  1. I like ladder matches when they have innovative spots & the car crash appeal. I prefer cage matches as a blowoff to a feud, when there isn't any escaping the cage & it's over when one man can't continue. We never get the latter. We get cage matches where people leave through a door & it's one guy running the whole time. Both are overdone nowadays, especially in WWE. I still prefer cage matches though. A lot of stuff in ladder matches is hard to watch as a fan because I just feel like people are going to get injured from the bumps.
  2. His backstage segment last night with Zeb was pretty good. He was speaking better too, the lisp wasn't as bad. Honestly, I barely even noticed it at all. Maybe he's been taking speech therapy? He's a lot more enjoyable in the calm, collected manner, that's for sure.
  3. I'm paying very little attention to the show tonight. I find myself being more entertained browsing images on Imgur.
  4. The Money in the Bank concept as a whole is a debacle. Completely devaluing championships, championship matches, contendership & champions. Throwing all of that away for a shock title switch? Just really short-sighted. ...as bad as WWE is for doing that, other promotions copying it is even worse! In a lot of other federations now, even New Japan Pro-Wrestling, you see someone carrying a briefcase.

    Masa Chono

One Man Gang/Akeem! "WHOA-HAAA! WHOA-HAAA!" Chono is the guy that I'm watching older stuff of today. My new process is selecting a nominee everyday & watching new (to me) stuff of theirs. I've seen some Chono stuff & don't remember him being very good. So I'm watching any older stuff I can find.

