They should have Jamie Hayter beat Jade Cargill for the TBS Title. It gives her something to do & would help Jade as well as this title reign & streak has kind of hit a wall. I actually don't dislike the Nyla/Jade direction thus far though. I do think they'll try to double turn Baker/Saraya, which would make the Hayer/Baker thing even farther away as they would both kind of be face. I assume Saraya/Baker will continue through this PPV as well & after Cargill, Hayer could move on to Nyla. I think the biggest problem with Tony Khan is he doesn't know when to pull the trigger. Either to end something or to start something. He misses a lot of windows. Madisyn Rayne was brought in as a trainer, right? She seems to be getting more TV opportunities than some of the other ladies but I don't know a lot of the schedules of some of the Japanese stars to be fair. I saw Rayne was wrestling on Rampage tonight.

The bigger issue is his use on Dynamite - same with Garcia for awhile - instead of being delegated to Rampage or Dark. There's often talent better than them both on Rampage & it doesn't make any sense. I understand wanting to push new blood - and they should - but it feels like they just picked two motherfuckers out of a hat, not anyone that actually had momentum from the live crowd. Like it worked with The Acclaimed because they were over.

Better than the alternative to keep using him when no one cares though, right? Hope he does the same with Wheeler and the ROH shit.

My biggest issue with the main roster in WWE is that everyone always feels so stale. Even guys that never even really got huge pushes. Like Lashley feels stale. McIntyre feels stale. Kevin Owens feels stale. Finn Balor feels stale. Never mind people like Orton or Dolph. They just need new faces & blood at the top. Not guys that show up & have to wait a decade to get a shot. They need to just make guys like Gunther or Bron Breakker & see if they stick. Not 50/50 booking. Not "paying your dues." Just get some new people at the top of the cards. WWE just feels fucking OLD. At least Judgment Day is using Rhea & Dominick.

It's actually kind of endearing that people like Jeff Jarrett & Sean Waltman have been around so long & gone through so much that they kind of became like, the default good guys after getting shit on for so long.

I never even found Saraya to be all that good in the ring, tbh. I remember thinking she wasn't as good as AJ Lee & I really liked the AJ Lee/Kaitlyn feud. I still hope TAFKA Paige has a good showing because I think a lot of fans are going to misremember her ability, not to mention the ring rust & it's going to have that hard-to-watch, impending doom feeling like when Bryan Danielson returned to the ring due to the health issues. I also don't think Britt is very good at all, so not exactly the safest person for her return match to be against.

The amount of replies to this thread pretty much sum up how much AEW has fallen lately. It seems the majority of the interest in AEW is gone & certainly their honeymoon phase is over. The JAS Vs. BCC never-ending feud is not doing them any favors. Consistently using Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara, I think, is really hurting them. The ROH stuff is hurting them. Obviously losing Punk, Omega & The Young Bucks isn't helping. I think they've burned a lot of goodwill from the fans. That spark is gone. I don't know how they get it back. There was a lot of hype & excitement around AEW for at least a couple of years. The crowds were rabid & forgiving. Now, well, it just kind of feels like WWE Livewire.

WWE TV 11/07 - 11/13 Roman broke his knee and made him humble
Coffey replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Wasn't the big issue last time WWE did it is that no one watched it? It's hard to build up that interest for an all women's PPV. That was, of course, before they had women main event a Wrestlemania but still, you have to have reasons for matches to happen. You can't just be like "oh, well, we need to fill out the card, so here's three matches with no story or heat." WWE certainly have a ton of women with talent. With how WWE Network works, you don't even have to try to sell PPVs anymore either. I think that big thing that WWE needs to stop doing is bringing back people like Trish Stratus & Lita all the time. Your current group of women are infinitely better - don't make them play second fiddle to old stars from yesterday. Also, don't put Stephanie McMahon's name & fingers all over it. No one gives a fuck about her. Speaking of WWE women, where the Hell has Charlotte Flair been? Seems like she's been gone forever. -
My whole demeanor has thus far has been both sides were at fault but I lean more in favor of Punk because I think he can bring more to AEW than the Bucks/Omega can. Of course, I've always thought the Bucks were awful, so your mileage may vary.

