From the Inside Pulse reviewer, who comes off as a dick, but Meltz didn't have a PBP thread up (rant about that following). Sounds like a good show if nothing else for the main event. I wonder though, is there a reason Meltz didn't do a match by match PBP thread? He does them on every WWE show of course, and every MMA show he can find anywhere on Earth, but there's another US based wrestling company on PPV and he ignores it? Whatsupwitdat?

I don't see Ray Gordy ever being able to make it on his own, every second generation wrestler ever had at least their initial push based on their family history. I'm not saying they should make him a Freebird, just say he's going to try to make sure his dad would have been proud of him. Team him up with Hayes as a mouthpiece, but don't call them Freebirds. Let the fans make the connection themselves.

I was reading the results from the latest Deep South Wrestling (WWE's new development fed) show and I see that Ray Gordy is one of the wrestlers on the roster. Ray of course is Terry's son, and since they've been talking to Kevin Von Erich about obtaining World Class footage, and since Michael Hayes still works in the office I wonder if we won't be seeing Ray Gordy being called up to WWE to promote a WWE Freebirds DVD. If Ray has issues cutting a promo (and if he's anything like his dad he probably does), they could have Hayes come down to manage him. Just a theory I've been working on, but I think it could be good if done properly.

Brass Knucks titles were pretty much what's known as hardcore now, only it was hardcore by 70s and 80s standards. Both guys would have taped fists, use chairs, etc. Brass Knucks were the best known foreign object of the times, so they'd name their "hardcore" titles after them.

More JR gems this week, I never get tired of finding these: Ooh, another scathing JR burn to the internet fans. Is he just recycling his Ross Reports from 1999 or what? Says the man working for the company who wants all his wrestlers to cut their hair and work the same boring but safe style. *must not make a joke about the bars in the French Quarter staying open* Why do some announcers wear goofy cowboy hats? This man is beyond parody. Yet last week, JR stated everyone in the buisness knows tag teams don't draw as well as singles. Right, you have to start fucking a McMahon in order to be able to get any time off in the WWE. And finally, my favorite is another question-and-answer: A lot do pursue jobs with WWE TV, but WWE doesn't want people who are fans to work for them. I bet you if that guy who wrote this letter applied to WWE, he'd be considered too markish for them.

I can't imagine they'd sign Gayda and not even talk to Charlie Haas. If signing her is what it takes to sign him, then its worth it right there.

The majority of North American fans haven't seen a well booked women's divison in over 20 years. I'd agree they don't want the same diva crap WWE offers. Women's wrestling, when booked seriously (instead of two poorly trained models having pillow fights), usually gets over with fans.
-
Everyone's assuming that TNA will treat their women like WWE does, just because they're competing against them. This might just be the start of a series of signings to make a real women's division. Like I said before, there are a lot of talented women's wrestlers working for NWA affiliated territories who would jump at the chance if TNA offered a real women's division. What better way to show the world that they're different from WWE than to have actual female wrestlers instead of useless eye candy. I think it could get over if pushed properly, like how the WWF did in 1984.
-
There's a lot of women in other NWA territories TNA could bring in to face Kim. They still have the NWA Women's title floating around somewhere.
-
If this is about my TNA Impact! thread, they offer the shows for free on their website, so there's no copyright violation. If its not about my thread, oops.
-
TNA has also signed Gail Kim.

It was obvious they were pacing themselves for an hour-plus match, but I wouldn't have thought Bret and Shawn needed to work so slow for so long. Maybe HBK was hitting the Jesus Juice before the match.
-
Masters reminds me of Orndorff circa 1994 WCW, when he had that gimmick where he walked around with a mirror and that guy with the silver brillo pad afro wig.
-
What was the editing botch in the HBK DVD? Oh, and the Bret-HBK iron man is still the most boring "great" match ever, no matter how much the smart crowd tries to spin it. The last hot 15 minutes fail to make up for the first 45 minutes of chinlockery.
-
Just because Hurricane's not a hoss doesn't mean it won't knock you loopy if he botches a clothesline. He's still a 200+ pound man hitting someone full force.
-
Liger might be past his prime, but this is still a coup for TNA.
-
Bret doesn't want Montreal to be the sum total of his legacy. I can understand that, but not including it at all is kinda silly. Instead of just dealing with it like grown-ups, now its the elephant in the room no one talks about.
-
I don't know if anyone taped RAW (or if they did, haven't destroyed the tape yet) but on another board I happened across they said it looked like Hurricane might have accidentally knocked Murdoch loopy with a clothesline and that's why the end of their match looked out of sync.

Spike is going to run a repeat airing of TNA on Mondays at midnight, kind of a parting "fuck you" to Vince I guess.
-
I kept hoping Trish's music would hit during the Divas match to spare us the torture, but no luck. I don't know what happened to Cade and Murdoch. Maybe they froze in front of the live TV audience?

Well it seems like the Jesus Push is on for Chris Masters, I don't know if he's going to get over, but it won't be from lack of trying. Two matches in, Ashley's credibility is shot with her Gayda-like performance. Not like Torrie can carry anyone to a watchable match, but Ashley was blowing basic spots to an embarrassing level. Carlito vs Flair? Kinda weird seeing Ric compete for the IC title, even in this stage of his career, but at least Carlito's future over-ness is in good hands.
-
It seems like "trying to be something he's not" is how they're pushing Chavo now, so maybe he was just furthering the angle.

Someone asked him about the future of tag team wrestling in WWE, noting that they've pulled away from tag wrestling lately. JR's response: Tag teams don't get as over as singles? That must come as a surprise to the Rock n' Rolls, the Midnights, Von Erichs, Freebirds, Road Warriors, Fabs, and about a zillion other tag teams that were the top draws of their promotions. I almost agree with him about a lack of quality team until I remember they break up every tag team as soon as they get a small amount of success. The moment a team debuts, they immediately start planning their breakup. They don't even do that well either, since instead of a potentially hot breakup angle the usually just have the draft break teams up and it's never mentioned again. Hell, even when they did have a tag team break out as potential stars (MNM), they ended up jobbing them out to a hastily made novelty act just to pimp DVDs. This also was another knee-slapping moment of hilarity when asked about wrestling in the 90s compared to today: (empahsis mine) Yeah, like Rob Conway: Male Stripper, Eugene, Jillan the Mole Woman, the Boogeyman, Rosey the 400lbs Superhero, Road Warrior Heidenreich, and Simon Dean. Jesus, it's like JR doesn't even try anymore.

I know its somehow possible to download streaming video, that's kinda what I was asking about.

There's currently 3 Impact! shows available for download here, can anyone convert those into the actual shows to download instead of the RealPlayer links?
