Debuting on Smackdown is a death knell.
-
My main goal with my list is that whenever I go down the list, a wrestler above another wrestler in my mind is better. That's the hard part for me. If I look at my list and have a random wrestler at 44, the guy at 43 needs to be better than the guy at 44 and that 44th guy needs to be better than the 45th. The lower down the list you get, the harder that becomes. To me, Top Ten is a lot easier than 90-100. Especially that #100 - so this guy is better than EVERYONE ELSE that I've left off?

What are the odds the mystery opponent could be Daniel Bryan? Did anyone ever report what the third doctor opinion was? Has that doctor visit happened yet? That could be a good surprise.

I remember when a normal, good old fashioned cage match was a big deal. Then we had Hell in a Cell & then Elimination Chamber. Now Hell in a Cell gets its entire own PPV & there's not one but two Hell in a Cell matches on the card & I'm almost completely apathetic for the show. It just doesn't feel like it really matters in the grand scheme of things, ya know? I don't think anyone is picking Kane to win the WWE title. No matter who wins between Roman or Bray, I don't think anything will change. Brock is, in all likelihood, going to topple 'Taker, ending the feud that I didn't even want to see start. There's a tag match where in 2015 the Dudleys could very well be tag champs again. A six-man rematch on the preshow that we got on free TV last night. Ryback/Owens I guess cause Ryback gets his rematch? Nikki/Charlotte because Nikki gets her rematch. I feel like the only intrigue is who is coming out to answer Cena's open challenge as I imagine he's dropping the US title for his time off. I know we're just coasting until Survivor Series (or arguably Royal Rumble) but a Hell in a Cell match should still be a big deal. It doesn't feel like it is anymore. Even with all the Legends last night coming back to try to get it over.

Lita had an impact on fans. Without Lita, there's no AJ Lee, right? At least that's how the story has been portrayed, I'm not sure how close to reality that is.

The New Day Vs. The Dudley Boys & John Cena Rusev, Wade Barrett & Sheamus Vs. Neville, Cesaro & Dolph Ziggler The Shield Vs. The Wyatt Family Is there a new law in WWE that there has to be a six-man tag every hour now, or what?
-
Rusev, Wade Barrett & Sheamus Vs. Cesaro, Neville & Dolph Ziggler was a lot of fun.
-
Victoria was the pits too.

I never got the love for Lita OR Trish. Ivory, Molly Holly & even Jazz were better than both. I've went off on this tangent before but Trish & Lita being great is the same revisionist history that tries to say Triple H was one of the top guys when Rock & Austin were on top. Trish was crawling on all fours in a thong barking like a dog & Lita had her thong hanging out half the time & did a "live sex celebration" but WWE doesn't want us to remember THAT. They want us to remember when they main evented an episode of RAW, when Lita damn near broke her neck.

It's also crazy since everyone is a boring promo when they have to come out & talk for twenty minutes every week. Look at Seth.
-
I think Seth should just be turned babyface since that's how he wrestles anyway.
-
Yeah, Ryback pinned him clean in the middle with the Shellshock in about three minutes. Then the Summer stuff happened. Then he was a lumberjack in the main event with the likes of guys like Jack Swagger. Where the only people that stood out were Big Show and New Day. Seth Vs. Kane main event where Kane goes over and Big Show looks the best. In 2015. Seems legit.
-
It will be. After he caught that New Day beatdown last week, I assume tonight we're getting Cena Vs. Kofi & then Dolph can get his match that was supposed to happen at the PPV. I hope I'm wrong. I'd rather have a returning suprise wrestler win it than that. I'm really struggling this year to think of too many things that I have enjoyed from any promotion in the world. Year-end awards are going to be really hard for me. Ibushi/Nakamura didn't blow me away from Wrestle Kingdom. Sasha/Bayley Ironman was just OK to me, Brooklyn was better but I thought Sasha/Becky was better than both. There's been good Cena matches, I really enjoyed his first one with Owens but that was more for the shock of Owens going over clean. It was wrestled like an Indy spotfest match.

How many Candian posters we have on here? I was so confused at first. Was listening to MLW Podcast, they were speculating that Hell in a Cell will be the send off for John Cena, for his time off. I assume he'll be gone until Royal Rumble? Since that PPV is going to have Brock ending his feud with The Undertaker & most likely Seth Rollins retaining over Kane. What are they going to do for the time between the end of that show & the Royal Rumble?