If some dude wants to give me ten million dollars to give him a gimmick belt & call him his excellency, I'm down. I don't care who you've killed or what people on the internet say about me. C.R.E.A.M. Wu-Tang is for the children.

Cabana as Jericho's mystery opponent & Jeff Jarrett of all people showing up & people on social media are celebrating lol.
-
I remember when AEW first started & they were doing that press conference & Chris Jericho was there. To me, and I get I'm not the average wrestling fan, he felt washed. The big "oh shit" moment for AEW for me was at the end of the first PPV when Jon Moxley showed up. THAT felt like that big moment, not AEW getting Jericho.
-
Is Jericho even a big enough name that TV people would recognize him? That's surprising to me. It's not like he's at Austin or Rock levels. Jericho is a big reason they got onto TNT? That's insane.

Someone should make a missing person poster for Miro at this point. Put him on some milk cartons.

WWE TV 10/31 - 11/06 The biggest babyface comeback ever

Iron Sheik about to break backs & make people humble again for the old country! -
I think the NBA enforced their dress code in 2005ish, so I wonder if WWE did it because the NBA did it? I've never thought about it. I do remember a lot of shit coming out about people thinking the NBA dress code was racist because they were trying to get people like Allen Iverson to not be themselves, with a lot of coded language on TV about "thugs."

At this point, most ideas I hear sound better than bringing in The Rock to face Roman or doing another Brock/Roman or Drew/Roman or Lashley/Roman or Goldberg/Roman. WWE needs some new talent at the top for sure.
-
He looks more like Kerry facially too I feel. Like outside of the massive weight he's put on, looking like WWF era Texas Tornado.
-
I don't know what he even has left in the tank at this point, but Nakamura going back to Japan full-time would probably be what I desire the most as a fan. Dude has been invisible since coming to WWE outside of his NXT debut & the one promo where he said he doesn't speak English after cheating. And we know Muta has nothing left. He's been washed for at least a decade. He's got less knees than poor ol' Terry Funk.

In this day & age, it's entirely possible that even if MJF himself & AEW/Khan wanted Maxwell to remain a heel, the crowd might just ignore that & babyface him anyway. Would make for some awkward TV when MJF is cutting a promo shitting on a wrestler or town & the crowd is losing their minds cheering & chanting his name while he does it. Like when Toronto absolutely refused to let Hulk Hogan be a bad guy against The Rock.

I was really impressed by Willow when she got up for Jade's finish because that was all Willow.

I'm not as pessimistic as this as I feel they've been successful thus far, certainly. My biggest complaint is that they still just feel like an Indie. Like the show comes off as bush league on TV. The gimmick commentator, the picture-in-picture, the old WCW Saturday Night style entrance... It doesn't feel big enough. Even with the good crowds & big PPV numbers, it feels amateur. That's not even getting into the majority of the roster, which I feel isn't ready for weekly TV. Tony Khan is a money mark. Or, a money Smart Mark as it were. And although he does have a lot more money than most, he's still just a wrestling fan blowing through money to fantasy book. He doesn't know anything about episodic TV & it shows. The new car smell is gone & with it, a lot of the hype & expectations of the company. I think everyone had their own vision of what AEW would turn into but it didn't really turn into anything. It stayed what it was, which is a super Indy, only it added a bunch of bloated ex-WWE people to the roster & started fading out their homegrown originals.

I just watched it last night... yeah. Glad I didn't go to the theater for that bullshit.

I don't think it really helps Corbin if they're planning on pushing him to go 50/50 with Ziggler in a match that goes through a commercial break & is that long. You wanna put him over, have him squash someone or have him cheat his ass off.