Didn't Vince McMahon, on-air in kayfabe, get fired from his position & Triple H took it over? Am I mis-remembering that? Not like I would think that would matter for WWE to remember it years later anyway but there's so many holes in the authority figure crap over the years it makes Kane's character progression look logical by comparison. Vickie Guerrero, John Laurinaitis, Teddy Long, Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, Linda McMahon, Co-Owner Ric Flair, "Sheriff" Steve Austin, Commissioner Mick Foley, President Jack Tunney, etc.
  7. Short backstage promos. Not in-ring monologues where the crowd chants "What?" the whole time. Especially for characters like Bray Wyatt. Wrestlers being able to win a match with multiple different moves, not just always a finish or a roll-up. Where is the intrigue in a pinfall attempt something like a powerslam when the wrestler has never beaten anyone, not even a jobber with it. Those pinfall attempts are just a waste of time. I mean, if the commentators were trying to get over that the wrestler being pinned has to exert energy just to kickout & that the wrestler on the offense is just wearing them down, that would be one thing... but that's not what happens. It's more like hit a move, pin, commentators ignore it... and then they keep going. Hell, WWE has even went to commercial break during a pinfall attempt before. That's how far down the rabbit hole we are now. If the pinfall doesn't matter... don't do it. Simple, no? Not ignoring history would be nice. It's annoying when a heel turns babyface & then all is forgiven for the acts he did before as a bad guy. At least show a little apology segment or something, anything. Instead of just slapping them out there teaming with the guys that he had a blood feud with. Hmm. I'm realize now that I'm answering this thread the same way as the last one, with a negative tone. Let's try a different approach. - More video packages & hype videos. WWE is great at them. - Shocking returns that make the crowd go crazy. Always fun. - Larger than life entrances & PPV sets. Makes the shows feel special & memorable. - More original content for WWE Network featuring Legends just shooting the shit. Bring back Legends of Wrestling Roundtable discussion. - Tag teams that have a tag team name & tag team finish. It's generic to me when it's just two people teaming together, like Edge & Christian.
  8. 100% honesty: Doink the Clown, Dink, Wink & Pink Vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler, Cheesy, Sleezy & Quesy from 1994. It even holds up on a re-watch. It's worked as a comedy match. Doink is the first one eliminated. By the rules of the match, that means Jerry can't wrestle the babyface midgets. So he does all of his heeling from the apron & by cheating. Then he gets his comeuppance post-match. It's just entertaining & really light-hearted. That same PPV also features the great post-win promo by Bob Backlund. "I feel like GOD!" That whole PPV is fun.
  9. Vince McMahon, Jr. is 70-years-old. During his life, he's abused cocaine & steroids, he lives on the road & gets, from all accounts, very little sleep. Let's be honest, he's not going to be around forever. He is going to die in our lifetimes. I'm curious what the state of WWE looks like after he passes away. I'm also curious what sort of hit the stock will take when it happens. I know it sounds morbid & I'm certainly not wishing death or ill-will on anyone, in or out of professional wrestling. I do certainly think that it is an interesting subject for discussion though.
  10. Today I learned that One Man Gang, in WCW at the end of 1995, won the United States title from Kensuke Sasaki. He lost it a month later to Konnan. Apparently in the match, which there's a short clip of on YouTube, Sasaki kicked out at two but the referee kept counting anyway & counted to three. Gang celebrated like he had won. I read, although I'm not sure the validity of it (this is why I'm posting as I'm hoping to get more information) that the referee later restarted the match, Sasaki went on to win but that WCW never recognized the match restarting. So I assume Gang winning was a fuck-up that they just rolled with and that Sasaki was going to drop the U.S. Title to Konnan anyway?
  11. I think the biggest thing that drives me nuts lately is when half the roster acknowledges that a camera is there at all times & the other half of the roster act like they can get away with shit that is being filmed. Like, yeah, the dude you're fucking with should probably know that you're doing shit behind his back when you're doing it all on camera. Getting rid of authority figures & long-ass promos would help a ton. Why is anyone getting that long to talk? Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair & Roddy Piper would have died if they had to go out every week and talk for twenty minutes. Just so counter-productive. What can you not say in two minutes? Why does it have to be in-ring? You're just asking for "WHAT!?" chants... 3-Man Commentary needs to go away. Just a Play-by-Play guy (calling the moves) and a Color Commentator (adding insight). That's all we need. Stop trying to give everyone & everything some bullshit catchphrase or buzzword. They're wrestlers, not sports entertainers. They're fans not the WWE Universe. He kicked him in the head, not THE SKULL~! No, that RKO wasn't out of nowhere. Stop talking over the entrances!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Triple H has tried to do the movie thing & failed. The Chaperone, Blade: Trinity, Inside Out. He can't act - in or out of wrestling. So of course he'll be bitter about people like The Rock or Batista when they get success in places he couldn't. I definitely think it's passive aggressive. If he could have had their success, he would be doing it too... but he couldn't. Even Nathan Jones has had more success in Hollywood. So Triple H is now the guy that tells jokes & acts like everyone else ran away from wrestling. I don't buy it. Look at some of his entrances too. If I were trying to read into it, I'd even say some of that stems from not being able to do what The Rock or Batista can do in Hollywood. Coming out as Conan and The Terminator. He strikes me as a really insecure person.

As morbid as it is, maybe a month away will do Rusev some good right now. Being on TV wasn't exactly doing him any favors lately. He was getting lost in the shuffle.

I would guess Randy Orton (if he's back by then) & Dean Ambrose. Since they were supposed to wrestle The Wyatt's anyway.

Considering the roster they have, it is really sad. We could be getting some phenomenal, new match-ups & instead get three month block rehashes. It's depressing, really. I guess WWE see Brock as above making new guys though, since he's making so much.

Yeah, I like the idea of Brock winning the Rumble & going to face Roman at Wrestlemania. Roman winning the title at Survivor Series & holding it until SummerSlam next year I think could work. Ties-up the loose ends of the Seth, Roman & Brock strands leftover from Wrestlemania last year.

