  1. Sass's logic is the same used to say Austin wasn't really being crucified, it was a SYMBOL, not a cross, you know. It just happened to look very crosslike and meant to invoke the idea of someone being crucified, but since they never called it a cross that means the people who thought such were just being oversensitive. They plainly meant to invoke images of real people being killed, which I think pushes it above rape. We read taping reports, where how bad something is reported is based on the guy filing the report. I didn't make any posts on it until I saw it for myself. Maybe you finalize your opinons on secondhand info, but I don't.
  2. That's ridiculous. Hassan's whole gimmick is that he's unfairly treated because he's Arab-American and everyone thinks he's a terrorist. HHH fucking a mannequin and Chavo becoming Whitey weren't nearly as offensive as this since they weren't meant to invoke images of real people being killed by terrorists. Like CJ said on AIM last night, I hope no one who's lost family members to terrorism are wrestling fans.
  3. Is it 1986 again and no one told me?
  4. Man, if he does get fired, imagine the shoot interview that'll come from it.
  5. After I had time to think about it, I hope WWE does fire Corny so he can go to a place like ROH or TNA that would not shit on every idea he comes up with or undo all the work he does to get people over.
  6. Melz has a hard-on for "real" fighters, I'd be willing to bet thats why Kurt Angle got in, since he has the "real cred". He's almost as bad as Vince when it comes to wanting to be seen as someone legit rather than a rasslin' guy.
  7. Slapping the guy crossed the line, and I guess considering Corny's past he's probably fucked for sure now, but if thats the case there should be something metered out for the guy laughing too. Hell, if someone did that in WWE, they'd probably be greeted with more than a slap from a hyperactive 50+ year old booker. I'm not saying it's right, but in the Kangaroo Court that wrestling operates in, it's been well established that physical assault is acceptible payment for disrespecting the business.
  8. Wrestlers shouldn't be out there laughing during serious angles either, promoters shouldn't have do worry about guys in a developmental league not taking shit seriously.
  9. Come on, you justified JBL wailing the shit out of Meanie and drawing blood, but Corny slapping someone for potentally fucking up an angle is a fireable offense? The WWE needs more people like Corny, they don't need to be firing people like him over piddly shit.
  10. That's hilarious, and I don't even know why...
  11. If you watch the beheading videos, it's unmistakeable. I guess if you haven't seen them it might just look like another dumb but inoffensive WWE angle like millions before, but the fact that they took the time to re-enact that just sickened me.
  12. It actually was just the usual WWE kind of stupid, there was just something about the masked guys making like the beheading videos just creeped me out like nothing WWE's done before. Plus having the annoucers talk about Davari being a "martyr for the cause" making it clear what they were trying to reference was just way out of bounds for a wrestling angle. People are trying to say it wasn't as offensive as Sgt Slaughter as an Iraqi, but Slaughter wasn't re-enacting Saddam's rape rooms in the middle of the ring.
  13. Earlier in the show, Teddy Long made a match between Taker and Davari, and Hassan assured his manager that he'd "be rewarded". The match itself was a squash, but afterwards Hassan dropped to his knees in a prayer pose outside the ring and 5 guys with camo pants, black shirts, and black ski masks hit the ring from all sides and beat up Taker. One of the masked men choked out Taker with some sort of piano wire until his face was purple and he was doing that eyes-rolling-back thing he does. Hassan then got in the ring and the five masked guys got on their knees in a semi-circle looking very similar to those terrorist beheading videos while Hassan put taker in the Camel Clutch. *THEN* the masked men carried Davari (who was still was out cold selling the Tombstone) above their heads while the annoucers talked about him being a "martyr for the cause" and "getting his reward for his sacrifice" which added a layer of creepiness to it.
  14. To top it off, I made the mistake of reading TSM's thread on it only to see the retards there say "if it wasn't for the attack today, it wouldn't have been a big deal". Right, having guys re-enact beheading videos was only offensive because there happened to be an attack today. Fucking idiots.
  15. So.......who saw it? Personally I think it was one of the most legit offensive things WWE has done. Having masked men obviously supposed to remind people of terrorists simulate a garrotting/beheading on a popular icon is just beyond the fucking pale for me. The fact that there was a terrorist attack the day it aired is just icing on the cake. Seeing five men in masks on their knees the same as in videos where people got their fucking heads sawed off made me seriously not want to watch WWE programming anymore. The fact that no one had the balls to speak up and say maybe terrorists are one line wrestling shouldn't cross is an embarrassment to the business.
  16. Its not even all about wrestling, John Leyfield the person comes across as a douche no matter what. The bullying is just a part of it.
  17. I like JBL's character too, I just think that more often than not he's an unprofessional douche.
  18. Yeah, it's JBL the person who stiffs people for years-old comments and hogties people in the shower. Hell, most people I've seen like JBL's character (admitting his JR Ewing/Ted DiBiase mix is a good heel gimmick).
  19. I don't get it, they signed Big Vito? I can almost understand cutting people to sign Brock, but friggin Big Vito? Does Vince see money in a Mamalukes reunion?
  20. BTW, my logic behind the "WWE helping TNA" theory is that if TNA somehow manages to land a TV deal and gets decent ratings, then WWE can go to USA and say "see, wrestling's popular again" and maybe get a deal that doesn't fuck them up the ass with a spiked dildo. As long as they're the only game in town, WWE is going to have horrible TV deals since they don't have any sort of barganing chip.
  21. Maybe its me, but that's fucking cold. "Hey you're pregnant, that's great. Now get the fuck out." I just hope the last person out the door of Titan Towers remembers to turn the light off.
  22. I remember back when Tom Zenk had his site up, one of the things he said Vince would do is get the boys to make big purchases (he'd even co-sign mortgages for them) so they'd have debt to pay to make them loyal to the company. Something tells me he probably encouraged Brock to buy his plane and his bike knowing he'd come crawling back once he had to make payments on a non-WWE paycheck.
  23. Is it too conspiracy-minded of me to suggest WWE and TNA might have some under the table deal like they had with ECW? I mean, TNA is having troubles and all of a sudden WWE cuts a bunch of guys who could help a struggling wrestling company help land a TV deal.
  24. To quote Warren G, "I looked at the brotha, said "damn, what's next?" Are they going to have enough guys to fill two shows when this is done? Also, how hilarious is it that almost everyone from the BLOCKBUSTER POST-DRAFT TRADE~! is either cut or next on the chopping block.
