  1. I was loving the Eddie/Rey feud, but getting kids involved made my Wrestlecrap sense tingle. That's a line wrestling companies shouldn't cross, getting young kids involved in angles. Especially the way the WWE works, it just paints them in a corner. Either it's going to be something horribly offensive that a kid shouldn't be involved with, or it'll end up having a lame cop-out payoff when WWE gets afraid of bad publicity for getting children involved in storylines. The moment they aired that footage on SD! of Eddie in the playground, I channeled the spirit of Han Solo and had a bad feeling about this.
  2. Some of these arguments against HHH are ridiculous. People are acting like he's to blame for business going down and not the fact WCW went out of business and wrestling lost half its audience. This whole "HHH had one good year" is silly too, he's become more selective in his performances to be sure but he can still put on a **** match when he wants to. I'll grant he came back too soon from the quad tear and it took a while for him to regain his form, but he's had some excellent performances since then.
  3. I guess they're finally realizing Grenier is dead weight.
  4. It's becoming kind of sad to watch them try to dress up the fact that their core business, American TV ratings and PPV buys, are getting smaller and smaller.
  5. I think the 'Birds should get in based on their work in Texas alone. The heat for the feud with the Von Erichs was nuclear. I have that DVD Kevin put out, and most of the matches are against the Freebirds. Michael Hayes gets "I'm going to kill you" heat just standing in the ring.
  6. I wouldn't object to HHH being in a HOF. For better or worse, he has been a main event player for several years and he's had several top level matches (admittedly when he feels like it).
  7. It's still a travesty the Rock n' Rolls aren't in, considering they re-defined tag team wrestling and pretty much set the standard for babyface heat.
  8. I'd have a hard time not voting for any of the non-performer's list. Every one left an indelible mark on the business.
  9. Here's one: Fact or Fiction... HTQ is dead.
  10. I think it was funny when he was put in the ring with another guy who liked to get rough (Ken Shamrock) he was caught on camera asking him to ease up.
  11. I don't know, a lot of the stories that paint him to be a douchebag bully seem to be quoted from people who were there. I mean, he likes to get rough with people in the ring but Paul Orndorff and Harley Race (who had to be in his 60s then) both seemed to have no problem handling him outside the ring.
  12. Was it ever proven if this was a legit screwjob? I always heard Bob didn't want to job so they did had his manager throw in the towel in a sort of proto-Montreal.
  13. I think that if WWE ever allows Christian to get a win over anyone remotely close to the uppper card, he could be a major star.
  14. I was checking out his official page, and while it appears to be maintained by someone other than Vader himself, I was suprised at how it was laid out. The stories of backstage fights, in ring shoots, bragging about his arrests, and his list of people he injured in the ring really makes him sound like a asshole bully douchebag who doesn't understand the point of a worked match is to *not* hurt people. I used to think he was cool, but he really comes off like a dick.
  15. I think it was an inside joke, or maybe even a rib on Pat to have the phantom tourney take place in Rio since it's known for its flamboyant (not necessarily gay) parades. I don't think Pat ever hid who he was, and we all know what most of the business (especially the McMahons) think of homosexuals.
  16. Backlund/Patterson.
  17. This is the match with the famed Dusty Finish that killed off Chicago for NWA/WCW isn't it?
  18. The match of his on the steel cage DVD is awesome, in no small part due to Bob actually showing emotion. Pissed off Bob rules, which is why his crazy old man gimmick was so awesome.
  19. No doubt Backlund is probably one of the finest technical wrestlers I've seen, but he's so terribly whitebread it makes watching him a chore.
  20. I'm amazed the (W)WWF was able to draw what it did in the 70s since Bruno and Bob Backlund were probably the two most boring workers ever and between them they held the belt for most of the decade. I know Bruno had a big Italian following, but most of his matches are brutal to watch even by the standards of the decade.
  21. Dark Journey.
  22. That's Verne for ya, what do you expect from the guy who didn't think Hogan was champ material in 1983.
  23. From Melz:
  24. At first I thought it was Melina, and that they already decided to break up MNM.
  25. ok, I didn't know the SD spoilers were out already, guess you can render my above post null and void.
