few years ago but I haven't heard anything for a while.

Lesnar returning to RAW would pretty much seal the fate of Smackdown. I'm sure Vince wants him to make his return on a live show rather than a taped show, but if they don't put SOMEBODY with star power on SD soon they won't be able to get a new contract for it.

Those were on specialty sets (best cage matches and stars of the 80s). I'm talking about the DVDs devoted to one wrestler exclusively.

I haven't watched the Road Warriors DVD yet, but in the promos they always show clips from the "drunk Hawk" angle when they mention Hawk's real problems. Is WWE trying to suggest that angle was a shoot now? Why doesn't Vince realize that calling guys up that everyone says aren't ready is the most counterproductive thing you can do? What do you think the over/under is on Heyman getting himself thrown out of OVW? I can't see him not blowing up the first time a pet project of his gets called up to WWE and ruined. If Brock goes to SD when he signs, you think JBL will stiff him because he's been disrespectful of wrestling? The Boogeyman. Honestly, what the fuck? Will WWE ever include a decent non-WWE match on a DVD of someone who actually had good matches outside of WWE? Outside of the Flair set, I can't recall of any.
