  2. I thought that was a really good show (surprise, right?). Mickie/Trish, except for the botched Stratusfaction, which shouldn't have happened anyway since Mickie could've just won with her DDT, was a good match. I thought Foley/Edge was MOTN. The MITB match was good and Shelton was fucking money. He was SO on. Mysterio was really on too, except for the botched pole 619. Still, that was a good match, although it certainly felt rushed. Boogeyman and Pillow fight were trash. Kane/Show Vs. Carlito/Masters was basically a squash, which didn't do anyone any favors. I thought Cena & Triple H's entrances were hokey but I liked their match.
  3. The biggest night in wrestling. I'm looking forward to it. You know, it's funny. I haven't liked hardly any of the build-up to 'Mania. There's several matches that I just don't even care about. Yet, when the day finally arrives, as a wrestling fan, you can't help but feel excited. Well, at least I can't. I know all the workers always try three times as hard at 'Mania, so people actually seem like they're trying to show one another up. It'll be great to see the performances of people like Michaels and RVD on this stage (again).
  4. The big problem is that WWE doesn't have that big, over babyface. You have Mysterio on Smackdown and that's about it. What do you have on Raw, especially if they turn Cena heel? Cena, Triple H, Vince, etc. all trying to get main event heel space? It wouldn't work. You don't want to turn Hunter heel. You don't want to keep Cena face. So, the turn shouldn't happen in their match...but Cena definitely needs to turn. I actually hope that Mysterio does get shipped to Raw as has been rumored. Big Dave needs to get back soon. I still hate the brand split. I used to think that I had John Cena figured out. Now? I don't know anymore. It's obvious that he loves his job and he works hard and he seems like a legitimate nice guy. I don't know why he's getting booed. Maybe because he's getting shoved down our throats with the "overcome all odds" booking. Maybe it's because he doesn't seem...real in his gimmick. I really don't know. I think a lot of the people booing him now are doing it just because other people have already done it. It's like a trend now. Triple H certainly isn't helping things with his "you can't wrestle" promos and whatnot. As to why people are cheering Triple H? Wow. It could be a lot of reasons too. Maybe because Hunter always wins so people are just tired of "betting against him" so to speak. Maybe it's just because he's against Cena? It could easily be either of those scenarios. There's a lot of ways I could see things panning out. I could see Flair or RVD winning MITB, however, I think both of them would have to wrestle HHH. I can't see Cena retaining at 'Mania but I have a guy feeling that for some reason, he will.
  5. I just think that SNME was the best WWE show that WWE have put on in years. Especially for free. If you didn't like it, you're not going to like anything WWE does. THAT is what WWE does, that show. Actually, that's the top of chain, about as good as it can get. If you watched it and didn't like, you don't like WWE. You're not going to be happy. You're still watching for, maybe, five matches a year. That's not a good investment.
  6. See, I did think it was botched too.
  7. So why am I not supposed to think that the Ganzo Bomb wasn't just a botched Powerbomb?
  8. I'm re-watching this AJPW 90's comp. tape and I've realized how much Jun Akiyama is out of his league as it pertains to Misawa, Kawada & Kobashi. Hell, I even think big Taue out-performs him, at least in the matches on the tape. I can't quite put my finger on why but I just don't get as emotionally attached to the match that Jun is in compared to the other workers. They're just so much above him.
  9. Boss Man was face for quite awhile. That's right around the time of his feud with The Mountie & Nailz, right? Dino Bravo and Warrior had the push-up contest and Earthquake was the fat guy picked out of the crowd to sit on their backs when they did the pushups. Then he squashed Warrior. So that explains them being together. Volkoff got slapped with Duggan because Volkoff suddenly loved American and Duggan's always been all "USA" so I guess that sort of made sense.
