Jesus Christ, no way on God's green is that opener 4-star. Maybe 2. MAYBE. Super spotty. Super sloppy. Full of a ton of bullshit stalling, contrived spots, people standing around waiting for the next person to get their shit in, all the "comedy" shit with the suck it chants & crotch-chops & shit. That match was horrible. Pretty much everything that I hate about professional wrestling was on display in that match. Everyone needs to watch the last three matches on this card though. Awesome, super fun stuff.
-
Agreed. Although admittedly, I am tired of the Tanahashi/Okada feud, the matches are always good, so it's hard to hate on it.

I certainly think that it made the fight not as big of a deal as it could have been, although it certainly still made ridiculous bank. I don't know what the biggest possible match WWE could make nowadays is but I know it doesn't involve The Undertaker. The biggest possible match for The Undertaker, at this point, might be John Cena, but like Will said, I just don't think it matters. Brock Vs. Daniel Bryan Brock Vs. Roman II Roman Vs. John Cena I think those are the top three matches WWE could realistically do that I would be interested in & I doubt WWE would ever consider Bryan Vs. Brock.

Finn Bàlor could work on the main roster, I think. Out of The Demon gimmick, he should be a cocky, brash babyface that dresses in suits & backs up his mouth with results in the ring. The Demon should only be used when his back is against the wall & he needs something to "even the odds" so to speak. WWE should really play it up like it's damn near two different people too. Like The Demon persona should do different things, have a different finish, be more reckless & breakneck & hard to topple. Sami Zayn is a good worker but I feel like that's all he is. That might be enough. If Daniel Bryan comes back though, what does Zayn bring to the table that's any different or better? Not that I would be against having more good workers on the main roster but I can't foresee a WWE main event picture that's chalk full of guys like Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan & Finn Bàlor, although that would give us some pretty good matches. I don't know, I have a tough time picture WWE of the future being ROH of the past, but I guess it's possible. We've had main events of C.M. Punk Vs. Daniel Bryan before. Bayley I just feel bad for. I don't think she's going to work on the main roster. It's not her fault, Becky & Sasha aren't really working on the main roster either... and they're all tremendously talented. When I heard Bayley say on Breaking Ground that one day she is going to main event Wrestlemania, I just felt bad. That's never going to happen. I think Samoa Joe would work on the main roster more than most of them, honestly. He's a decent promo & he can get over by just being a Samoan ass-kicker that chokes people out. He needs new gear badly though.

You gotta give the crowd a reason to care about a match before giving them the match. This is a match on Raw in 2015 we're talking about right? Yes. It's a problem with the entire show & has been for a long time. They also chanted "this is boring" during yet another 6-man match on RAW. When the show starts & you don't already know what to expect on the show, that's a problem. This last RAW, in example, told us that next week we're getting Roman Vs. Sheamus with Vince at the ref. People know what the main event is before they turn the show on. That's the first time we've had that in quite some time. The format really hinders the show and is part of the reason why everything is so boring. You turn it on, get a 20-minute promo telling you what the main event is and everything in between is just filler. Why are the fans going to care about that? It's not just about the women. I really like Sasha & Becky but WWE isn't exactly putting them in a situation to have success. If the match was a lot better maybe they could have gotten the crowd more involved but before the bell even rang, a lot of them seemingly tuned out. Hell, I'd argue half the PPVs in the calendar year don't even matter. WWE used to feel like you couldn't miss a show. That anything could happen. That if you missed a week you would be out of the loop & struggle to catch back up, or might miss some great moment. Now you can miss three months, read a paragraph about what happened & not feel like you missed anything.
-
This is WAY overthinking it. The crowd chanted "this is boring" because it was fucking boring. The match was too long, was sloppy & didn't really mean anything. The crowd is not invested in those character. You gotta give the crowd a reason to care about a match before giving them the match.

Thanks for the heads-up. I could have sworn they were all nominated already as I only wrote down names that had been nominated from the Index thread. Or so I thought. Must have been an oversight somewhere on my end. I know I've talked about them already though, and the Jacques thread is there.