The worst part about having the part-time guys is that WWE seems to only pit them against one another. So we're never going to get any new guy getting a rub from an old guy. It's always old guy Vs. old guy where the winner doesn't matter and the next night on RAW both of them aren't wrestling on the show. Rock, Taker, Triple H, Brock, etc. I didn't want to see Triple H Vs. Brock or Brock Vs. The Undertaker. Let alone three fucking times each. Same as I don't care to see Rock Vs. Brock anymore or Rock Vs. Triple H or Taker against any of them either. It's a waste of time.
-
I would like to see them do a show, sort of like Table for 3, but instead of the guys shooting the shit while eating, have them watch an old show & commentate on it. I would also like to see more Legends of Wrestling Roundtable discussions.
-
I'm surprised WWE hasn't tried to latch onto the popularity of Fantasy play more. They could even throw some people a bone by putting them on shows they might not other have been on just to shake up the points. Like throwing Zack Ryder on RAW & giving him an upset win or whatever.

Another thing that I like which NXT does, that they used to do on the main shows (but don't seem to do anymore) is how for big shows, NXT will do new, different things to make them feel special. Like Demon Bàlor or Tyler Breeze's special entrances. We need more of that stuff, to differentiate the shows, ya know? Things like that make a big impact on me, personally, so I'm sure others feel the same when watching big shows. Like, one of the best parts of Wrestlemania for me each year was seeing the new, different Undertaker entrance or what the stage/set-up looked like. It's a big part of the spectacle for me. Wrestlemania 28? 29? Whichever one it was, where Bray Wyatt came out with his band playing his theme wearing plague doctor masks, that was so awesome. I've liked him pretty much ever since, even if he's floundered around the midcard in pretty meaningless feuds & matches. His entrance is still so great.

Thank you for this thread. I was one of the people certainly questioning if I should submit anything or not, despite how much I have tried to watch.

There's many discussions about Kurt Angle around here. You're not going to see him finish too highly in most lists in the GWE project, if I were a betting man. The same is true of other names, such as Shawn Michaels. Whom in other corners of the internet always competes for number one of all-time. Here, there are some people that won't have him Top 100. There's just some posters here that have seen so much wrestling, from so many eras from so many different parts of the world, it's pretty overwhelming. Like, we've had two years to put a ballot together. There's just a few months left & I already know I can't get to everyone & it's going to make me feel bad. To the point where I've questioned even submitting a ballot. I'm completely ignorant on Lucha, for example, and when I try to sit down & watch it & educate myself on people like El Dandy or Atlantis, I just lose interest. I can't get into it. I'm the same way for old footage, too. I can't watch grainy black & white clips on YouTube.

I love the way he "wanks off" to Eva's matches. She is going to be an amazing heel. I am salivating for the inevitable Bayley/Eva feud - I'm not even joking either. Full Sail will erupt with thunderous boos. How often do wrestlers get real heat anymore, especially in self-aware NXT? Eva has it. Maybe it's for the wrong reasons, but who cares? I'm of the opinion that there's no such thing as wrong heat. In this day & age, the only way you get booed is if you suck. If you're a good heel, you get cheered. If you do cool moves, you get cheered. If you're funny, you get cheered. If you're booked like Hulk Hogan or suck in the ring, you get booed. It's really weird. But I never agreed with the whole "X-Pac Heat" and having "not real heat but go away heat" line of thinking anyway.

I'm one of those people and I don't feel bad about it either. She might as well be Bayley's mascot at this point. They're constantly featuring her in video packages, she's always on-air on the show & I don't like to see any fan propped up like that, child or not. Same with Brock Lesnar guy or that stupid fucking clown or any of them. What, there's not other kids there that are fans of Bayley too? Like Bierschwale said, it's exploitive & it was the cool the first time to see genuine reactions like that. The fifth or sixth time, I just don't want to see it anymore. Stop using a kid as a prop.

I liked most of the show. Didn't love the winners in the tag matches. Thought Asuka's debut was strong. Dana looked good too. She's improving quickly. The End of Days reversal finish by Corbin was really good. I liked all the main event post-match stuff.

Liked the show overall but didn't feel the main event lived up to expectations. I hate that kid that has become her own damn character in NXT now. She got more screen time than some of the workers. Cane Izzie.

Well, it is still supposed to be a developmental show. They put Eva Marie on TV. Although at this point, it can be argued that NXT is its own brand and their PPVs are more about people like Bàlor, Joe, etc. with more experience. People like Corbin, Breeze, Eva & Alexa Bliss still get a lot of screen time. Agreed that The Mechanics still need a lot of polish. So do guys like Tye Dillenger. Giving them TV time can only help.
