Surprised more people aren't talking about the Powerbomb that Anna Jay took off the stage where she completely missed the table & landed smack dab on her fucking spine on the concrete.

That short Piledriver looks like death every time.

All-in-all, it was still a good, entertaining episode, so I can't very well complain. Definitely a few questionable decisions but every show in every company is going to have that.

Unsurprisingly the Jericho segment is fucking terrible.

We’re kicking out of Top Rope Air Raid Crashes in women’s TV matches now? My goodness.

I’m not the biggest Adam Cole fan but I’m glad he’s healthy. Also can’t deny he’s definitely over.

    Page/Mox was pretty good.

Also, I really like the new look. I think it's a huge improvement. I've read opinions on both side of the equation but I didn't voice mine in the thread last week, so I just wanted to throw that out there. I also like the look of all the current AEW champions, outside of I guess PAC in Death Triangle (and that's a reach) not being ex-WWE guys. That's a big anchor that naysayers have been able to hold against AEW in the past. With everything going on with WWE right now, having your champions be the likes of MJF, The Acclaimed, Jamie Hayter, Jade Cargill, Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy & Death Triangle is a good look. If The Elite win the Trios titles tonight, it'll be Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks instead. Like, yes, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Chris Jericho are there but AEW is doing great right now. I never really got that argument anyway. During the Monday Night Wars, it was a big deal when someone jumped to the other company. Now it's turned into a negative that people use against a company. It's just weird. Nobody called Hall, Nash or Luger "WWE rejects" when they went back to WCW. Nor do I recall anyone calling anyone a "WCW reject" if they went to WWF. Like when the Radicals jumped ship, that was a huge deal.

Oh, also, another quick point I wanted to make: I have complained in the past about matches that happen for no reason, that don't have any stakes. Matches that are just there to be good matches but don't otherwise have a point, ultimately. I feel like they don't have a lot of heat & are just to kill time on TV. This American Dragon having to win seven in a row is a GREAT way to give him a reason to wrestle several opponents that he wants while also giving a reason to the matches happening. Love that.

I like Takeshita because his speed & athleticism for his size really stand out to me when watching him. It's more subtle than a lot of other people that can do similar. I would compare him more to the likes of someone like Tito Santana probably than Jumbo. Wrestling comparisons are hard. It also should be noted that with all the WWE selling drama going on, and the Saudi Arabia rumors, tonight might have more of a viewing audience for Dynamite. We'll see.

I had to start this thread because I wanted to mention a match that is happening on Dynamite tonight & I didn't want to put it in the all-encompassing thread. Bryan Danielson Vs. Konosuke Takeshita is going to slap & I really hope that Danielson loses. Takeshita, I feel, could be a pretty big star but he keeps coming up short in big matches. I know this is the first match of the seven-weeks thing that Danielson is doing to get a shot at MJF but I would love that swerve. Anyway, this card is stacked, including, finally, the finale to the best-of-seven.
  12. How reliable is this jabrone?
  13. I think shows like Dark, Dark: Elevation & now NXT Level-Up for WWE, are actively detrimental to the pro wrestling industry as a whole. Yes, kayfabe is dead & everyone on the internet thinks they're a know-it-all nowadays, but it's a bad look, to me, when you're just beating your viewers over the head with "this shit is fake, watch these nobodies learn to work" all the fucking time. That's my problem with these shows. It's the same way I felt about Tough Enough. I'm sorry if that ruffles the feathers of some Straight Edge dude that I've never heard of, but so be it. Even if you can get a star from it, like a Sol Ruca, I think the negatives far outweigh the positives. I think it does long term damage when you disenfranchise the viewing audience to the work of wrestling to the point where it just becomes an athletic display & no one is able to suspend disbelief anymore. We're so far beyond the Wizard being revealed behind the curtain that we now wrestle with the curtain open & are arguing about what The Wizard is wearing.
  14. No, I would rather they not hire people that need to "get their reps in" at all. Same with WWE. Bring in the people that you want to use. That's what the Indies are for. AEW Dark shouldn't exist.
  15. White Zombie Astro Creep 2000 came out in 1995 and that album was very grungy.
  16. They need to put the stars on the main show. No one gives a shit about Dark, no one is watching the YouTube shows. Hell, no one watches Rampage. It's like when WCW was hot during the Monday Night Wars era & someone was wrestling on WCW Saturday Night. Or WWF Sunday Night Heat.
  17. Time to bring back the Pink Slip on a Pole gimmick! Vince gonna be firing (and re-firing) everybody. I don't see how this is anything other than awful news for people under the WWE umbrella. Getting Vince gone was a good thing, morale seemed to be up, Triple H seemed to be doing a fine job & had a lot of goodwill & now... *fart*
  18. I honestly think the biggest problem is sometimes - often times - they give matches that no one really cares about way too much time. Like, every match doesn't have to go 15 minutes & go back-and-forth. I think sometimes it's OK if you just have the bigger star win quickly. It helped Wardlow early but more than that, it's just boring if you're having a match that people didn't really care about to begin with go through a commercial break & then have a post match too.
  19. Remember your "I thought you might be a troll" comment the other day? That's how I feel about Dav'oh, 'cause there ain't no fuckin' way. Reminds me of the people on Twitter that tried to say Damar's injury was due to getting vaccinated. Sometimes you just gotta ignore people, even when they play the "just asking questions" or "different opinion" cards.
  20. I like MJF but there’s very few men in the world that would hold my attention long enough for me to care about an Ironman Match & MJF is not one of them. Even 30 minute Ironman matches in the modern era bore me to tears. It ain’t Steamboat & Rude out there and PWO as a whole has always liked Danielson more than I do.
  21. They barely let Jamie Hayter get a word in earlier. Maybe the first step in restarting their beef. The Swerve/Fox match was damn entertaining.
  22. Dude, I ain’t watching a fucking 60 minute MJF match. I don’t care who the opponent is.
  23. Whatever you say, dude.
  24. I love how over The Acclaimed are but I think it says a lot about AEW that on their big New Year Seattle show they’re against fucking Lethal & Jarrett.
  25. Funk is on a roll.