  10. These are just some thoughts, ramblings, as they come to me: First off, I'd break up Team Canada. Petey and Roode, I think, would be fine solo. Maybe stick D'Amore with whichever one of them is the worst on the mic, or possibly both of them. Turn Eric Young face because it seems like the fans want to cheer him. Dump A-1 because although he's big, that's all he has going for him. I'm not feeling Bentley, Shane, Maverick whatever they're calling him. Get Traci away from him because she can get anyone a pop. Turn the Dudley Boys heel. They can only have so many matches with AMW and they work better as heels anyway. Dump Gayda. She brings nothing to the table. Push Samoa Joe to the heavyweight division, which appears they're already doing. I don't think he should have to go through this whole hardcore division first either. Use Sting on TV. As much as they're paying him, we should see him. Same with Christian. Stop all the squash matches. You only have an hour of TV a week. Don't use half of that to do squashes that don't showcase anything. Tell Mitchell to stop doing the "doomsday" crap because it's corny and hokey. Get better music. My God. Tell the commentators to CALM DOWN. Tell Tenay to act like he did in WCW and call the moves and give us backstory instead of trying to out enthusiasm West. Stop being petty. Strong and Aries didn't do anything wrong, they shouldn't be punished, especially since they're better than 80% of the other X-Division workers. Give something for the midcarders to do. This has been a problem for awhile and it's the reason why people like Bobby Roode and Sonny Siaki (whom is gone now) never had anything to do. There needs to be a TV belt or something. Something for them to do. At least incorporate a ranking system so you can have the guys wrestling for a reason. Jarrett is OK in small doses but he shouldn't be getting as much TV time as Hogan did in WCW. C'mon. He needs an overhaul pretty badly. The evil cowboy gimmick is way passed it's prime. Even with AMW with him. Sting should've never came out as "Steve Borden." Stop it. Run an X-Division tournament or something. Why should I care more about Sabin then Dutt? Why do I care if Shark Boy gets squashed by Abyss? It's like Petey Williams stands out more than the other guys right now simply because he has a cool move and they don't. Styles and Daniels get a lot of time but they don't even come off as anything special anymore. Homcide, Jay Lethal and Shelley should have roles other than being henchmen. Tell Steiner to wear a shit because that tattoo was a bad investment. Also, give him more mic time and let him just ramble about having the largest arms in the galaxy. TNA is running house shows now. That's good. Anything to get them away from the Orlando fans, at least every now and then. Keep doing that. Stop have Road Dogg act black. Stop having Killings rap. Stop having Billy Gunn act gay. Hoyt sucks. Stop. Monty Brown needs to stop with the alpha male african lion crap. Just become a wrestler that wants to win because he's hungry for gold. All this Serengeti stuff comes off as super-duper corny. Worse than trying to buy the Pounce as a finisher. Stop trying to be ECW & WCW slapped together. They both failed, don't follow in their footsteps.
  11. Personally, I think it's coming off very corny. Cornette cutting promo's is fine but when fans start making terrible "rebuttal" videos and people start "hacking" forums and shit, it's coming off really poor. I realize they don't have TV but this is just...bad. Here's the "fan" video. If you make it through the whole thing, you're a better man that I. I was so embarassed for them, I had to stop watching it.
  12. It's a sleezy, carny business. The workers are just as hypocritical and fickle as the fans, sometimes moreso.
  13. Flair thinks Carlito is gay?
  14. I want to see the fifty matches listed, personally. Especially if we throw out squashes.
  15. That'd be great. They should do that when all the WWF guys are trying to garner heat too, like when JBL is insulting them and shit.
  16. I don't get it. What are we supposed to say? "I agree, there will be a ten man run-in?" I thought it was a rhetorical statement.
  17. Well, it'll definitely be worth checking out. The problem, of course, will be the rest of the card. What are they going to do, slap Mysterio and Super Crazy together? There's just not a whole lot of options left with a lot of the ECW alumi being in contract to TNA. Sabu, Shane Douglas, Raven, The Dudley Boys, etc.
  18. How about "I don't even care to comment about it because it's just not worth that amount of time," on a MESSAGE FORUM.
  19. RRR is a dumbfuck. Everyone should know that by now.
  20. Because if a lot of people watch it, it's quality. WWE is a business first. More viewers = more money.
  21. Just a reminder: Mick Foley presenting "this is your life" to The Rock is still, I believe, the highest rated moment in Raw history. A lot of people really don't watch for the wrestling. I'm trying to write parts of the review right now. I made an outline and jotted down some points that I wanted to convey but I just have so much to say, I feel like I'm getting disorganzied. I'm jumping around a lot. I will say this though, something to think about. When WWE present something, and it's obvious what's going to happen, is it so bad when it actually does turn out that way? For example, we all knew that Mickie was going to turn heel. We saw it coming from a mile away. However, when it finally happened, I see some people acting like it sucks, or that it was too predictable or whatever. Everything doesn't have to be a swerve. Sometimes, the clear path is the best one. It just seems like you can't please everyone. If they do the swerve, people complain. If they don't do the swerve people complain. Why are the complainers the loudest?
  22. It doesn't at all. I didn't mean to convey that it did. I just wanted to illustrate that I wasn't alone in my boat. I recorded the show (glad that I did) and I'm going to re-watch it again, maybe twice, then I plan on writing a review of it. I'll post it here. I'm going to play some Warcraft for now to let some thoughts sink in though.
  23. Ha! I'm using this elsewhere. Of course to mock you.
  24. A bad username doesn't make someone's opinion less valid. Their points still stand.
  25. Here's some quotes from some members of the Sports Argument Stadium section of the Something Awful message forums: Here's some quotes from some members of The Smart Marks message forums: ...obviously, I'm not alone in my praise of this show. You can find just as many negative quotes but it certainly wasn't a bad show. It was good at what it meant to do: entertain and sell Wrestlemania. It was entertaining. We got thumbtacks, flaming tables, superplexes off of ladders from the ring to the outside floor through two tables, Mickie finally turning heel, all kinds of shit. We didn't get 5-star matches but we got great TV.