RAW was a ton of fun tonight. Some good wrestling. My only real complaints were Lesnar not being involved in the Title Contender matches & The Authority opening the show. That main event owned though. Good shit. Like, they explained Roman's struggles. Getting beat at Wrestlemania due to the MitB cash-in, getting beat at MitB due to Wyatt... but they ignored that Brock was about to win the title at Mania & was stopped by the same cash-in, that Roman was the one that got beat, not him. That Brock was going to win the title back, but Taker interfered & now that Brock had beaten Taker basically three months in a row... he just wasn't interested in getting HIS title back, really? Crowd helped the show some tonight too. Just really wish the "What?" shit would go away. How old is that nonsense now? I'm starting to think it's here forever, like the "Woo!" whenever anyone does a chop. Sucks because it kills promos dead... but maybe that should be a sign to stop trying to do in-ring ten minute plus promos on live TV! C'mon, WWE...
  18. The front flip thing she does during her ring entrance is usually the most fluid, natural looking thing she does in each match. If the rest of her match looked like her entrance, she would be good to go.
  19. A lot of talk about it on DVDVR and Reddit after last night as well. Let's see where you stand on this after another month. Just like when people starting to turn on Dolph, now they're starting to like Nikki. Same way people are starting to like Dana in NXT now.
  20. I had a good time watching this show over at a buddy's house. Wrestling is a lot more enjoyable when you're watching it with other people, get some food, get some drinks & are able to just talk over the stuff you don't care so much about. Certainly beats watching at home alone on my computer and just being bitter about everything anyway. Really enjoyed Nikki Bella tonight. I have no problem saying she's way better than Charlotte. Never got the love for Charlotte, especially from people like Meltzer.
  21. Truth be told, the only Table for 3 episodes that I have enjoyed so far were the New Day & Ryback/Ziggler/Bryan. All the other ones, there's been one person on the panel that ruined it all for me. I think it's cool they're adding original content like this now though & I hope they keep it up.
  22. I missed the C.M. Punk "pipebomb" promo live when it happened. After RAW was over, I had friends going crazy trying to talk to me about it. I had no idea what the heck they were talking about. So I had to seek it out afterward. Not getting to see it in the moment still grates on me. I really hate that I missed that live & didn't get to experience everything with friends & internet people online afterward. Being live definitely has something to do with it for me.
  23. I stopped at 50 last time I was working on it. I've also struggled to get to 100. Which is funny as I've been watching for almost thirty years at this point.
  24. Stock Up: Big Boss Man. Seeing more of his stuff, especially non-WWF stuff, I'm always surprised by how quick he was for his size. Great punches. Can work as both face & heel quite well. Good bumper. Even worked the Big Man psychology well, especially when teaming with Akeem. The match he has with Big Van Vader in 1994 is ridiculous. Also, it doesn't really pertain to his work so much but he was funny as fuck too. Some of my biggest wrestling memories involve The Big Boss Man: Big Show riding on his dad's casket, Al Snow being fed his dog pepper, "You're a big nasty bastard & your mama said so!" The Steve Austin story about how Boss Man missed his run-in queue because he was telling a story to the boys in the back. How many times did he get beat down & "tagged" by the nWo? Poor bastard was probably buried in his coffin with "nWo 4-life" in black spray paint on his back. Also when The Mountie had to go to jail after losing to Boss Man... have you watched those skits recently? "Don't you just love the way leather feels against your body?" - don't think WWE could get away with that today. Boss Man's WWF theme song owned too.
  25. I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with being the high vote on The Nasty Boys. I love them. They are pro-wrestling to me. When I was falling out of favor with wrestling, their brawls helped to drag me back in. There's a big emotional connection with me to them because of that. I loved their hardcore/street fight tags in early 90's WCW. Vicious, crazy, wild clubberin'. They're in my top 5 and won't be lower than that. Whenever my friend John & I are looking for something to watch, if we can't decide, we usually pick a card that has a Nasty Boys tag team match on it. I'm ridiculously high on them. They entertain the hell outta me. In truth, the Nasty Boys are the reason I even want to submit a tag team ballot. Their stuff looked real, it looked like people were getting mauled. I don't mind the headlocks so much. There's a match with The Steiners where Knobbs takes a Frankensteiner & I thought his neck was broken. It was insane looking! I realize some people won't have them on their lists at all & I'm totally fine with that. I'll be representin' the Boys, though.