Looking over my obvious work-in-progress list, I'm not sure if a single name in my Top 30 will I be the high vote on. Some of the names on the bottom half of my list though, maybe? It depends on how people rate those people or if they include them at all. Potential high votes: • The Big Bossman • Jacques Rougeau (I imagine he won't make most lists) • One Man Gang • Scott Norton • Yokozuna • Haku/Meng

So, is John Cena going to win the Royal Rumble & challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Title as the main event at Wrestlemania? The post-match off camera showed a stare down between Reigns & Cena. Potentially testing the crowd reaction? I'm not in love with the idea of Cena winning another Rumble but Cena/Reigns has interest to me. A lot of ways that could go. I would be OK with Reigns/Brock 2 as well. Rock/HHH & Rock/Brock neither interest me though. Not a single opponent for Undertaker that I can imagine caring about either.
-
all that pre-match hype just got me super sold on this match!
-
Good backstage promo from Becky. Short & to the point but felt natural & not too terribly forced. EDIT: Sadly, the match felt off. They had plenty of time, there was just too much stalling, walking around & not doing anything. And some of the stuff they did do, looked really sloppy. I think there was communication issues a couple of times as well. I still love both Becky & Sasha but this match didn't do much for me.
-
That was a weird opening. It didn't make much, seemed really forced. But at least it was interesting!

I don't know how you can say its bullshit when its true. Simple: I don't think it's true. I think it's something that people on the internet say when they don't like a wrestler 'cause they don't wanna look like a mark. I don't like Dolph Ziggler, that doesn't mean he has go away heat. It means I don't like Dolph Ziggler. I'm not trying to put my disinterest for him as the majority opinion & start speaking for everyone else.
-
Honestly, The Miz feels like a dude that is pretty well rounded. He's a good talker, he's gotten a lot better in-ring, he has heat... he was even good on commentary. I don't have any problems with him & wouldn't mind if they wanted to try him as a top heel again. He seems to put in more effort than Del Rio anyway. I'll always be one of those people that thinks that "go away heat" or "X-Pac heat" or "change the channel heat" or "the wrong kind of heat" or whatever the fuck anyone wants to call it is bullshit. Heat is heat. Especially in this day and age of everyone breaking kayfabe and playing cool/funny heels or shades of gray tweeners that wanna move more merch & not look like bad guys on social media. The biggest babyfaces in the company get booed out of the building. The biggest heels WWE have get cheered & do a lot of crowd-cheering spots (like Seth Rollins). Ain't no one in the damn company got the "right kind" of heat.

To be honest, I don't think beating The Undertaker at Wrestlemania even matters anymore. Now that the streak is over, he doesn't bring anything to the table. I didn't realize while it was going on how important that Streak was to his Wrestlemania draw. I mean, he gave everything to WWE & had a long & tremendous career. He's had a lot of great matches & feuds & memorable moments. Now he's showing his age & his body is totally worn down. I don't think there's a rub there to give. Just like the Wyatt's beating him wouldn't really matter. I think all that is left for The Undertaker at this point, is to officially announce his retirement, do one last Wrestlemania entrance & go into the Hall of Fame. The Streak can't be broken twice. 'Taker winning anymore now doesn't matter. If someone were to beat him, you're the second person to do so & it was against an old, broken down version of The Phenom. I just don't think that's appealing.
-
Still months to go, stuff to watch & some placement tinkering to go... but right now on my list he's #24.
-
Then you should list the five. I think top three best babyfaces are Tito, Morton & Steamboat.
-
I gotta admit, I have more interest in Goodhelmet's list than my own at this point. Super curious what the last ten names on his list are going to be. I know his list & mine will look nothing alike.

Tito Santana is on my list. I might be the high man for Tito, actually. I think Tito Santana might be my favorite babyface of all-time. I just love the way he dies. His comesbacks & fire are great too, but he's just so good at dying. He made everyone he wrestled look like a god. Even when he was squashed in a nothing match at Wrestlemania by The Barbarian. His selling of the top rope Clothesline just made it seem so much more brutal & impactful. Tito was good at what he did. I remember hearing/reading about how it was down to Tito Santana Vs. Bret Hart for whom WWE was going to groom for the top spot after all the steroid trials & Hulk Hogan drama. Tito & the Latinos or Bret & the Canadians. They went with Bret. I'm not sure about the validity of this story but it's certainly fun to think about. Especially now seeing how big the Latino market is in the United States & for pro-wrestling. Would Tito have worked at a top guy if he never took on the El Matadore gimmick? I don't know. Bret was pretty damn good... Of course Ricky Morton is noted for his great babyface work & he comes to mind too but Tito is up there for babyfaces for me.
